Lipsense review and demo: does it work? A review from someone that does NOT sell it! I wanted to try this brand and found it so hard to find a non-bias review online, and so I decided to create one myself. I am not a distributor and do not sell it.

I just started using lipsense a couple weeks ago. I found that the garnier micellar water works to remove the lipsense too! It's a lot easier than using that bar soap.

That's exactly what I use as my makeup remover & for either of the two Lipsensce colors I have. However , I definitely won't be buying more...

The longer you use lipsense, the less you need to gloss. My first gloss was gone in a month but now after using it for several months, I hardly regloss.

Thank you so much as I was tired of finding distributor videos with click bait titles and/or videos of non distributors who advertised as such BUT they were advertising the product for friends/family always with pushing the sellers page where one could buy the products. Great video!

Make sure you shake it really really well too, it will help it apply more evenly.

Enjoyed your review. Just thought I would tell you that there is a Matte gloss. I haven't tried it. I've used all of the Lipsense products for about 2 1/2 months, & I love it. I'm not a distributor either!

That elf exfoliator has wax in it! Best to avoid all wax products if possible :) Also to get the subtle look you need a clear color like icicle or a light color like bombshell so that you still have 3 coats of lipsense to ensure its staying power. You just sandwich the bright color between two coats of clear!

dearleyla normally I would agree with the wax comment, but as an exfoliant that you wipe off, it's been a life saver. In terms of sheer coverage, lighter shades are obviously great choices, but the company tried to sell a 1 coat model as a light/sheer coverage with any colour -- which I think it fails brutally with.

Hey! Sorry I think my comment may have been unclear. I don't sell lipsense but whoever told you that you could just use 1 coat of lipsense was misinformed I believe! There is a lipsense color called icicle which is completely clear (it's not a gloss), and when you apply it as your first layer of lipsense, the following coat (a dark color for example) goes on much more smoothly, and looks more sheer. You then top those two layers with a third layer of icicle, so you now have 3 layers of lipsense (and thus the staying power of 3 layers) but you only have 1 true layer of color, and it's more sheer than that color would be with three coats. I hope that makes more sense! :)

Ya, I've seen a couple of sellers say that (about the 1 layer for a stained look), but thought it was a horrible sell. The icicle colour sounds like a great solution! I didn't know about it, but that's fabulous. Thanks!

Awesome honest video! Thanks for taking the time to make it. I am new using Lipsense (I only have 1 + Glossy right now) but I just ordered a couple more colors today and BlackBerry is one of them! Kind of a wild card but I think the look, when done right (like in this video) is fabulous.

You are supposed to apply 3 layers. If you want a lighter look I suggest getting Icicle, the clear color.

Not sure that you can buy directly on the website -- I think it still refers you off to someone, but yes, amazon is a great resource, too! So glad you found the video helpful. :)

Is the gloss transferable or sticky? Like if I give hubby a kiss will he have a clear glossy kiss mark or will my hair get stuck to my lips if the wind blows.

The gloss will definitely transfer, but it's lightweight, so it's not goopy or gross if you give your hubby a kiss. It's also lightweight enough that when it's windy it won't make your hair stick to your mouth.

I just wipe off the color on the ooops on a cloth or paper towel :) I use the ooops to remove the color because it won't dry my lips out. I used the neutrogena bar for a while but my lips got super dry, I just have it for back up or emergencys now lol. The ooops removes it really well you just need to let it sit about 1 minute :)

Yes, It a hydrating gloss that make you have a matte finish and truly works. Also compared to other mattes, it's non-drying. I'm a matte girl, when I tried it I was amazed by how nice it felt.

What about the smell and taste of it?

Doesn't really have much of a smell (unless you're sticking your nose close to the bottle.). If you do, it smells a bit alcohol like (which doesn't last...and again you won't really smell anyway), but otherwise it's not really worth mentioning. No taste whatsoever.

Just a small few of my customers have commented on the “taste” of LipSense color. That “taste” does go away....
