Jennifer is NOT filming a talk show she is really living out her childhood dream of singing with all these singers when they come on here it’s hilarious and beautiful to watch 😂❤
I doubt it. She.s been coat tailing off that name from the beginning. Hardly a double portion. She is no Donny Hathaway. There is a reason why she is always doing remakes and only has one or two original songs after 30 years. Having a famous father doesn't make u an automatic singer or success.
Yeah she is. For sho'. Miss Jennifer was like, "Uhn, uhn...." when LaLa told her to "Go on and scat." I love you Miss Jennifer. You do have to scat cuz you "is" incredible with all that you already do with your beautiful voice girlfriend. Miss LaLa is unbelievable. Okuuuuur...
Love Lalah, it’s called polyphonic singing and while she’s not the only one that can do it it is quite difficult, she’s singing an undertone pitch with an overtone she can control at will. If you never have, do a RU-vid search of “advanced polyphonic singing” you’ll be in for a real treat.
So far it's found in 3 separate cultures and as much as she's traveled to Africa, wouldn't be surprised if she learned it from someone in the Xhosa tribe in South Africa, also can be found in Mongolian culture and Eskimo women were known for it but it was banned by Christians who said it sounded satanic
@@HI-lq4vl I disagree. She actually has got great songs, but she was always overlooked by big labels which didn't promote her properly or gathered around her the best material and producers...
That was dope for a real singer like Jennifer to be geeking over Lalah’s vocals. She said I can sing with Lalah Hathaway! Lol. J Hud playing games with us like we don’t know better. I love it!
@demetria4339 I was thinking the same thing! She gets all her props! Selling out most of her concert venues. Well, at least in Atlanta, she does! And I'm sure most other places she performs as well...
@@fazeman4yesss bay-bayyy and very few singers can do it! I heard a girl on a RU-vid video do it and that was my first time hearing it. She had a beautiful voice. Amazing!!!!
She spilts her chords . It’s a technique that only she is known to do .. I personally don’t know any other singer who has been documented to do it but it’s a wild ability
Muni's mama conversation prooves that not enough moms and parents are like her! She's so nurturing and caring! I wish my Mom was like that! My dad is like that but to an extent!
It's polyphonic overtone singing, or diphonic singing which is the ability to sing 2 different notes at once by learning to carefully manipulate the vocal tract.
Rachelle Ferrell and Lalah Hathaway, 2 of the most gifted singers ever to grace a stage, are still under recognized. Rachelle will blow the house down with the power of the vocal aerobatics only she can do. Lalah sits on the chair right in front of you and washes over you like melted Belgian chocolate and smooth caramel infused vanilla cream. She may have been sitting down, but you can see how her core is engaged and wow!! Mr. Donny Hathaway approves!
I've been listening to Rachelle Farrell since her duet with Will Downing back in the 90s and her single "With Open Arms" when she had a perm. 😆😆😆 She is highly underrated and underappreciated. Lalah and her father are national treasures.🌟✨💎
@@marshahouser4752 lmao stop acting like Beyonce can't sing. She sounds great live too that they say she lip sings. Give Beyonce her props. She's a gem.
Lalah is underrated by the industry but loved by her fans🥰She gets it from her father the late great Donny Hathaway🤴🏽She’s definitely his child. They both have insane ranges. What a gift to share and pass on to his daughter. Simply beautiful🥹❤️☮️🙏🏿RIP🤴🏽Donny. Some don’t realize that before Luther there was Donny. I love Luther too but some of his riffs were inspired by Donny as Luther was a background singer for Donny and Roberta Flack. Luther learned well and added his own talents to make it his own, and become one of the best singers ever. Lalah is beautiful and reminds me of her dad 🥹❤️☮️🙏🏿
Lalah said at first she found she was only able to do it when she was tired, thats how she discovered it. PLEASE keep trying, and come back when you find it again, because i know you will!! 💯❤️
@@Toywins interesting bc I was in the bed with hubby about to go to sleep when I did it. will try again when I'm tired and relaxed. It felt like a butterfly in my throat 🤣
Jen makes me laugh how she acts like she's scared to cut the fool singing for these people. Lol. I love how she fangirls each time with these artists. Very endearing. ❤
That’s a singer’s singer. She probably is truely fangirling , even the greats have people that are taken a back bye. like how Karen Clark is on every black females singers best singers list.
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SLEEPING ON LALAH'S TALENT FOR DECADES. SHE'S ONE OF THE WOMEN THAT PAVED THE WAY FOR SOME OF YOU THAT CALL YOURSELF ARTIST TODAY. THEY HAVEN'T GIVEN HER PROPER ACKNOWLEDGMENT FOR HER TALENT. 😍😘💖👏🏽👏🏽⚓💯
Lalah Hathaway Was Born To Sing! The Depth and The Harmonious Tones That Come out of her with Little to No Effort!! SHE IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES!!
As @LalahHathaway was nearing the end of her scat/run. You could hear her vocal folds begin to separate on the lower register. Then she finished with the full on harmony. AMAZING!! 💜💜💜💜
This is why Whitney Houston loved her so much. She's your favorite singers favorite singer..especially in the R&B world. I'm talking about the real singers. She is music royalty!❤👑❤
Ohhhh my I just fell outta my chair with real tears, you know how when someone sings and gives you goosies (goosebumps) that’s what I just felt hearing this. ❤❤❤
