The fact that Lisa got upset when Marge told her “it’s Bart’s birthday.” I can get behind Marge not knowing Bart’s current interests (especially since tweens and teens don’t usually open up to stuff like that, coming from experience), but Lisa can literally solve a crime just cuz a coffin was shaped weird. She *KNEW* what she was doing

The fact Lisa actually looked offended when her mother tried to tone down her ego for her literal brothers birthday

After Marge said it was his birthday, Lisa's expression looked unhappy

At first I fought Bart was a bad person but now all I want to do is give this kid a hug😢

The way she got mad when her mom said it's Bart's birthday was just so sad

When Lisa was born Ned should've went up to bart and said "all kids deserve parents...but not all parents deserve kids

It's so sad because if you've actually seen the show then you know that even if not with evil intent, she is always making everything about her and her whole day is ruined by the smallest inconvenience or not having everything practically perfect.

When I was young, I liked Lisa, but now that i’m older, I resonate with Bart.

The fact that Lisa didn't wait for Bart to blow out his candles. She truly always needs to be the center of attention

This is why I’ve always hated Lisa. She’s egotistical and always has to be the best and isn’t afraid to stomp on Bart if it means making herself better

I mean isn't that everything with Lisa? She is always the centre of attention. while Bart is just a troublemaker that is horribly abused by his negligent mother (who doesn't even bother to keep up with her son's interests) and abusive alchaholic of a father. I m, mean Lisa gets a hell of a lot more attention and praise

There's nothing worse than this. Bart has every right to be upset with his sister in this.

Bart is a troublemaker because of his alcoholic father and negligent mother who doesn't bother to help him. Lisa on the other hand is constantly praised so Bart clearly felt as if she was more important. The only time Marge ever really speaks to Bart is telling him not to do this, don't do that. At the end of the day, its not Barts fault Edit:It's been three months, why are people still liking an replying to this

I remember the episode when Lisa got bumped up to the third grade and Bart got bumped down to the third grade. She couldn't stand that bart was the smartest kid in the class. When she found out that Bart had memorized the test, she tattled on him. This backfired and raised his grade up to an A+

Which is funny because in the earlier seasons Lisa was the one who never got any attention. Allegedly.

The sad part is eventually at the end of the episode she says everything wrong in his life is his fault as if he hasnt been neglected by his parents his whole life

Honestly one of the worst feelings ever is feeling as if you're the least special person on your birthday. My grandad got sick on my 18th so my mother had to go to the hospital, the whole family was worried and they also had jobs to do, my younger siblings went over to our cousin's house to play and I was left alone, at the end of the day they invited over relatives to have a little party, but all they did was play fifa with my older brother. They couldn't get me any presents since everyone was busy so there was just a card saying happy birthday with some money in it left on the table. I felt like nothing that day, my big 18th was just an annoyance to everybody around me. Everyone I knew went out on their 18th birthday and had a huge party with friends and family. I was just left alone, the one thing I wished for when I blew out my candles was to be happy. I still haven't been granted that wish. I still feel like nothing.

Marge is great mom. She always tries her best to treat all of her children equally.

Watching your child grow up is both the hardest and proudest thing a mother can go through. Even though these guys been the same age for over 30 years, but that's besides the point.

Poor Bart. He deserves better than his family. If I could, I’d take him out to anywhere he wants and away from them.

Lisa is smarter to know better. Yet she pushes to be the center of attention.

I know how this feels. My sister never did this but whenever my sister needs something she got it no questions asked. Back then if she asked for a ride to her friends my Dad just said sure. But whenever I just needed a ride down the road to Walmart it was such an inconvenience and was annoyed even though my trip was alot shorter than her's. I was always ignored growing up. My sister got the most respect from everyone in my family. I'm still treated like garbage from people who never even took the chance to know me so it's like being in school except everyone just thinks i'm scum. People I thought were friends and people I could trust turn on me or abandon me and if I tried ot get in touch they get mad or blocked me. To this day I still feel like no one gives a damn about me and every day just feels like a failure.

I relate to this so much. Yesterday my brother was laying on the couch crying, I was right by them eating, when my dad asked him what happened, he said that I was being mean to him, I did absolutely nothing, but because he’s the favorite, they didn’t listen to my story, and they took away my phone for the rest of the day

It's not just Lisa.... The fact that Homer told Bart to humor his mom despite it being his birthday... Marge-- it's all of them, Lisa just made it worse than it already was

I dont watch new simpsons like I did as a kid but I really enjoy episodes that show the kids at different ages

I just wanted to give Bart a hug when watching this whole episode, he really needs it

It gets worse from there, when Bart is 15 and gets hurt, Lisa helps him, which angers Bart saying that "it still has to be about you".

As an elder sibling, I felt this.

I can relate to this a lot. My brother was born a few days after my birthday, and he's younger. (And the favored child) The day I turned 13, they forgot. They were all busy getting his party set up. Just for some context, he always gets a big party at a trampoline park or something while I get a cupcake and a 10-dollar gift card. When I asked if I could make cupcakes for my birthday, my parents just said, "Your brothers 7th birthday is important, we can celebrate yours another day." So, I spent my birthday alone in my bedroom and never even got a happy birthday.

That arrogant and pissed face she made when Marge said, that it is Bart‘s birthday shows us that the writers ruined this character

Lisa had some real balls to say that

That’s how it feels sometimes when someone younger than you is doing better than you ever did, you just start to lose hope in anyone seeing more out of you, and after that you drift along the prospect of getting better or getting worse, you dip into one or the other randomly but you never can stay. It’s how it feels, especially when they dont even know what to get you and whatnot

Lisa has always been attention seeker. For example in one episode Bart finds the diary of Edna krabappel ( RIP ) and reads that she had always believed in someone she describes like him. He feels so motivated and heartwarmed by this that he actually tries to get good grades, and does. But Lisa is suspicious of it and finds the diary. Turns out Mrs. Krabappel was talking about her cat. Lisa then tells Bart the fact, right before entering a spelling bee. Lisa absolutely destroys Barts confident just for her own ego. She really is a smart kid, but she doesn't know how to think about the people around her, only herself. Barts been through some stuff the last 34 years. 😔

There are 3 sides to this story. 1. Lisa did not intentionally ruin Bart's birthday, and just got excited about the news. 2. Lisa did intentionally ruin Bart's birthday to be the center of attention. 3. If Lisa doesn't stop wanting to be the center of attention, she will INTENTIONALLY ruin Bart.

Bart is hardy appreciated by the other characters in the show, he shows that if he really tries he can be really good at something but most of the time Marge doesn’t care and praises Lisa for every little thing while homer rarely cares about anything.

The dynamics in the Simpsons absolutely changed completely from those first few seasons.

This is one of the reasons why everyone hates Lisa like the fact that you do that on your brothers birthday is just crazy and the fact that Bart even changed the name for her is wild. I bet she doesn’t feel bad

You can see in barts eyes, depression has its grip on him, glad to know he continues on though throughout the series, it wouldn't be the same without him
