On percentage, Brisbane are the best of all teams above them other than Sydney. Only their W/L ratio is keeping them out of the top 8 at this stage. Winning against Essendon up at the Gabba in Rd24 won't be a problem. Essendon will falter a bit in the back half of the season. On current form, Brisbane are expected to beat the Demons(H), Crows)H) and Eagles(A), likely a loss against the Swans(H) (unless an upset occurs), then beat the Suns(A), Saints(A) and Giants(H), before possibly losing to the Pies(A). They also have players returning from injury in this second half of the season, so things are definitely looking on the up for the Lions. I'll gladly take the two losses against the Swans and Pies, if they either/both of them are the clearly better teams to beat at the time. Nine rounds is still a long time and anything can also happen to those two teams in that time. With 5 home games and 4 away games to come for the Lions, I'd say they're in a pretty good chance bet to make the top 8 and beat any/all of the current Top 8 teams and go deep into September, if not make it through to the final Saturday again.

Yeah I hope they do as well but not a chance Collingwood will be there. They just beat the bottom side who have won only a hand full of games in five years and even then needed the umpires to save face.

@@rosssmith557 Collingwood won't be top 4 by end of Rd24. At best, probably 5th or 6th with the Giants and Brisbane likely to take the honours. Their game style of coming from 8+ goals down and winning by less than 6 points will have to catch up to them eventually and it's gonna bite them hard! I've got Collingwood making finals but doing a Melbourne of '22 and '23 and going out in straight sets.
