Great interview Alan and while I feel any child under 18 should not be allowed to undergo sex change operations or be given harmones or puberty blocking drugs. Until they are 18 because their bodies are still devoloping The does not mean they and their parents don't need our support or other types of gender affirming care such as mental health services. Its like the old Depeche mode song people are people. And my heart goes out to Lisa and her transgender child who identifies as a girl. And shame on these awful politicians like Ron DeSantis and the so called fake conservatives who think it's okay to weaponize people like that her child is an adult and should have every right to be able to acess the drugs or hormones since her child is an adult. Ohh and shame on these fanatical so called evangelical Christians that's not Christianity it's hate. And ohh I have a transgender sibling who I knew as my brother but now suddenly at almost 60 years old came out as transgender and transitioned a year ago. And well I knew he was bisexaul for years with a wife and kids that was quite a shock to me. When he sudenly announced in a shocking manner that he was transgender and always felt like a female inside when he never gave any indications ever over the years before that. But even with that situation which was right out of a jim reilly like days or passions storyline. That does not mean I should have hate for others who feel like that because I think this is happening so much now because the universe is trying to teach us to be more compassionate. And ohh I hate when others try to use religion to spew homophobic hate especially evangical Christians. And try to justify it through the old testament or tanekh using altered words that are not even correct in the original Hebrew or imply a completely different meaning. To spew hate and then when someone like me tells them no you are wrong then have the nerve to argue about it. And that's why most people who practice judiasm dont spew that hate except for extreme orthodox phanetical jews. Who dare use the term hasidic when what they practice is anything but what the actaul hasids or essenes practiced or cohans with the white gowns. So now I just broke a language barrier essene and hasid means the same thing. Which is light bearer in the original Hebrew. Sorry for my rant but it is so disgusting when someones loved one has to leave the state just to get the care they need. And they are an adult. And can't even get the other parts that go with gender affirming care. Such as mental health services. Ohh and guess what even if someone is under 18 if a girl likes wearing boys clothes that's okay same with boys. If they like dresses fine. Ohh and one other thing the late randy Rhodes who was anything but gay had to wear women's jeans because he was very short and they did not then have men's jeans in his size. And he wore makeup and had long hair. Like the glam movement And had long finger nails so he could bend the guitar strings easier and dig in. Just saying it's not black and white. And I will end with this the world and television right now could use some Douglas Marland right now. Because if he was around or harding Lemay or even Agnes nixon still they would right a great well written tasteful storyline to show some love to the transgender community it might be for 6 months maybe like the hank elliot storyline but it would be good and very well written. With the right intent.
@@TheLocherRoom I watched it awhile ago but I was trying to figure out how to respond because I have my views on this topic. Especially when it comes to kids under 18. And I do not think it is okay to mess with children's bodies and that Includes pumping them up with prescription narcotics drugs for so called adhd or whatever it's like my late grandmother said on the topic shortly before she died. Teachers and Schools need to understand that everyone learns differently and learn how to tolerate differences. And stop trying to medicate children up just because they learn differently. And the same I think applies across the board because their bodies and brains are still developing. Thats just how I feel about it. But with all that said parents of transgender kids still need services and mental health services because depression and anxiety issues go along with it often. And I am okay with that. Just no more surgeries and hormones and puberty blocking drugs for any transgender child under 18.
