Onboard video of the Ferrari 333SP, with Emmanuel Collard at the wheel. Listen to that glorious naturally aspirated V12 !
Endurance racing driver Emmanuel Collard takes the 333SP for a shakedown at the Paul Ricard circuit this autumn.
The track was not fully dry and still greasy from yesterday showers so he's not exploiting the car incredible capabilities.
Shakedowns are performed on a regular basis to make sure the car is properly working and 100% operational for track days and historic races. The fact shakedowns are carried by experienced and professionnel drivers is a great benefit for the car owner.
The 333SP is an open sports prototype car, built by Ferrari and Dallara on the demand of Giampiero Moretti. He raced in the US but was based in Modena, hence the MOMO brand name and livery of this particular chassis.
The car featured a 4.0L naturally aspirated V12 derived from the Ferrari 641 F1 car. The monocoque was made with carbon fiber and aluminium honeycomb, with double wishbone all round and pushrod operated coil springs and damper. The 5-speed gearbox is operated by a sequential lever system.
The car proved extremely successful in privateers hands with victories in the IMSA GT Championship, Daytona 24 hours and Sebring 12 hours.
Emmanuel Collard himself won the ISRS Driver Title twice (1998 and 1999) with JMB Racing, that won the Team Title three times in a row (ISRS in 1998, 1999 and World Sport Prototype Championship in 2000) on the Giesse 333 SP.
