This season got a 90% from critics and 92% from everyone else, definitely deserves SEVERAL more seasons!

An absolute masterpiece on every level. The 37 yr wait was worth it and more.

What is the most lovely about all of this is that it respects the 1982 film by staying puppetry. Many shows now and days are so eager to cop out to CGI that you lose the magic of the reality, the practicality of things. Seeing so many people put time and effort into making this a real world fantasy is so amazing and Jim, surely, would have just been elated to see his vision being brought to a whole new audience.

Just saw the Netflix series and it's so beautiful. I want more!

NETFLIX PLEASE GIVE US THE SECOND SEASON THIS IS A MASTERPIECE

This is truly the series of the year. Forget G.O.T, westworld etc. The Dark Crystal just blows them away with amazing characters and a wonderful story. This brought me back to Netflix

This show was insane. It not only exceeded my expectations it totally blew them away. I'm watching it again after finishing it Monday with my partner. It absolutely added an element to modern fantasy that was missing but also is so so so unique and new. Incredible. And THE. MUSIC. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS SHOW

What you guys have created here is something truly unique. One of the best fantasy stories I have watched in recent years. Thank you for giving me this experience! I hope the The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance receives the recognition it deserves.

I absolutely loved this prequel to The Dark Crystal. It builds on the original movie and improves everything it had to offer. Everyone has much more personality, the lore is richer, the world is overflowing with magic and wonder, the creatures pop off the screen, and the decision to make this a series rather than a movie solved every problem the restraints of a movie on a world this size had. Everyone has much more time to be developed, and no one misses a trick. Everything that made the skeksis evil, repelling, loathsome, and frightening is pushed to very brave places. Various call-backs/homages to the original don't go unnoticed or unappreciated either. I could go on forever about why I love this series, but, what I really want more is a second season.

never since I was a child have I´ve felt so invested in an imaginary world again as when I was privileged to binge all episodes on a very great TV set. The dedicated craftsmanship, the artiste clever and well planned dialog that made the motivations feel true to characters. This is type of handcraft you seldom see in this new age of rapid and sloppy screen writing and productional interference and involvements with no true passion of the product they try to sell. This was a revisit to Thra not just made well, but masterful. I am still in awe of what you did and how it made me feel. And in a world when remakes an nostalgia money quick-grabs don't leave much of hope for any tasteful productions anymore. You gave me ten episodes of my most precious time of my childhood back to me and I am for ever great full. THANK YOU FOR MAKING AN OLD MAN FEEL LIKE A BOY AGAIN!

It’s not often I binge watch something for 10 hours and then want to immediately rewatch it all again. Truly phenomenal and engaging. I can’t wait for more!

True art at its finest. Perfect writing, design, graphics and so much more. I thought for sure someone would mess this up somehow but it stayed true to the original storyline as a prequel. I am so impressed and so in love with this new Netflix series. I hope the world sees this and takes away a little piece of the magic that this series has created.

Such a masterpiece of storytelling. I highly recommend watching it whether you've seen the Dark Crystal or not. Seriously go watch Age of Resistance!

I was so blown away by this season, it’s adds more to the story of the Dark Crystal and I sure hope they green light a second season. I can see this series go on for sometime.

I dont think they realise just how special what theyve created is. It completely blows everything else our of the water. Beyond fantastic, beyond amazing. This series deserves all the awards. You can see and FEEL all the love and hard work that went into creating this show. It translates so beautifully on screen and it so captivating. I'm just do glad that Netflix had the budget available for this masterpiece! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the pleasure of attending this exhibit. They even let me in to the screening of the first episode of the series a week before it premiered on Netflix. The atmosphere in there was incredible - not a dry eye in the house. Everyone jumped up and cheered and applauded and cried at the end. The rest of the series didn't disappoint. The decision to cancel it did.

I just watched the entire thing and I have to say, even though everything is a 10/10, the music is what really put the nail in the coffin. That music when a great moment is incoming made it so much more magical and stunning. I freaking love this show and hope you’ll make more!

To be honest I was very skeptical when I heard about this series about one of my favourite childhood movies. Ive experienced so many dissapointments with sequels to great movies, like Tron. But after actually seeing and experiencing the efford and the pure movie magic and hard work that went into the making of this series... I fell in love with it AGAIN. It is so fresh, yet still handmade and brought to life with so much love for detail, story and characters. Its amazing! And it is wonderful to see that true moviemaking and respect for source material still exists. Thank you for this wonderful piece of art in a dull world of bad movies.

This show was everything I had hoped for and more. Thank you Netflix! Please make more content- perhaps a Prequel movie to this prequel show that showcases Raunip and how Aughra was deceived in the first place by the urSkeks and how they split?

the dark crystal is one of my favorite movies of my childhood and with this series in everyone of the chapters i cry a lot of how exiting feel to see this world again thank you so much for bring back this amazing animation

i was completely overwhelmed by this! it most certainly lived up to the original story and did Jim Henson's vision proud! I have to say when i first heard about this last summer i had great doubts about it, i was in a bad place at the time in my head and my mental health issues were at their peak and the whole idea of it was just "meh", but it made me put the movie on as i hadn't seen it in a long long time and its one of my favourite guilty movies of all time (the ones you say you hate to everyone but secretly you know it line for line lol BIG part of my childhood) i don't know what it was but when that opening line started something clicked in my head, i sat and took everything i saw and heard on the screen in, it set my imagination off like it had the first time i watched it as a child! It inspired me to get up and use that imagination to write, draw and create something again, lifting me out of that dark place. I recently started to doubt what I've been working on wondering if it is worth it but this series has ridden me of that doubt and inspired me again, brought back that feeling i got as a child imagining what Gelfling civilisation was like or how the world of Thra looked before it was ravaged, all those questions that set my mind cogs turning. Sometimes i think we need more dark tales like this to get peoples imaginations going and inspire, even if it's just for a moment or two. Anyway, enough going on, thank you for keeping me on track and can't wait for a second season! (sorry to anyone who read through this shite lol 👍🤪)

Yesterday i just finished the series and saw the documentary and WOW, what a show. Anyone who grew up with the 1982 Jim Henson fantasy classic who is either an 80s kid or a 90s kid (ones who saw it on video or on Disney Channel in the 90s) or even those who are 80s/90s kids hybrids like me (born 37 years ago and adored the movie for for 33 years since i was 4 when my parents bought me the movie on VHS at 4 then 25 years ago i rebought the movie on Disney's VHS when i was 13 in 94 then in 2000 i replaced the tape with DVD then in 2009 with blu-ray and last year i bought the ultraHD 4K BD which is my first UltraHD 4K BD purchase). What do you get when you cross Game of Thrones, Robert E Howard, Frank Herbert, George Martin, JRR Tolkein, Demolition Man (themes of so-called benevolent leaders where rebels can see greed and deception), Avatar (both airbender and Cameron), Fire and Ice (1983), Star Wars, Legend of Zelda and Fraggle Rock? you get this epic series. I love the world building, different gelfling tribes, the origin of how Skektek got his eye removed and all that. Maybe in season 2 we'll get a flashback of how the Urseks came and split into the two different races. All in 10 60 minute episodes in a miniseries kind of way. Even some rousing action in episode 10. And i hear there will be more mystics in season 2 and maybe in season 2 even Garthims and maybe a background flashback of the Urseks. This is using practical effects, animatronics, people in suits, puppets, cgi, models and all balanced together and is a passion project made by people who have an actual love of the original and honoring Henson's legacy and respecting the material just like Blade Runner 2049 was to Blade Runner as that was an excellent sequel. This and Blade Runner 2049 succeeded where lazy halfassed attempts to bring back retro properties like Ghostbusters Robocop, Elm Street etc failed miserably because those have no passion or care for those properties but made for a quick buck where Blade Runner 2049 and this show are made by people who care/respect the source material and do new stories even passion for the project. This looks like it's doing Jim proud! and nice cast too even Mark Hamil as the scientist. Good job Jim Henson Company! my favorite show of the year

I watched this movie plenty of times when it first came out! Brings back memories, I actually have the dvd; I bought it about 3 years ago.

I rly like Louise after this. I love how he directs the credit towards the puppeteers because they're the heart and soul of movies like this and yet get shafted when it comes to acknowledgement and recognition.

There were some films I thought my mind repressed, but I'm so glad Netflix was able to rekindle that horror, that fear of power and corruption. Simply because I forgot what an actual masterpiece the first one was.

One reason we remember Chamberlain - apart from his distinctive voice - is because he's the only one from the movie who's NAME is mentioned! We didn't know what any of the other Skeksis were called, apart from the Emperor. I'm so glad the new season addressed this. All we need now is to see all the Mystics in Season 2 and hear them sing! We've GOT to hear them all sing!!

I loved this show so much, i can tell yall put so much work into it. This is probably the best underrated show tbh. People need to live a little, i dont understand the rating. I would like a season 2 but i know the news already. :(

What we have here is pure gold.. If you want to do a second season, don´t rush it... Do it with love and patience. All good things take some time.

Theres a lot of haters out there who aren't even old enough to know Dark Crystal. Its beautiful and brings me back to a better time. Its Gorgeous and fantastical just like the movie yet still uses puppeteers and makes it even more beautiful. Yes there is some CG but the characters are not. It's amazing. It sent me through a time warp and invoked the same emotions I had when I was a child. I already watched the series twice. The Henson family did not let anyone down. Amazing! Hands down! Now please give us a new Fraggle Rock!
