Hello Amy, yes they are a stupid price ! we now have an electric car, the initial cost was high ( nearly $18,000 !!! for our 2017 30kwh Nissan leaf ), but now our motoring costs are super low as we charge mainly on our solar or for free at free charging points when out and about, but long journeys are a nightmare as many chargers across the UK have broken down and they are not repairing them ! electric cars are also an environmental disaster to make they are not that green ! ! I'm just enjoy the low running costs for the time being ! ha ha, we all damage the environment some how, unless we live like a tribe in the amazon ! keep safe and well Amy

Hello Carol, how lovely to read your comment , the past is great ! the modern world is crap ! ha ha . Make do and mend gives you a true purpose in life and it makes you appreciate the small things . You really do feel like you have achieved and survived perfectly well without flicking on them switches which the modern world has all got to used to, but these modern conveniences come at a very high price to run as you know, which keeps you locked into the system. I'm getting low on dry cut wood ! its becoming a bit of a struggle here with this cold weather, I've also had a bit of an injury on my ribs that has slowed me down, but its all part of the fun of making do and being frugal ! thanks Carol take good care.

@@karen4you Hello, i use a large extendable pole that i brought from eBay, the pole is specially for cleaning windows, it has a soft boom and a rubber wiper on it, i use it with a little bit of washing up liquid, but it really does make you arms ache ! as its so long and heavy, i wish my panels were not on the roof but its too hard and expensive to remove them. The cost of living crisis sadly is causing many people to also steal in the UK. If only it was like the old days where there was close communities with people helping each other, its changed so much from when i was young, I find myself isolating more on our smallholding as that's my very happy place ! ha ha i enjoyed the covid lockdowns ! Hello Jill, that's exactly what the battery bank would also be for, there will be around 5 USB chargers on it. We also have a USB torch. im still waiting for the circuit board to arrive from china ( Its a tracked order and will be delivered is a few days, its taken 3 weeks so far ! ) so i can finish building this money saving device, a very cheap build as well. Stay frugal, its a great hobby ! our local morrisons keep selling loaves of bread for 10p ! I love it ! keep fit and well Jill, keep up the great work you do in helping others learn all the tricks.

Hello Marcus, i wish i had the money for a huge lithium home battery bank, 5 kwh would be perfect but that comes in at around £4500 ! i don't have that money and wont for a long while, so the plan was to buy some cheaper leisure batteries for the home at a cost of about £600 this would give me around 2.5 kwh, enough for lighting and running very low wattage appliances when the sun goes down. I also would like to make a turbine from an old car alternator one day, we definitely have enough wind here for that which i have checked. When sodium comes along the promise is they will be significantly cheaper but that’s years away I looked at building my own wind turbine and the best option is a washing machine motor as it dosnt have the same losses as an alternator. Chris harbour on he’s got a great video on making blades for them. Can’t believe the weast in the e cigs just madness.

Hello, funny enough i spent this the morning starting of my cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and melons, I've also plated shallots and broad beans last month. Pound land have also just started selling 40 onion sets for £1, so ive brought 9 bags but will be going back for more bags, i need a good 600 onions for the future as ive just run out of my stored onions from last year, I only grew around 200 last year. As the cost of living crisis is due to get even worse this year along with more food shortages im not taking any risks. We have had very little frost also. I have moved to a new garden flat recently and I will be growing veg in containers this year. Hello Steven, plenty of projects this year, more solar panels are going up and battery banks to become more self sufficient. Our solar panels cover our night time electric use in the cash back we get, but want to reduce the night time electric to almost zero ! we are looking to spend about £1500 on equipment. 1000w solar off grid system with battery storage of 3kw. Electric is going to keep on increasing for the next 7 years or so until the 2 new Nuclear power stations come on line in the UK. Bloody Sizewell C in Suffolk ! grrrrr ! thanks and take good care

Hello Paul, yes i have. For the last year and a half ive been using a lot less imported feed and letting them forage more. I now only buy a wild bird seed mix from B&M or home bargain store for £6.50 13kg for grain supplements which lasts about 2 weeks, the rest is now more foraging, ground up egg shells and veg scraps. This year a worm farm is being set up for plenty of protein. My goal is to have a closed loop system with no feed imports ( with less birds). When the bird flu scare mongering crap is over some vids will be going up on this. What ever happened to herd immunity ? they are just culling the fuck out of millions of healthy birds because only one bird has it on a farm ! chicken and egg shortage are going to get very drastic with these monkeys in charge ( yes fucking Defra toss pots, ha ha) ! Im starting to think they want control of all our food now with the new poultry register they want to implement in may ! even one bird might need permission in a back garden ! Hello, im just as guilty with my own poison for enjoyment, which i wrote in the description of this video, i like my homebrew alcohol, its seems like any enjoyment you take it ruins your health ! Ive been doing a lot of research on vaping and the true effects, long term symptoms are only now just being seen in people. It seems to be a lot worse than thought ! A bit like cigarettes in the past when very early adverts recommended them for nerves and health ! cheers and take care.
