Made as a smaller, easier-to-carry version of its larger brother the M7, the LionSteel T5 is a fully capable, multi-purpose field knife.
A 5mm thick Niolox (think stainless D2 with enhanced wear resistance) blade provides exceptional cutting performance. The high-height saber grind gives excellent slicing while the nearly full-length swedge provides a robust point for tip work.
The 3D machined handles are available in are milled from a solid piece of Black Micarta for added strength and are contoured for a comfortable and ergonomic grip while the surface texture gives more security in adverse conditions. The tang of the knife is partially hidden within the integral micarta handle scale for added protection during cold weather as well as a more comfortable grip overall.
Carries via a black, double-stitched, MOLLE compatible, Italian leather sheath. Brand new, directly from LionSteel of Italy.

Thank you for showing it next to the BOB. I have been thinking of getting a bob, but after seeing the side by side. I went with the T5. I cant wait till it comes in.

I love this knife. Great blade with a really comfortable handle and a good sheath. I generally prefer fixed blades between 6 to 8 inches long. This is my favourite 5 inch.

LionSteel makes some of the most comfortable and well-designed fixed blades around. Thanks for watching. 👍

I have the m3 (niolox) and m7(sleipner). I recommend the niolox. The performance seemed about the same but the sleipner rusts like crazy.

The sleipner is higher carbon and therefor easier to sharpen and keep an edge , niolox must be stainless and a pain to sharpen

@@joekelly9369 Check out KnifeSteelNerds.com for more info on steels. Niolox is stainless (close to 440C) and should be easier to sharpen than D2 with better edge stability. Sleipner is a modified D2 with increased toughness. Sharpening will be easier than D2, probably similar to Niolox. Both have similar attainable working hardness, with Sleipner being slightly higher (1-2 points).

I am so glad you did this video with the tops Bob in comparison because I have been trying to decide between the two of those or the M5 with the leather sheet for EDC. i’m getting bored with my Gerber Strong Arm and I am an over the road truck driver and Steel hauler so carrying a good blade for utility purposes is a must and the occasional self-defense. God forbid I ever need to pull it. Would you consider this knife to be too big for EDC? Especially if you travel across country

Should be fairly similar to D2: zknives.com/knives/steels/steelgraph.php?nm=Niolox%2CD2

Is niolox a stainless or chromium carbon type m. Im not big on stainless . Sharpening in the field is a painfull job , the blade looks perfect for a few months out in the wilds compared to scandi blades . Which prove useless for anything other than feather sticks , using one knife for 8 month periods preparing meat n veg , you will be throwing your scandi blades away

Niolox is a stain resistant tool steel most readily comparable to D2 with enhanced edge stability and a bit better corrosion resistance. Here is some info: tinyurl.com/ymsjm9wd Scandi knives are more suited to woodcraft. Different tools for different tasks. Thanks for watching. 👍

I hear that. I love my helle but trying to cut potatoes with it is ridiculous, I may as well be smashing them with a rock.
