@@andrewschmal6004 just saw her in The Daughter of The Regiment in the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She was absolutely awesome, and great acting, too. To my opinion, The Daughter's arias do not fully show Lisette's coloratura talents which are considered right now the greatest in the opera world. Her singing and acting were sublime, so was the rest of the cast, she and Lawrence were great together. I went to see Lisette, but it was totally a great production. We were just lucky here in Chicago, thank you, Lyric, God bless. She is hard to get nowadays.

Io non sono molto esperto di opera, dato che è solo da qualche tempo che mi sto appassionando ad esse. Tutto ciò premesso, il mio giudizio su questa artista, dopo aver ascoltato nella medesima opera la divina Callas, è superlativo.
@MrRicardobotti
@MrRicardobotti 3 месяца назад
Oropesa è oggi come oggi la miglior Violetta. La Callas nel complesso ha molto da offrire, ma le sue performance erano altalenanti , a volte molto bene a volte così così, ma aveva molto pathos.

This blood and naturalism are completely unnecessary in opera.A singer should create an image with his voice and artistry.This is the bad taste of an opera director.
@MrRicardobotti
@MrRicardobotti 3 месяца назад
It's a choice. Of course we've seen Violettas that look extremely healthy and well fed, and we can still realize with her voice that she's "dying". I think in this way they are creating a whole atmosphere, she's using her voice and artistry, so we have the sound and we also have the sight. Opera has always been played in theaters and has always had stage an props to suit the theme. There's even been naked versions of operas. You see a lot more in movies and nobody seems to worry.
@proteus6366
@proteus6366 3 месяца назад
@@MrRicardobotti You're wrong.Music is not a movie, and even more so, it is not a documentary. Excessive documentalism only limits our imagination.In order for music to affect us more strongly, there must be an opportunity for us to complete the image that we see, actively participate in a musical event with our imagination.The blood flows are completely unnatural with this disease and everything looks gone.How unnatural it is for a woman dying of tuberculosis to sing in a beautiful , powerful and healthy voice .If you decide to follow the path of maximum naturalness, then she should not sing, but wheeze and cough through every note.😉
