My mom gave me these old cartoons when I was a kid like Popeye, the three stooges, Felix the cat and other. Now as an adult, I have a massive appreciation for these old cartoons.
I have such genuine respect for everyone in these comments. Thank you so much for being here and appreciating these cartoons and never forgetting childhood 💜
God these remind me of being a kid in the 90s at my grams watching these on VHS my grams had recorded of little Audrey, little lulu, tex Avery cartoons, etc. I wish I could go back to the 90s cuz nowadays completely SUCKS. I'd gladly give up all the internet, cellphones, and the rest of technology to go back to anytime between 1984 (birth year) to 1999 cuz after that people started becoming braindead
Maybe russia or china should reboot, if America or Canada or Europe or anglos reboot this they'll just make little audery into a black trans girl or something goofy
Damn straight! This is why I am SOOO grateful that RU-vid exists. Now I can disregard the trash today so I can keep watching timeless classics like this an old fashioned Disney films. And I mean the TRUE Disney films! Not those lazyass plagiarized ripoffs and woke garbage!
Holy shit I remember this I watched this and some of the episodes when I was little they were so cute bit some of the episode that had the black stereotype always confused me when I was little I sometimes thought if they were monsters or creatures even the pink lips confused me to (sorry I don't know of that was wrong to think I just didn't know what to think of it and I was 4 when I used to watch this )
I saw the thumbnail and it was like a slap in the face of familiarity! I legit remembered watching this just the other day and was sad I didn’t remember what it even was or how to search. Thank you RU-vid for planting a bug into my brain
I remember this cartoon from an old dvd full of cartoons from this era and my faborites included betty boop as cinderella and betty boop in wonderland along with thjs one im so glad its here
I remember this exact cartoon. I received a vhs tape with a bunch of old cartoons for Christmas. I used to watch this often. This bring back good memories.
"First we break one egg and I'm not yolking." "...and then just a bit of salt." Audrey grabs a huge handful. "HEY NOT SO MUCH!" "Now beat it!" Audrey dejectedly leaves. "Not you, the batter." Wish we had cooking instructors like that. XD Also, who puts mustard and pepper in a dessert? O.o
I used to watch this vhs all the time when I was little but I never remembered the name of it and hadn't thought of it until the other day when it popped up randomly in my mind. I'm so happy I found this again!!
My name is Audrey, and up until I was 8 or 9, that VHS was the only thing I was allowed to watch at my grandparent's house when they babysat me. I'm 26 now and still remember most of the movie -_-
Oh, Little Audrey says: Save for a rainy day! She saves, but every time it rains She spends what she puts away. She knows her proverbs A to Z And knows the good they bring, But when she has to follow them Well, that's another thing! Oh, Little Audrey says, While the sun is out, make hay. Though she's not immense, There's a lot of sense, in what Little Audrey has to say.
Remembered this cartoon from when I was a little kid. Thanks for the words to the song "Little Audrey Says" Also brings back memories of cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Felix the Cat, Popeye, etc. Those were the days of great cartoons.
Her Harvey Comic was far more popular. It broke down ALOT of Racial Barriers during the 50s. Audrey in the comic has like over a dozen friends of different races and a Negro Love Interest named Jack.
Interesting that this was made originally to show in movie theaters, then was released for TV showings later in the '50s and '60s, then got on videotape to be seen again in the '80s. And now it's on RU-vid. That's the progression of technology.
Oh they were not always so innocent. Some had hidden meanings, that would have been too controversial to be discussed openly at that time. But yeah compared to shitty comics nowadays with a lot of glitter and flashes and idiotic characters they were much more valuable.
Actually some classic cartoons back in the old days also had a lot to do with politics and world war 1 and world war 2 so I really wouldn't say innocent for all of them
@@janedoex8345 I can clearly see some sexual innuendos in this episode, like her pose when she's told to get ready, break the egg im not joking, and beat it faster faster faster lol.
Gonna list the pastry puns shown in this cartoon: Breadway Garden of Eatin' Cake Walk Ladyfingers Devil Food Cake Cop-cakes Strawberry Short-Cut The Old Milk Stream I wish I could be one of the people who comes up with gags like this for cartoons. XD
Ian Sherman Whoops, forgot about the pie wagon (I'm used to knowing it as a paddy wagon). But I never heard of Devil's Cake Island, is that an actual dessert? Hey, if they did a similar cartoon using all foods instead of just desserts then they could have a ham-burglar get tossed into a 'patty' wagon! XD
I had a flashback from when I was like 6 or 7 and I was watching this but couldn't rememeber the name soo I wen tto google and typed in "Girl amkes cake falls asleep then dreams" XD Little audrey caame up I was like I think thats it I clciked and was like holy shit I remember thisssss sooo old
I remember watching this one a dvd that was like a collection of similar cartoons. It had a one about fishing, Betty Boop cartoon, and one about Donald Duck.
I knew it...I knew I wasn't crazy... I don't know how many times I had told ppl about this cartoon and NO ONE knew anything about it, I literally thought I had dreamed it up as a child....
This was my absolute favorite cartoon short when I was little. I remember watching this at my grandparents house all the time on a VHS tape with all of these cartoon shorts. Its been at least 20 years since I've seen this. Funny how a 7 minute cartoon can fill me with such joy and memories of my grandparents.
does anyone remember any dvd or vhs with this short and a few others (somewhere in dreamland, goofy goofy hander, cookie carnival, felix the cat etc. etc,) were included in? i want to repurchase it again. i used to have it when i was little now I cant seem to find it
Don't worry. It's a common disease, and sometimes contagious, if one in a group shows acute symptoms, but not dangerous or even life threatening. It might hurt a bit from time to time though, but you'll be alright.
This was one of the most memorable cartoons from my childhood. I finally found it. I wish people put this much thought into cartoons nowadays. There are a lot of ironic things that I noticed in this as an adult that I didn't get when I was a child.
Someone told me this came out in the. 50's where human right violations were so widespread it was the norm and women did not have the same rights as men. In my opinion that's a pretty messed up time.
Don’t believe everything you are told, then. Every generation thinks that 50 years ago were benighted times. Been going on for centuries. While they never recognise the characteristic errors of their own time.
