Wheel's Resident Human is in my Top 3 albums of 2021. Dissipating and Resident Human are my favourite songs and due to time limits I chose Resident Human for my mixtape last week.
Really like this band… the new album you mentioned, Charismatic Leaders, is outstanding and “Submission” is one of the best tracks I’ve heard in a very long time. By the way, I grew up in MK in the 80s and 90s! Downs Barn, which I’m sure you’ll know! 👍
Love the sound of this band! They are heavily wearing the tool influences on their sleeve! That being said it feels fresh regardless.. great listen. 🤟🏻
Hi Jim, 🤫 I’m enjoying the music. No need to comment much; I really love it. I immediately bought it in iTunes for €6. Only available as an lp in the shop for €36 and that’s too expensive for me.
I saw these guys with Leprous a while back. It was right after they signed with Inside Out, but before Charismatic Leaders was officially dropped. I didn't know them too well and honestly the sound wasn't the best and kind of muddled, but it was cool knowing of them a bit and seeing them grow into what they are now. One of those bands that unfortunately isn't in my main rotation but when I sit down and listen I always think, yeah solid band. Another one of those if you find yourself with that pattern, Vulkan.
Yes! I knew this one would hit the right spot. I am redeemed. :D I didn't mean the music, playing or production was rough. What I meant was that - to me at least - in comparison with "Charismatic Leaders", the sound on "Resident Human" has a bit more of an edge to it. Hard to describe, maybe it's just a feeling. In any case, I'm glad you like it so much. Already thinking of future suggestions. ;)
@@JimNewsteadJim if you liked this you have to listen to Charismatic Leaders, their new album. It’s so much better production quality and rhythmically. My second rank in album of the year 2024 (and first is Charcoal Grace by 🐴 so…)
@@JimNewsteadYeah it's good. I was listening to a bit of an earlier album than those mentioned - when they were very doomy bit more Candlemas vibe. I'm guessing they evolved into more of a rock prog sound judging by the first track here🥸
Hadn't ever thought that, but yeah you're right. Does a better job mixing in the upbeat heavier stuff though. SW can bore me at times because it stays too melancholy and slow.
