Lalisa is her name. Lisa for short. And none of them are from LA. Lisa is from Thailand. Jisoo born and raised in Korea. Jennie is Korean but spent most of her school years in New Zealand (as evidenced by her accent). Rosé is Korean but was born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia and has a strong Aussie accent.
@@nickforell1 Pretty sure that was Teddy, one of BPs early Producers who spent time in LA as a performer before joining YG. He has now left YG main label and has joined YG subsidiary Black Label
@@TrumanLakeTriton Teddy didn't "join" The Black Label. Teddy is the founder and owner of The Black Label. (YG owns a large percentage too. But Teddy is the largest shareholder.)
Lisa's "Money dance performance", " Shoong" (with Taeyang from Bigbang that drop today), and "SG" (sexygirl with DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna) Pleaseeeee
73.6 MILLION VIEWS ON RU-vid IN 24 HRS(Guinness World Record). Love Lisa.... Love "LaLisa"(Lalisa Manobal is Lisa's NAME), it's basically her story. And shows off her versatility as an Idol. And I love the shout out to her sisters in BlackPink "Jet Black and Pink Crown Belongs to WE" Bringing Thai elements into the song... Black & Gold, instruments, and even hand gestures. She is The Thai Princess
Here are the other solo/collab projects from the members so you can see them as individuals and see what they become as Blackpink. Lisa - "Money" Lisa - "Shoong!" by Taeyang feat. Lisa Lisa - "SG" by DJ Snake with Ozuna, Megan Thee Stallion, Lisa Jennie - "Solo" Jennie - "Black" by G-Dragon feat. Jennie Rose - "On The Ground" Rose - "Gone" Rose - "Sea of Hope" series of live performances Jisoo - "Flower" Jisoo - "All Eyes On Me"
This MV won her the BEST K-POP from VMA & EMA last year. LALISA is her real name, it's mean THE ONE WHO'S PRAISED or LOVE in THAI (she's THAI) that's why she said " CALL ME LALISA - LOVE ME".
In case you're interested, "Bekuh Boom" wrote most of BLACKPINK's hit singles (including Lalisa's solos). She's a fascinating (almost tragic) character in the story. Some love her style in K-Pop, others hate it, but most don't know she exists. For more of Bekuh Boom, check out "K/DA - Pop/Stars".
Definitely do a documentary. It is a lot of them usually telling their own story. They are masters of comedy. So comedy show appearances are always great. Any interactions with their bandmates are hilarious. I think they were sent on vacation a couple times with cameras following them everywhere,... so it was really just working again and made into reality shows.
Only Lisa can pull off a song like this, She is the Queen. Who else could make a song telling everyone to say My Name, and Love Me LALISA in a debute song. This song and Money are her best work so far. She has two collabs so far. "SG" - DJ Snake, Ozuna, Megan thee Stallion and Lisa "Shoong" Teayang from Big Bang featuring Lisa
I love when she sings "the crown belongs to WE" then you hear someone else say BlackPink. Shows support for the other 3 members. I also like when she walks in rapping with the megaphone and her SWAT team has Polisa badges. She represents so much global diversity from LA to Thailand Queen. also the jacket ... The graphic set, designed by the Mexican brand No Name, combines images of Iron Maiden and KISS with Mexican culture. Look closely and you’ll see many beautiful details in the print, including the face of Our Lady of Guadalupe (the Virgin Mary) and the Aztec sun stone. She might come off as a vicious badass in her song lyrics and MVs but in real life she is about as vicious as a fluffy puppy
The first outfit that Lisa was wearing, with the rock theme, is by Mexican designer NONAME, not too expensive (around $250-$300) but unfortunately that design is sold out. All of the clothes that the members wear, whether in interviews, photo shoots or performances, sell out almost immediately. Each member is a Global Ambassador for different luxury brands.
Thanks for the fun reaction! If you get a chance, you might like to check out "Shoong!". It's a song that Taeyang dropped just yesterday and features Lisa with a rap and dance segment.
Great Reaction Nick Forell! Just a little fun fact about Lalisa M/V The video is 3 minutes and 27 seconds long which is her birth month and her ATV has number 97 on the side which is her birth year! 03/27/1997!💃🙏🏻
Lisa was born Pranpriya in Thailand but her name was changed to Lalisa at the advice of a fortune teller and success would come her way. True story. Teddy, BP 's producer is from LA.
@@nickforell1 Teddy couldn't get a rap contract in America, unfortunately due to bigotry he experienced. S Korea has become a mecca for aspiring singers n dancers. Teddy got a rap contract from YG entertainment n worked his way up the ranks. His dream was to create Blackpink to become a world wide super group, with 3 of them being fluent in English. BP is more hip hop n R&B with a few other genres.
Great reaction, but you will have to do Lisa exclusive performance to the B side of Lalisa, 'Money', which actually has more views then this track. You won't be disappointed
She is from Thialand and her name is Pranpria. Before going to Korea she went to a fortune teller who told her to change her name to Lalisa and she would become famous. Lalisa means - the one who is praised.
She is the first KPop soloist to win Best KPop from MTV VMAs with Lalisa. She also won an EMA with Lalisa. Fun fact... Her birth name is not Lalisa. It is Pranpriya. She changed it to Lalisa (one who is praised) when she was younger after a fortune teller told her that it would bring her great fortune.
@@nickforell1 speaking of Money... you should check out her Exclusive Dance Performance Video to her other single... Money 😂 She also has an awesome collab with another KPop artist that just came out today... Taeyang ft Lisa - Shoong
Interesting, " not gonna messed with Lisa!" .... uncountable people had said that, LOL, bro .... none of us will likely ever get that chance. Nevertheless, nice reaction bru' 👍🤣
While they are popular stateside and continue to grow, through people like yourself, I don't think most in this country dor or can completely understand how MASSIVE Blackpink is outside the United States.....
They're all I listen to now', I used to have tons of different music on my player, but now All I have is BlackPink and all their Solos''''' I can't get enough of them'
Lisa was named by her father Panpaya Montoban before he abandoned her and her mother. When she auditioned for YGE, she went to her Spiritual Advisor (She is a devout Buddhist) and she was told to change her name to LaLisa for good luck and prosperity. She is 100% Thai. Their Producer is Teddy Park, a former K-pop rapper/Producer for YGE. At the time, Jennie was in LA filming the Idol and she bought a house there where BP has spent some time. The imagery is LaLisa as a Buddhist Goddess (Yadim), she is is titled as a treasure of Thailand and gets royal treatment in her home country. Some people call this a brag or flex song... others argue it's not bragging if it is true.
Lisa is from Thailand Rose’ is from Australia Jennie is from New Zealand Jisoo I’d from Korea Watch there interview with Zach Zang Warning you will get a lot of info I them but will fall for them even harder They are so gracious But bad asses at the same time Ok Each of them are uniquely beautiful In every way
You should watch her youth with you 2 and 3 performances she was a dance mentor ,also lalisa is like this intentionally, she said she wanted to show people everything, singing ,dancing and rapping and both badass concept and cute concept 💖
I think blacklabel is better pure in talent than yge Enternetement. Because Taeyang know lisa as good singer from Audition until now then he talk ask collab to lisa and her sound lisa such good . They realise collab on The blacklabel
If you want a really good Korean female artist, check out Bibi. Her music is much more mature, usually quite dark. And she writes her own songs, very involved in making her music. Very beautiful girl, unique voice. Check out her popular music vids: Vengeance, Animal Farm, Jotto, Kazino, The Weekend
The amazing thing is that it isn't even her best or most popular music video, that is "Money". Lalisa (her legal name, Lisa is her stage name) broke the record for views in 24 hours by a solo artist (73 million vs. prior record holder Taylor Swift's 63 million). Lalisa came out a year ago and has 610 million views. Lisa's Money came out 2 months after Lalisa, and currently has 820 million views. You need to react to Money. Then Jennie's Solo (over 900 million views), then Rose's Gone and On the Ground. Then Jisoo's Flower, which I believe is a surprise hit beyond anyone's expectations. Lisa's, Rose's and Jennie's solo success was expected, especially since they used all or mostly all English in their MV's. Jisoo's Flower, pure Korean language MV, first female kpop song to chart on UK's Top 40. Flower has set the record for pre-sales (1.25 million) and first week sales by a female Kpop Idol. Jisoo is killing it, especially in Korea where her current brand ranking far exceeds any other celebrity (Jennie and Lisa are 4 and 5). Jisoo may not have the stage charisma that Jennie and Lisa have, but she is extremely popular in South Korea, Japan, and China. Jisoo is also a very talented dramatic Lead Actress, and in Korea's pecking order, serious actors are held in higher esteem than music Idols, just like in the US.
The only music that's questionable is their very first stuff, which is actually hard to find unless you dig''''', yet it's not terrible, but them songs just weren't written or produced by the guy they have now', the dude they have now'', kicks ass'''''''''.
Of all BLACKPINK's solo songs LALISA is the worst, it lacks lyrics and its change of rhythm are so drastic that it seems like a mix of several songs in one, however its music video is excellent and shows the different facets of LISA, even pays homage to the THAI culture since that is the country of origin of LISA. These are BLACKPINK's SOLOs and I list them in order according to my personal taste. 1- HARD TO LOVE (LYRICS) 2- MONEY (PERFORMANCE VIDEO) 3- SOLO (MV) 4- GONE (MV) 5- FLOWER (MV) 6- ALL EYES TO ME (LYRICS) 7- ON THE GROUND (MV) 8- YOU AND ME (LYRICS) 9- LALISA (MV)
@Nick Forell Don't listen to that Lisa hater. Watch Lalisa (documentary video) Lisa has received racist messages because she's not Korean n from Thailand. It details that in one of the segments. Lalisa is her opening solo mv and it's all about her. Especially the ending that shows her pride in being from Thailand. Lalisa in fact was the first kpop song to win an MTV award.
@@nickforell1 and Lalisa is actually still my favorite solo (tho I enjoy all of them, it's just the one I listen to the most). So everyone has differing opinions 🤷♀️ Once you've reacted to all of them you'll find a favorite too :)
