I bought a minty iPod Hi-Fi a few months back and I def overpaid for it but I absolutely love it. Just looks amazing with an iPod Classic Gen 3 on it and it BUMPS. In my opinion, to my ears, it's too bass heavy so I use either "Bass Reducer" or "Treble Booster" in the EQ settings and then it sounds pretty damn perf to me.
So I bought a hifi last night and I totally agree with everything you guys said. However I didn’t pay anywhere close to $150 lol I paid $7 at goodwill 😅
Great video. Takes me back.. Waaay back! Some thoughts, if I may: The In-Ear Headphones are a seriously underrated gem, and hold their own even when compared to multiple driver high-end IEMs. But it goes without saying that you absolutely need to get a good seal in your ears to really hear what they’re capable of. Maybe you didn’t and that’s why you think they sound like phone speakers lol. Or maybe you did get a good seal but wasn’t impressed by the very neutral, bordering on clinical sound signature. Fun fact: they have dual drivers in each side, which is generally unheard of in consumer grade earphones! The 2007 (and earlier) earbuds are universally known for being trash, so right on the money there. That’s why Apple went back to the drawing board and came up with the EarPods which were released in 2012 and came bundled with the iPhone 5. Those really delivered compared to their shitty predecessors! The iPod Hi-Fi was another underrated gem. The better the recording, the better the sound. Gave B&W’s Zeppelin a serious run for the money while costing significantly less. Oh, and it was designed to be listened to from at least 6ft away according to Apple’s marketing materials at the time. That distance is apparently the sweet spot and is when the soundstage in front of you “disappears” and you get room filling sound as mentioned by Steve Jobs himself at its unveiling. Nice trip down memory lane!
Just ordered a bunch of parts from you. The faceplate you sent me is defective. It is badly bulged and there is a gap between the clear screen and the coloured faceplate. I've emailed you about this twice and I've contacted you through your website. No response from you. Your response times are terrible. I expect better. You should have replied within 24 hours by telling me that you've sent a replacement that you've personally inspected for defects. Until the defective part is replaced or my order refunded I will be leaving these comments on all your videos to warn people not to order from you.
