I’ve tried bunch of expensive lip balms but nothing beats vaseline.

I'm addicted to the beautiful tint that some lip balms give to my dead colorless lips

It all started when my friend offered me an unused Carmex lip balm…

It’s just a habit, when you do something long enough you don’t even realize you’re doing it 😅 I use chapstick for dry lips and always have it with me.

If you’re addicted to lip balm, find a lip balm with high UVA protection to be addicted to 😁

I love to use aquaphor it’s just repairing and moisturizing leaving my lips so soft and smooth.

I purposely formed a lip balm addiction. Mainly because before that I would rip the skin off my lips to the point of bleeding. So now I constantly put on lip balm whenever I have that urge, as a sort of replacement or whatever.

As someone who have tried out many lip balms, I can confidently say that vaseline isn't the best kind. I mostly use clear lip balms, and most of them doesn't soak into the skin it just remains there waiting to be smeared dry upon lip's contact with something and thus provide no help for the chapped skin, it felt even worse if small hard dead skin pokes out from the lips. Not to mention, application just look bland and plain on the lips as it doesn't compliment the skin at all, most also darkens the skin like some deodorants does to Armpits. While vaseline is very affordable and might work good for moisturizing certain body parts, it doesn't work best for lips. So I settled for Tender care; although not tinted, it isn't greasy or liquid-ish, even the container is small and adorable but the most important is the product. Although containing no colour the one I'm using) it makes my lips soft and pink-ish proving it's magic in moisturizing, furthermore it doesn't have any sight effects and works wonders.

I can never go on without lip balm because I have a habit of licking my lips when they're dry so I need something emollient on my lips to stop that.

I agree that some lip balms will keep your lips more dry when you stop using them. So they are making you want to use it more.

Just so y’all know- Lip balm from Burt’s Bees has no addicting or harmful chemicals in it so it is also a great choice if you have chapped lips!!!

I’ve learned that Vaseline isn’t probably the best one to use. It makes your lips more cracky and you want to use more. It’ll just make your lips worser

I use Aquaphor and it’s a life changer!!!! I don’t have to reapply all the time it’s so long lasting I put it on at night and my lips stay glossy in the morning 🤩‼️

as someone who uses Vaseline everyday, I can say I'm addicted to it.

Bert’s bee the original makes my chapped lips burn but then it feels better and almost instantly smoother. Over night they are healed. Love that stuff

Both products you mentioned are highly occlusive but don’t provide any actual moisture. I always end up using some body lotion on my lips and sealing with Vaseline.

I think it's because I'm used to having moisturized lips, so I'm always reapplying it.

I used to be so addicted to lip balm to the point that I would involuntarily wake up in the middle of the night just to reach for my lipbalm and re-apply. Thank goodness that's not the case now.

I used to use Burt’s Bees religiously, but the wax just made my lips feel even more dry than they were before I put on the lip balm, so now I’ve started using Aquaphor, and I don’t think I can ever use a different brand again at this point. Aquaphor is AMAZING

Also personal experience, Vaseline in those lip balm packs like lipstick can make your lips very dry. I stick to my old Vaseline small tub and that's the best

the addiction is feeling how soft your lips are and never wanting to have them dry again. + vaseline is the only lip balm i use and will forever recommend it if you have super dry lips.

I put lipgloss on as a anxiety comfort. If no one knows what I mean I pretty much put it on when I feel discomfort or scared.

As a chronic lip picker, I can say the Vaseline is one of the worst. It doesn't soak into the lip, it just sits there waiting to be disappear when you eat. It makes my lip drier if anything. So yes, I have been picking my lips ever since I was ~7 years old and now I'm 22. It get worse when I'm stress. I pick my lips to the point that the bloods drips down to my neck. TBH I love the pain. It's something indescribable. I think it allows me to focus on the physical pain instead of my mental pain which is stress. Back to the main topic. I just put a punch of pawpaw Lucas ointment on (by a punch, I mean a lot, like a thick layer of the ointment). So the urge to pick the lips somewhat go away. But regardless, lip-picking is a habit that mainly triggers by stress so no lip balms can alleviate it.

The vaseline rosy tub and aloe tub is so bomb im literally addicted its so creamy and hydrating and it looks like your wearing lip gloss 😭

I love lip butters. Once you try them, you can never go back. It’s so moisturizing for the lips.

I think people misconstrue chemical addiction and mental addiction. Anything can become an addiction, it’s just easier to get addicted to chemical addictions

I have used Vaseline for over a year to recover from the lip balm addiction I suffered from when I was a tween. It has done wonders on my super dry chapped lips! Love it!

Idk but I hate Vaseline on the lips. It feels like my skin just decides, naw she got Vaseline on now let’s just not send any moisture in that direction. My lips still feel dry, just with a heavy film on top now. I’ve had a lot of luck with humectants like hydrolaunic acid though, been loving the neutrogena hydro boost.

I have extremely chapped lips and no lip balm would work until I started using Clinique super balm and it has completely changed the lip game for me! Highly recommend if you’ve got really sensitive skin/lips!

I just use OKAY brand shea butter (yellow and white) from Walmart. It’s been my good and faithful for years. I use it as face moisturizer and body moisturizer ☺️

I’ve been told that I’m addicted to my lip balm. However, if I forget to have it on me, by 1/2 way through the day the top layer of my lips are so dry they are hard and I get cracked lips. My toddler never needed anything on his lips but now they crack also. He’s not as good as staying hydrated as I am but I drink a lot of water. I’m thinking it’s not just an addiction. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm addicted to lip balm. My favorite is the cocoa butter lip balm by cococare. I've only seen it at beauty supply stores. If I run out, Vaseline is the way.

Even with Vaseline, my dry lips get chapped WAY too quickly! I have to re-apply multiple times. (I have dry skin too, it dries out SO fast, especially my lips)

In South Africa we have a GREAT product called, Lip Ice, simply the best! You never get addicted to it, it just heal dry lips!!

I use lip balm because I used to have oil glands on my lips because they were constantly oily and dry but I use lip balm every day now to prevent that

My sister has been collecting lip balm since she was 9. She started of with chapstick, lip smackers and as she started earning money working at McDonald’s in her teens she got Mac, tarte, list goes on. She is 40 years old now. I did a declutter of our old house and threw out 9 boxes full of half used lip balm of various flavours such as coke, Fanta, key lime, mango, etc. She’s now just recently started using Vaseline, as she believes it’s the best lip moisturiser of all time.

I love Vaseline right before bed. I like the Aquaphor Protect & Repair SPF Stick for daytime. It has virtually no sunscreen flavor (I use it every day and only very very rarely do I notice it) and a natural finish. And unlike the one in the squeezy tube, it stays on really well and doesn't slide around.

Labello tinted ones are the bomb. I started using them last year and my lips almost didn’t chap at all this winter which used to be a huge problem.

Nah imma not use that petroleum jelly... My lips get super dry and I always use oil based lip balms cuz the expensive tinted ones don't really hydrate so I only use it above normal lip balm lol

Vaseline doesn’t do enough for me. Overnight I typically put a face moisturizer on my lips, let it soak in for a minute then a thick layer of Vaseline. Vaseline doesn’t add moisture rather locks what moisture you have. I tend to lack moisture to begin with. That has worked like a charm and I just apply lip balms throughout the day here and there.

If you got eczema, you got no choice. Vaseline clogs the pores around lip. Yep, some people have that alongside eczema.

I've been addicted to lip balm since I was a teen ager. I cant leave the house without it. I have about 15 tins of Vaseline balm plus a few others scattered around my house and in my bags

Storytime: I hate lip balm, but this once happened to me. My mom went to Venice for work and when she got back, she brought us presents. I saw that she bought me a Coca cola lip balm. I tried it some days later and holy shit that actually tasted like Coke. Then, I realized that they also sell them here and in other flavours. I bought a Fanta one, a Sprite, a Coke one again and I only wore them for their taste. I would carry them everywhere. I still like this kinda of lip balm and I can easily get addicted to it, it's just that every single one I bought expired now and I haven't gone and bought any new ones 😂

Honestly stopping using lip balm altogether was the best thing I ever did for my lips. I used to use it multiple times a day as my lips were always drying out. Turns out most lip balms do more harm then good so I threw away all of my lip balms and after about a week of super dry lips, they were finally healthy and normal. So to anyone else who struggles with really dry lips, please try stopping using all lip balms! You’ll have really awful and crusty lips for a week but they’ll be so much nicer afterwards 🥰 A tip if you’ve stopped using lip balm and your lips are really suffering: put a slice of cucumber over your lips. It’ll help soothe the dryness naturally.

I've heard chapstick addiction stems from replacing the normal moisturizing components your lips make naturally. Keep putting on chapstick, lips stop making natural moisturizers, then lips feel dry all the time and you end up using more chapstick....I've always thought that sounded legit😂
