I'm going to practice gratitude by saying how grateful I am for the wisdom that God has imparted into Lisa Harper. I'm also grateful that I discovered this show last year. I'm grateful that God the creative idea to start this show. I'm grateful that this video spoke to those of us who deal with depression. And I'm grateful of how well this was edited. Is it possible that there can be a teaching or video on how to meditate on the Word of God? Sometimes I hear people say that it means to think on a scripture. I've also heard that it means to feed on the scripture. There was a minister that has now gone home to be with the Lord. His name is Bro. Kenneth E Hagin and he once said "meditate" means to mutter to yourself. I'd like to hear more about it because it has definitely not been a sermon topic that I've heard in years and years.
I can talk a little about how meditation works for me. I was also confused on this at some point! Before I knew Christ, I usually meditated to rain sounds, focusing on the breath or guided meditations. Once I started reading the word, the purpose of meditating was not to empty my mind (which was almost impossible 4 me) but to turn my soul towards God. I could still sit in silence or listen to nature sounds, but now I think on scriptures like they suggest. It’s kind of like vedic meditation which focuses on a mantra or positive affirmation to calm the mind. Whatever passage it is - one I want to memorize, a verse to tame my negative subconscious thoughts or whatever resonates with me - I will just repeat it to myself. For instance, once I’m done reading and taking notes, I’ll take a verse that stands out to me. I would sit in silence and recite Mark 5:34 “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace” over and over, focusing on my breath and my body and allowing his word to flood my mind. I always feel calm, grateful and my mind is soo clear afterwards. Either that or I have a better understanding and insight of what the passage really means for which I’ll take more notes after. It’s basically just pondering and intentionally letting the verse sit with you for longer. Let me know if this helps
Im in a season where God is teaching me how to deal with anxiety and worry and how to just rely more on Him. The verse that Lisa was talking about in Philippians 4 has been doing great things for me and each time i find myself being anxious about anything i go to that verse and read it over an over and then i just place the thing that im anxious about at the feet of Jesus and when i do that i tell myself there is no longer any reason to be anxious or worry about it because i have left it at the King's feet and i walk away free. What then follows amazes me because Jesus responds, he fixes whatever was worrying me, he sends people to come help me when i least expect it. Another thing that has helped me is talking out my fears and anxieties to someone. There was a time i had really dark intrusive thoughts all the time and i just decided one day to tell my mom and my sister what i was struggling with and the words that flowed out of them were just heaven sent and from that day i never had those thoughts anymore.
I've suffered from severe depression since I was a kid. Always new I was different and I didn't belong. It got worse as I got older. It wasn't until the last year and a half that taking steps to get a handle on this and not let it contribute to destroy my life. I owe everything to Jesus for bringing me a special person to my life and recognize the battle I've been in. She's been an amazing woman heaven sent and I'm going to marry her. She sent me this video this morning and it hits home. Thank you and God bless you!

This is great. Just what I needed today. When it comes to asking others for help, sometimes it's hard because some people just don't care enough to help. I asked some people for help and they never got back to me. After that I just said to God to send people that really would WANT to help.

I live with depression and anxiety disorder its very hard no confidence in my self no matter what anyone says I have been told so much negative that I do believe in my myself. My mother is very godly women and she has helped ..me I say in Jesus so am i
