Hey buddy my wife and I love all your videos they are so helpful and so spot on! Thanks to you we purchased our first 2024 Yamaha 222 SE here in Long Beach Ca. We are getting ready for our first salt water trip to Catalina after our first great trip to lake Havasu. . . I just wanted to ask after a salt water trip like that other than a good flushing do you ever rinse out or off the engine itself with fresh water? Or is that not necessary with this spray? Thank you!
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot 9 дней назад
@SimplyMeSkinCareMedSpa not really necessary with this spray but won't hurt if you do a light rinse ( no pressure washer). Thank you for the kind words! Enjoy your new toy!

Not typically. Not much moisture there and no real problem areas noted.

Hello. I am a new subscriber to your channel and a new Jetski owner. I have a question: after spraying this or a comparable product, do u wipe off the excess with a rag of some sort or leave it there to soak in? Thanks in advance for answering my question.
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot Год назад
Leave it there and let it soak in. It will preserve the metal components best if allowed to soak.

Awesome video as always..Hoping to keep a Yamaha 255 FSH at a slip in the summer months. Have not received boat yet though. It will be used in saltwater in Rhode Island. Is this going to be problematic? I’d rather not have to launch every time I go out but I want to be sure the boat is properly maintained. Any feedback?
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot Месяц назад
If salt water you'll want a boat lift or boat barn to store the boat. Salt water cannot be purged from the engines if sitting in the water so you can't leave in salt water more than about 3 days.

Is there a burning smell once you run the engines? Does it stay wet to the touch, or does it bun off? Thanks Will !

@JetBoatPilot Question: I just bought a Seadoo Switch (kinda your fault 😂) and I am wondering if I should not only do this to my engine bay, but what about the podium/helm where there is a quick access panel in the front to reach the electronics/fuses? Thanks for your videos and awesome products!
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot Год назад
It's rare that water gets in back there so not a big of a deal, however if you get a spray protectant that is made to spray on electronics (make sure it's specified on the can) it can't hurt. We don't do it.

Shoot....My 2022 AR195 has 50hrs on it. I keep it in a dry warehouse storage in Pineland Marina. We boat out in the Gulf. Is it okay to apply now (not brand new) or will it trap salt in?

It will be good it is just always best to begin day one with lubricant on metal surfaces if you can

Hey Will, I wish I had seen this 3 days ago, before we launched our boat. Is it too late after it's been exposed to the salt air and water? Will I be coming in any salt and moisture that is there now?
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot Год назад
It's never too late. You can add it now but make sure you rinse off any salt water or dried salt crystals before applying spray Lube. If there's never been any salt water in the compartment and its fully dry go ahead and spray right away.

I can't find any information on the effects YamaShield or similar products may have on the marine environment. At least some of it will end up in the water. Any thoughts?
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot 11 месяцев назад
Typically Lubricant like YamaShield don't rinse off easily so they don't find their way into the water in any real measurable way.

I think it works well. In my opinion a little too well. It forms a coating that is visible and can be unsigtly to some.
@54Burg

I agree with JBP's reply. Great stuff but does leave a bit of residue. And its Boeshield (not Bioshield) designed by Boeing as an aerospace rust inhibitor and lubricant. I use it all over my boat and never had a problem.

Great video but Fluid Film is going to be the best. It will last all season long and other than the smell, best stuff. Not as pretty as these silicone type sprays and won't spray it on something Im about to sell, but for a boat you are going to use, best stuff and actually watercraft superstore magazine did a very comprehesive test on these type products to back up the statement
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot 2 месяца назад
We've used a product called Boeshield before and while tough and long lasting it left a film that I did not like. Sounds like this one is similar. Too much downside for me. I'd prefer to re-apply every quarter than have it look milky like the Boeshield looked.

How often should I spray the engine? (Using the boat in salt water)
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot 8 месяцев назад
Maybe once every 6 months. I guess it depends on how often you rinse the engines off with fresh water. If the engines never get salt water on them maybe once per year would be good.
