With B48 it enters the Blood stream With C2 it acts on the Capillary endothelium of muscle &fats With E it Enters into the liver

I remember Apo B48 = Chlymicrons as, "I just ate, so I have B48" (ate = 8) bc Chylomicrons are only present following dietary Triglyceride consumption.

Omg, this was a fantastic way to break it down. And the mnemonics for lipid transports are way too good. I've written all of them down on my First Aid.

B48 = transports into lymphatic system, HDL adds C2 and E, in the blood circulation. C2 activates LPL to release the triglycerides for storage E then then break them into remnants for recycling. The chylomicron goes into the liver where it will be recycled.

I dont get why insulin cause breakdown of triglycerides to form fatty acids i though this happen by glucagon or something during starvation... activating lipase shouldnt insulin promote triglycerides formation due to excess glucose in blood

doesn't Insulin 'drive' the fatty acids into the cells rather than 'break down' triglycerides into fatty acids? and I think ApoE is the key that allows the remnant Chylo. to "Enter" into the liver.
@amindonardi4470
@amindonardi4470 2 года назад
enterocytes abosrb fatty acids and cholestrol, packaging them into triacylglycerols inside chylomicrons, then they circulate the blood until they go to endothelial cells of capillaries neighbouring other tissues. They are converted back to fatty acids and other substances that can easily pass through the membrane there by LPL and there they are either used for more energy or converted to triacylglycerol by combining it with glycerol. insulin drives LPL, while glucagon drives HSL. Now why doesn't the human body just directly send triacylglycerols through the membrane....i have no clue, guessing it is too big.

8:25 threw me in for a loop man, wasted like 20 minutes trying to understand your whole explanation cause your're not wrong but you're also not entirely right either lol let me explain: You say that in type 1 DM you are unable to store fats because insulin mediates the breakdown of fatty acids and storage of said fatty acids which technically is like 10% of whats really going on. The true cause of the weight loss is the unnopposed action of glucagon which activates HSL within the adipocytes, and this in turn metabolizes stored fatty acids for energy production since these patients are unable to yield energy from the glucose . Like i said you're not wrong your wording is just confusing. Great video though honestly, I wouldnt have made it through these first 2 years of med school without some dirty little medicine, love your content my guy!
