I love this Federal 730 lock. I use one on my bike. Even a pro with a lishi tool sweats opening it. I don't have to worry about a junky having any luck with it without a grinder.
We can make use of most of them tbh as we do occasionally come across schlage and kwickset. As you see in this video the master one and the American lock co (AM5) come in handy for these padlocks that we have. As for our locks like Yale etc the lishi does not exist because of the keyway. Most of our locks in the uk are also 6 pin and the one lishi that is about at the moment for Yale can’t do 6 pin. Long story short lishi domestic is not for uk locks yet.
Aliexpress has great prices and guaranteed delivery. I bought all of the residential lishi picks. It cost me about 600 us dollars. The car door lishi picks are another animal. Can't afford those yet.

Hi , just bought sc4 2 in 1 just china on you tube videos can unlock yale locks and pvc doors but the end of the sc4 is too thick so cant insert ... any advice im in uk.
Hi Gav, so im totally confused with the lishi product itself as there appears to be a million different types for every different lock out there is that the case or is the yale 6 and 6b a more universal pick ? Could you use the yales 6 and 6b on 5 pin locks instead of buying the 5 and 5b as well? Why have they only made 5 and 6 pin picks will they be making 7 pin lishi's ? The M1 and AM5 are they the same as the Yales or just specifically for padlocks? Thx for any enlightenment. brilliant video by the way, totally understood it, was nice to see the visual reactions of the pick and hand movements as you were explaining what was happening. Im UK also, and wondered if the decoder on the lishis is rendered useless if it isnt a yale or era as the spacing of the pins could be different. Thank you
Hi mate, yeah so there has been a bunch of attempts to get them to work in Yale profile over time and only now is there the angled plate one that works. Other older ones are still called Yale 5 and 5B etc but are way different and no good. The M1 and AM5 are for them locks in particular so M1 is master locks padlocks as they don’t use it in anything else. The AM5 is for American brand padlocks and anything else that uses that key profile. The charts on the Yale lishi are useless for decoding even yales, just forget about decoding all together. 6 pin lishi can indeed pick 5 pin rim cylinders but in euros the tip hits the back and can’t be used as the shoulder of the pick must enter the lock. I use 5 pin lishi in some 6 pin locks where the pin spacing is closer together.

So as a beginner would it be best to buy the 4 as in :- 5+5b and 6 + 6b lishis to cover a wider range of padlocks/locks with maybe the M1 as a back up? thank you again. P.S i've also noticed there are KW's and sc1's....... as well, totally mind boggling ?
@@seanditch4419 M1 is pointless as they are 4 pin locks, I simply use the lishi for making keys to the padlocks. Kwickset locks we almost never see and schlage we see a little more but still rare. So yeah to start out I’d recommend the 4 Yale picks.
@@seanditch4419 yes mate think of the lishi as a tension wrench and pick stuck together with the added bonus of seeing what pin you are on. The lishi 5 and 5B are the same pick but the chart is inverted on one and same goes for 6 and 6B. If lock sporting then just the 6B and 5B needed but if locksmithing then all 4 are needed.
