@@frederickforgues2415 I’ve been thinking of that as well but at the same time artists and song writers share their beautiful Talent with us and the one thing they Get to have for themselves is who their songs are about. Maybe it was him, and Olivia is hurting because of that but beside form a song maybe they want to keep that for themselves. And maybe wasn’t him, but if she said that then people would just keep looking, fans and the media are relentless and it can be really stressful. It’s better if they just don’t address it at all if they want to keep it to themselves and I totally respect that, because the minute they talk about it it’s no longer theirs. I’m ok with letting her have this and I hope other people will too, what do you think (sorry this is kinda long I’ve just been pondering about it for a long time)
My ex always said he didn’t like Olivia Rodrigo because she was “too popular” but really it was because he was the type of guy Olivia wrote about in this album
I love that deja vu part when she sings "now I bet you even tell her how you love her in between the chorus and the verse" and she literally whispers between the chorus and the verse "I love you" GENIUSSSS
ikr remember that one interview she made with her producer and her producer was saying Olivia writes so many heart wrenching songs - he wasn't fucking wrong omygod
The fact that he gets so upset for her is so endearing. He did the same thing when he went through Sabrina Carpenter’s emails I can’t send, and he’s right, the guy is in the wrong in both cases. It’s just so validating
a grown 26 years old man not invalidating some 17 years olds girl feelings but instead relating to her and jamming to her music? omg i'm here for it honey lemme subscribe very quick
This is a 26 year old man vibing unapologetically and all caps HARD to a 17 year old’s debut album, with a scented candle and a mood lamp next to him. Also, I see that cat tower in the background. You sir, are a fucking LEGEND. I love you already. Subscribed!
AHHH AND SHE SLAPS EVERYONE ONCE AGAIN WITH VAMPIRE😩😩😩 "YOU SAID IT WAS TRUE LOVE, BUT WOULDN'T THAT BE HARD? YOU CAN'T LOVE ANYONE CAUSE THAT WOULD MEAN YOU HAD A HEART"😩😭😩😭😩😭
i love seeing a 26 year old, not criticize her for being "too sensitive" and invalidating her, but instead insulting whoever treated her that and actually FEELING the music and VIBING, even RELATING, this is amazing
“I’ve never had a breakup like this… but now I have.” YES THAT IS ME- IVE NEVER BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP IN MY ENTIRE LIFE YET THIS ALBUM WAS RELATABLE ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL
@@melanie60277 I’m legit gonna go into relationship not fully trusting the person, but after a year I will and if they break up with me, then I’ll sad but if it’s been under a year I will have been expecting it honestly 🥲
I thought he was calling her song a fucking piece of shit, but thankfully I think he was saying he was a fucking piece of shit because he is and was and still is
@@madeleinej99 oh babygirl, you will be okay again, don't worry. Focus on yourself and go live your best life. I saw him again two years ago and he was balding and I laughed 😂
it’s just the fact that this is like the perfect album after a terrible break up is crazy. like each song is like a good mix of mad and than emotional and it’s crazy
if you really pay attention the end of “hope ur ok” sounds like a car turning off & in “drivers license” the song begins with a car turning on. it’s like she finally found closure
And the words at the end are a Spanish conversationnn. I know cause im spanish and says smt like: Que pasa? Nada, como que nada, que ha pasado? Nada nada which means: What happens? Nothing, how nothing? What happened? Nothing And then they talk more but i cant understand cause its so blur
Also, i love the arrangement of the tracks. It kind of started with angst, then it transitioned to sad, in denial, angry, then just closure in the end. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm here for it💛
fun fact: the first single single she released (drivers license) started with a car starting, and the last song on her album (hope ur ok) ended with a car turning off
@@shariniparab9875 17 when she wrote it, 18 when it released. Also pretty sure she’s like 20 now so she’s become one of the largest names in modern music before she could even drink
Fun fact: the reason Taylor Swift has songwriring credits for 1 step forward and 3 steps back is because the mujsic is sampled from Taylor Swift's song New Years day. That piano we also hear in that song.
It’s not actually sampled, it’s interpolated. Olivia recreated the piano part (she was inspired by NYD) and is the one playing it on 1 step forward. Sampled would be the audio from NYD
why is he literally both cody and noel in one person but also looks bisexual shirt tucked in, dad cap, PLANTS, cactus, tattoos, and especially great vibes
The way that Olivia is just so forward with this album like there is no sugar coating , she is honest and is having an amazing time with it . Just the whole album being completely raw with her emotions ,letting us see her throughout it all is just so amazing to me .
This is the same thing I like about juice WRLD he talks about his emotions and his addiction which is hard for a guy since society tells us boys/men shouldn't be emotional
Dude, thank you. I'm a 61 year old lawyer lady and wondering how the hell a 17 year old could be so on point! Loving your real time appreciation while listening.
Taylor didn't actually co-write the song, they just gave her and Jack writing credits because the song is an interpolation of Taylor's song "New Year's Day".
oh my god everytime i listened to 1 step forward, 3 steps back i confused the beginning for taylor’s New Years Day so tysm for clearing this up because it was driving me crazy
I love both the songs, but every time I listen to one step forward, three steps back I always sing There’s glitter on the floor after the party Instead of I called you on the phone today
Fun fact, that's actually why he broke up with her- they were dating when both minors, and when he became of age and she was still a minor he broke up with her because he felt uncomfortable dating her even though it was only a two year age gap.
i love when he says: "He has self-help books? This is a red flag girl, boys don't reed". also how he is so into the songs, I appreciate how he compliments her
In deja vu, after she says “bet you even tell her how you love her in between the chorus and the verse” it goes from the verse to the chorus and there is a very soft “I love you” in that break between and it is musical perfection 🤌🏻🤌🏻
I’m not exaggerating at all: SOUR is literally one of the best albums I’ve ever listened to. Olivia is going to go so far. She is literally the future of the music industry. I’m mean she already has TAYLOR SWIFT helping her. She’s is so amazing.
fun fact taylor actually didn’t help her on the song, she was obviously a huge inspiration to olivia but olivia just credited her because she used a stripped down version of new year’s day from her reputation album!
I agree! The best album that came out so far. I've only listened to driver's license before, that's how i got to know about her. And i listened to good 4 you when it came out. But then i decided to listen to the whole album and God, it was a great choice. Olivia has so much potential to be one of the best artists of the new generation
She made a tik tok with driver’s license as the sound and captioned it, “You think you can hurt my feelings? I wrote this song.” And honestly thats more inspiring than any other quote ive heard.
I don't want to ruin you even more but if I read this so do you. At the end of "hope ur ok," the sounds at the end were the sounds of a car turning off, contrasting to the sounds at the beginning of "driver's license" with the car turning on like she found closure in the end.... TEARS
Okay I literally have heard all of these songs a hundred times but seeing his reaction as he hears is for the first time is giving me goosebumps all over again
good god so many people have hated olivia just because she became mainstream that fast. this album gives such a catharsis in ways impossible to describe when you listen to it, olivia has a once in a generation songwriting talent and i'm glad we're here to witness it.
