The first iteration of Birdy bikes used a similar seat post design. They often broke (as mine did). I was injured slightly from the fall, but the injury can be more serious with big pieces of jagged aluminum right under your private parts. Better to use a proper seat clamp base.
Litepro makes an easywheel for that seat post that allows you to raise and lower the post and you never worry about the post itself hitting the ground!
Thanks for sharing, Didn't know more and more Brompton clone are out in market. To me they all looks similar with Pikes, Pikesi & 3sixty, including price as well. Still think the original Brompton quality is there as compare to all Clones. Think very soon this LitePro will sell like hot cakes in the market as Brompton alternative low price choice. Cheers~
Hi Louis. Thanks for popipng by. Yes, I agree that the clones will over sales of Brompton as they are more affordable. However, in the long run, I believe many who own clones might eventually want to own a Brompton if the build quality of the original is better eg. using proprietary steel or alloy for its frames which clones will be hard to follow due to cost.
@@showcasekingchannel6012 being in the US, shipping costs are very expensive and it was only a few hundred dollars difference between a brand name Brompton fully kitted out and the clones I could find online. Also it sounds like wait times are completely outrageous and even longer than genuine Brompton wait times at this point. Yes my bike was a month-and-a-half late after a projected 4 month wait after I put a deposit down but that seems reasonable when other people have literally no idea when, or if, their bike from China is even going to show up 😅. I'm also relatively tall and I wanted those extra-tall H-style handlebars that are a couple inches taller than the standard m style so I bought the real deal but I'm shopping for a secondary bike to take when hanging with friends to get more use of of the Brommie 😆
On the hinge clamp, those shiny little points are actually magnets and you'll notice that that side of the hinge clamp is longer. You put that on the side of the hinge that doesn't move and it's supposed to stick to the flange of the hinge while the shorter side allows the other side to open and then close without having to excessively back out the hinge clamp and it's supposed to keep the clamp from spinning freely which is one of the only complaints on the original Brompton design
What's wrong with the nylon washer at the rear triangle hinge? I checked my Brompton and it's definitely not metal 😬. Also, how are you liking these tires?
Hi there, would you know what is the weight/height of person recommended on this bike? Quite tempted to get one from Shopee as its going for under $650 now. Tks and good review.
The crank and chain guard actually look really nice. I think the chain guard on my Brompton is just plastic and this looks like a really nice alloy. The pedals kind of look like crap though 😆 These brazings look excellent and very smooth compared to several other Brompton clones I've looked at! Very surprised at this price point!
The tiny rack that holds the easy Wheels means they can say their bike weighs less. I found out that the Bromton rack and a couple other full racks weigh about .5kg more than this smaller style.
Ya. Give some, take some. At the end of the day, it's all about quality. Thus must really look out for what is important in getting that foldie. Example is my Raleigh Sports, 1956. Heavy as hell. But last. If it's those China copies, maybe last not more than 20 years? The weight means thicker gauge steel/aluminum.
My bike had a LOT of issues. The hook did not lock the rear part of it. I had to work few hours to figure out what was wrong. They send me an extra piece and it didn't work either. Another issue is the screw that keep the handlebar in place. It's such a cheap screw, and it's no longer working. I'm very disappointed.
What about your Brompton? Do you still have it? I'm planning to buy one, but it's very expensive. At least for now, I'm not sure about the clones quality.
There's only 1 model. No special model name. It's trifold. But if you interested in another model, you can check out my other review on the United Trifold. Cheers,
@@ez45 I got it from Taobao, It rides great, I got used to it as I was used to being on Shimano gears but got used to the internal gear hub in a few rides. It rides great, smooth, and rides faster than my Dahon D9. You can go to my channel and see the unboxing of the LPpro.
It's nothing more than a 3Sixty Trifold putting on Litepro's brand logo on it with some of its parts so to make it more of a Litepro than anything else.
My honest opinion, as long it's steel frames, either a Pikes, 3 Sixty or other likes are of inferior quality if you're talking about keeping it for long. Titanium or Aluminum alloy is the way forward. Cheers.
@@showcasekingchannel6012 Titanium or Aluminum alloy probably not strong enough. titanium brompton still have steel frame, only non stress part are titanium.
Yes true and the seat post is short. Thats y it cant hit below. What if u 1.7 above??. And the washer is not a prblem with brass or plastic. It just a clone of 3sixty.
The Brompton patent expired already long ago. They did great work, but now the design is public property. That's like saying that all diamond framed bikes are clones, because someone patented it in the 19th century...
You knowledge between trifold and bifold 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 and upgrading .Every cent count for quality so don't compliant la for this price .Why must you always mention China clones .
That's such a dumb comment. It's like saying Mercedes is dead because some cr@ppy Chinese company made a car that looks like an S class. Quality always survives.
@@irongoatrocky2343 yes, you are right. This is why American vehicles are sold nowhere other than in the USA. Gas guzzling rust buckets with hopeless power to weight rations and all the design style of ... well the F150 for example. I would agree Japanese cars are well built, but oh my ... ugly.
