Despite the poor recording quality Richters extraordinary abilities shine through. His amazing dynamic range, the story telling and vivid imagery he manages to conjure, and of course the staggering virtuosity.

Fantastische live Aufführung dieses romantischen Meisterwerks im idealen Tempo mit der höchster Technik und der angeborener Lyrik. Das damaliges Publikum in den UdSSR war echt glücklich, dass es solch eine wunderschöne Interpretation live hören konnte. Danke fürs wertvolle Aufnahme!

unbelievably fantastic performance... this would be absolutely stupendous even for a studio-recording, but this is a live concert recording. unbelievable. one of the all-time great performances of Venezia e Napoli. i also believe that the Gondoliera and the Canzone should always be included whenever the Tarantella is in a pianist's repertoire - they complement the latter so, so beautifully.

Man macht die Augen zu.. und man ist in Sorrento, das glitzernde Meer schauend... auf dem Canal Grande, leise schaukelnd in einer Gondel, das Licht spielt auf dem Wasser... Oh ja, Richter der große Zauberer, mehr muß man nicht sagen!

Obwohl die Tonqualität nicht ideal ist, klingt diese live Aufführung sehr romantisch und schön mit glänzendem Klang des Klaviers und effektiv kontrollierter Dynamik. Echt unvergleichlicher Virtuoso!
