Syndicate: It's a group of anarchists (DEATH TO GOVERNMENT!!) made by Techno and Phil. Basically the song is just them recruiting certain characters In My Head: From Ranboo's point of view with voices in his head telling him he's [redacted] (If ya kno, ya kno) Also the smile at the end means somethin Turn Back Time: This is Karl the time traveler (Tales Of The SMP: Side stories somewhat connected to canon) His lore is really fun but we're currently waiting for him to start season 2 (He was on a streaming break for a few months) Also I love how the words rotate backwards like going back in time Welcome Home: Tommy lore!! This is during the [spoiler] arc and the compasses from it are very important to Tommy and Tubbo Tell Your Story: Yes this is Karl (He has the purple hoodie with mismatched sleeves. His hoodie on the front is a green swirl and the "G" on his hand 30:24 is actually a swirl. Also George usually has a blue supreme shirt) The song title is cos at the end of every TFTSMP (Tales Of The SMP) Karl writes a journal for each time he went through and what happened while he was there. Also there's a reference there with the phrase "..stuck in between.." but I won't say what Night Before Dawn: The flag 34:40 is the L'Manburg flag created by Wilbur (Ghostbur created a different version later on where there's a big heart instead of the X. o7 first flag) Write It Down: Another Karl lore song, kinda like *Tell Your Story*, where he's telling/writing a story about his adventures time travelling. Many references to exciting things but obviously I won't say anything. Despite the cutsie look and sound, it's actually more related to the mystery and angst side of his lore. There's also a reason why he's telling himself to write everything down Why: Post Doomsday arc (o7) Ghostbur angst. He's upset and talking to Phil Casino Royale: Quackity lore!! (Love it, adore it) Quackity made his own place called "Las Nevadas" where the center attraction is a casino Doomsday: Phil, Techno, and Dream team up to destroy L'Manburg (Which is why in *Why* Ghostbur was upset with Phil) Also this is before Dream goes to prison Revived: Revivebur!! The reason most of the song takes place on a train is cos that's what Wilbur's afterlife was: A train platform. The "other guy" he talks about is Ghostbur. The sign 1:00:56 at the top right is one of Wil's songs "Jubilee Line". The "13 1/2 yrs" line is how long it's been for Wil since he died, but time works differently in the afterlife (His limbo) so it's longer for him than in the real world. 1:02:23 Derivakat couldn't find a siren sound she liked so vocialized it herslef to match the song's vibe. The guy at the end is Ghostbur, who's sad cos he's stuck in limbo where Wilbur was previously. Lastly, the song was teased months before the video but it took the artist so long to draw and animate it all but it was really fun to watch her do so Also Derivakat's started collabing with more artists in the community, which I adore. (If you actually read all of this I'd be very happy but also impressed)

Captain's Call and Voices arent exactly lore songs but they're about characters on the SMP. ( Captain Puffy and Technoblade )

The parallel between her first and last song is hilarious. The first one is about Ghostbur and is innocent. The last one is about Revivedbur and is menacing.

Fun fact: The train horns in “Revived” are actually Derivakat recording herself.

I don't know if you know this, but "crows" usually means Phil's stream chat. I'm pretty sure we started calling ourselves crows and he just made it canon, so now Phil is the crowfather xD In songs and animatics they're either used as these beings that surround Phil and basically are on his side (and always blood hungry, because that's just how we are) or they get used to explain how for example in-game chat works. Obviously in real life there wouldn't be a chat, so Phil uses his crows to send and get letters and stuff. It's honestly really, really cool and as a dedicated crow myself, I really love the community xD In SADist's animations there's also (I'm pretty sure) always crow noises when Phil is on screen. Lol can you tell what streamer from the dsmp cast is my favorite?

I've been following this fandom for over a year and it's literally one of my most precious part of my life. Most of the streams happen midnight and i remember screaming to my pillow at 3am watching lore streams lol. From L'manberg revolution to doomsday was the golden time of the smp imo. I wish i could go back and experience it all again.

Turn Back Time features Karl, and the song relates to a sub-category of streams from the Dream SMP called Tales From The SMP! These streams usually had people from the SMP acting as characters either set in the past or in the future of the current lore on the server, and we have yet to find out how it all ties together. The reason the song features Karl is because all of the streams would be streamed by Karl, and it was understood that Karl was a sort of time traveller who could jump in between these different Tales :)

NGL, you need to catch up on the LORE, then i reccomend listening to this again on your free time. The Lyrics will have more deeper meanings.

1:00:18 The crying person is meant to be Ghostbur, while Wilbur was dead he came back as a ghost, Ghostbur has a completely different and reversed personality than Wilbur however Ghostbur was screaming and crying before he was killed in order to revive Wilbur, When Wilbur revived, he had no knowledge of who Ghostbur was, however Wilbur said when he was revived and taken from hell, he saw some other guy who was crying and it looked like his tears were burning him (Ghostbur burns from water) So the line "I'm alive im revived im survived, gonna cry about it? You should see the other guy" refers to Ghostbur who is crying back in hell

I’ll be honest, for not seeing the lore, you guessed really well. But, I do recommend watching more of those Dream Smp EvanMCgaming videos soon.

I believe you will like Doomsday song even more once you catch up to the lore especially if you are on Team Chaos/Doomsday Trio (Dream, Techno, Phil) side like I was haha Derivakat's song are so good because of the different perspective shown through it like if the event was sang from Tommy's side he would also call it betrayal but tell the events completely differently of course as the 'victim' of their attack (even tho in my humble opinion it was kind of deserved but ehhh) Edit: Philza's nickname is the Death God (because Techno is the Blood God) the fandom like to head canon hes wife Kristen as Death itself :)

for some reason, most of derivakat's songs sound better to me at 1.5 speed - not all (ones like revived, voices, etc. sound better at their normal speeds) but the slower sang ones just jive better in my ears if I speed them up a smidgen, ykwim?

Just a few details that Ive not seen mentioned by any comments: “Night before dawn” covers Wilbur during the Pogtopia arc Before he falls and corrupts. It’s basically him clasping onto his old life before he crumbles. All the Karl ones focus on him writing stuff down. Basically in tales of the SMP he’s a time traveler who’s loosing memories as he travels. So he makes sure to document everything in a library. And 3 of the songs (doomsday, why and ain’t no crying) all cover 1 event. The fall of L’manberg (no spoilers obviously)

revived is widely regarded to be the most ooc of the songs, it was written just after wilburs revival when people were really unsure about where his arc would lead, but currently, the song reflects an almost opposite portrayal of revived wilbur, which makes it an interesting contrast and could be seen as how wilbur sees himself or how other people see wilbur

I see Doomsday as a song more connected to Technoblade rather then Dream and Philza. The previous Technoblade stream before the fall of L'manburg, Tommy betrays Technoblade for the government. Fast forward and Technoblade is leading the charge to l'manburg's destruction by killing almost everyone and summoning an army of withers. Sure Dream and Philza helped but Technoblade was the one who did most of the work and battling. Anyone who wants to go back and rewatch the whole arc from Jshlatt's election to the fall of L'manburg should check out Technoblade's past Live streams(you may need to find VODS of Tommy's or Wilbur's POV for the Jshlatt election part) They are best in terms of pacing.

A cuple things I wanted to explain: 19:30 That, my friend, is Karl Jakobs, he is a time traveler that is slowly loosing his memory, he had been making a series of streams in which he would travel to some time in the past or future randomly and meet people, at the end of all of his adventures, he always goes to a big white castle called ''The Inbetween'' where he reads books that tell him what to do, but he soon realices it's a trap and there is some dark secret that the inbetween is hididng from him... and then there has been no more Karl lore for about 4 months so yeah.... (oh well, nevermind, u just realiced who he was like 2 seconds after I paused the vid to coment.... T-T) 34:43 No, that is L'manburg's flag but simplified, it normaly has 2 more red crosses on the white streak of the flag. 46:27 So this is Ghostbur fighting with Philza for helping blow up L'manburg, he was mad because he felt like he was suffering for no reason, that he had only helped people and he trusted Phil, but then. Phil broke his trust by destroying his home, that he loved and helped rebuild (L'manburg). Now this also aplies for Doomsday, but this time it's from Phil's, Techno's and Dream's perspective, they are destroying L'manburg. Those black structures on the sky are a bunch of automatic TNT launchers so it would be easyer and faster to destroy L'manburg. And this is before Dream was sent to prison, like a week before, idk I don't remember how long. 1:00:14 That is not Tommy, that's also Wilbur, let me explain. Wilbur was stuck on a train station as his limbo, in there time goes faster so a day on the living world is a month in there. While he was there his sould got split on half having Ghostbur and Wilbur as diferent people, Ghostbur being his kindness and inocence and Wilbur being his crazy and manitpulative side, when he was revived by Dream they switched sides and now Ghostbur is stuck on the station. Wilbur is on a train in this video because the representation of people dying or being revived for him is coming or leaving on a train. Everyone's limbo is diferent tho, Tommy's was just a colourless void ): Hope this helped crear things out! :D

YES YES YESSSS Derivakat is personally me favourite song writer and singer of Dream SMP fandom but honestly all of her songs are incredible! It's crazy how we share the same taste I mean REVIVED, Casino Royale, Welcome Home, In My Head and Doomsday are my ULTIMATE top 5 but then again all of Derivakat's songs are simply insane.
