Thank you. Finding and talking to a doctor that has even heard of this and won't just tell me I eat too much without asking is rare. This explained some things that are happening to me, I appreciate you and the woman that participated so much.
Oh my my! The explanation for flat feet... I am stunned. I need this surgery. Thank you for these tutorials. Bless you dear patients for allowing us a glimpse into your journey.
The surgery is only cosmetic and can increase swelling in the lower legs. Surgeons like to perform surgery, but that doesn't necessarily help patients. Flat feet can have more than one cause.
Surgery is most definitely not only cosmetic. For most women there is improved mobility and major reduction of pain, which for a majority of them is why they have it, not for cosmetic purposes.
@@robinlillian9471I’ve read a few of your comments on this post. You obviously need to educate yourself on Lipedema. Your ignorant comments are perpetuating the stigma attached to us ladies with this condition. Shame on you! Keep watching more of Dr Swartz’s videos you will learn the procedures help with leg swelling, are lymph sparing, & increase mobility, stops progression of joint deformities, or makes recovery from joint replacement surgery safer due to less tissue around the joints. The video about how the disease causes normal tissues to turn fibrotic was a catalyst for me to begin my search for help. Still on the journey, more doctors need educated on this disease.
This is the first time I've heard a doctor talk about the flat feet and side fat pocket on ankles and knees. I know I have lipodema but when I went to a vascular surgeon he just told me I have fat ankles and legs. Haven't found a doctor to help me yet in Canada.
I am so thankful I found this!! This is exactly my issue!🙏 I started realizing I had lipedema when my backside felt like it was blocking my blood flow to legs about 1yr ago this just further proves it! My flat feet came out of no where!😢
@@debbiemock3785knee replacement or partial knee replacement. I need this, currently both knees are bone on bone, but surgeon wants me to loose weight first and loose the extra tissue around my knees. That tissue is full of nodules 😢. I’ve discussed this with my PCP, surgeon, dermatologist & rheumatologist. None of which are well informed on Lipedema. We continue to search for someone who is & can help.
@debbiemock3785 Certain plastic surgeons use a for of liposuction that 'spares' the lymphatic system from what I gather. In addition the is also manual methods of getting the actual small lipomas out of the same incision if I understand correctly. I don't think there's many who do this yet but could be wrong.
@@mtnmagic1998 I've since a lot of doctors doing liposuction for this but so far he is the only one who does the MLE (Manual Lipedema Extraction). I feel that this is the only way to fix this.
Wow! I’m like 100% sure I have this. I had varicose veins badly and had extensive vein procedures several years ago but still have this. I went on Keto in 2019 and lost 65lbs and it helped some but not a lot. I’ve have this since puberty and think my mother and sisters did too. How do we find a doctor who specializes in this?
WOW!! MY LEGS🦵🦵 LOOK JUST LIKE HERS EVEN DOWN TO HAVING FLAT FEET TOO 😢😢😢😢😢😢 I PRAY I AM GOING TO HAVE THIS PROCEDURE DONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE! SWIM SUIT WITHOUT A COVER UP IS A GOAL OF MINE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I started wearing barefoot shoes 10+ years ago and i think that has helped but my knees are starting to bother me more in the last year. I'll focus more on my posture!
Where can I find you!? I have been on diets all my life and always stay active. I got on a starvation diet and got down to size 4 , and even then I noticed bumps in my legs. Now I am 36years, 220lbs , mom of three struggling to feel good, energetic and sexy again. My thighs look just like that lady . I am shocked that I found what the issue was all along. Please help!
