What would you do, how would you respond if you woke up to hear you may likely not walk again. Learn and find inspiration from someone who’s found exceptional motivation and purpose through personal tragedy. You won’t soon forget. www.arashrecovery.com
Writer, Entrepreneur and Co-founder of the No Limits Collaborative (www.nolimitscollaborative.org). Since a traumatic Spinal Cord Injury in 2012 left him paralyzed and turned his life upside down, he has committed himself fully to reach his ultimate goal of getting back on his feet and walking. In addition to his own recovery (www.arashrecovery.com), he has advocated for the needs of other people with his injury who are too often overlooked and unsupported by healthcare companies and the medical establishment. In 2015, he co-founded the No Limits Collaborative, a non-profit aimed at providing exercise, physical therapy, resources and support to people with serious neurological conditions.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

It's Amazing how much I needed this right now! (I came here from David Nihill's TEDx Talks entitled "Standing-up to Fear"! And I'm so very glad I did! You never know just how [in what way] your story's going to impact someone else, and I, myself, never know where my life is going that is going to put me in the position of needing to hear stories like these! I appreciate you for sharing and I'm SO happy that you had come as far as you had come in that year! At the end I yelled "YAYYYYY!!!" And I love *Your Wife* for loving *You!)* Congrats & Thanks Again.

Arash I am a 68 year old stroke survivor with severe PTSD. I found this video after just finishing your book. Thanks for the tremendous encouragement from your experience and your courage to continue to your fight to walk. This is the best video on this media. You affect so many lives. Never give up. God bless you and your beautiful family. Kenny D.

I’m a C7 incomplete quadriplegic SCI injury from auto accident August 2019, so almost 1 1/2 years ago. Currently being fit with leg braces to try to get up into a walker. Thankfully I have full function of my arms, hands, triceps and I’ve recovered some of my core muscles. The journey is difficult but I too have seen the best of people who have helped me. Thank you again for sharing your story. Pat.

Really well done Arash - everything - the presentation, the sharing of your thoughts, the blog and of course the recovery! You are a great inspiration, and the timing of this presentation and video coming across my desk couldn't have come at a better moment - thanks for the reminder to celebrate the little big steps and thanks for pouring your heart out like that - am about to take another little big step myself towards what I have made my most important goal ;D ! And if Spain rather than Italy can serve as any type of source of inspiration for you - I'll be greeting you with open arms when you get here amigo!

oh my God, it's so true! i just have the same thoughts like him, yesterday i just talked to my boyfriend about my learning stuff, my problem, and how now I'm gonna motivate myself, everyday I'll write down every small step I did today which improve myself a little bit from all parts of life, so small things like eating style, everyday an apple, instead of saying what i didn't do well today because most of time we can't finish what's our ideal plan is, awalys having something that were not done well. more encouraging words keep me doing the good things everyday, when you spend time to appreciate what you have done well that kind of put an emphasis on the thing itself and motivate you do it.

Arash, I understand that you are earning money with your books, talks etc. I also understand that most of the people like this kind of stories. BUT, the fact is that you were 'lucky' and didn't have complete injury so you could go step by step. Majority of paraplegic people can't go step by step since NOTHING is changing and your advices are useless for most of them.

From ur tone I can only infer that either u or a loved one has had to deal w/ a complete injury. I am truly sorry for that. I’d estimate that the difficulties u endure thru ur SCI are much more inspirational than any book about “recovered” SCI survivors I’ve read. What I’ve personally reasoned out, as a recovered SCI survivor n person of faith, is that the Lord had a different plan for Arash than He had for u my friend. No more “blessed”, no more “deserving”, it’s just a different plan. N don’t know the intended outcomes of these plans but I can only have faith our trials n suffering *somehow* benefit the greater good. Aside from that, all I can say is that I truly wish u the world my friend.

The dr always gets blamed for the estimated time of recovery 😂 hey,its what is known from studies!give the medicos a break! 🤣 haha!but a good talk nevertheless 😄
@brianmccloud8544
@brianmccloud8544 Месяц назад
I sincerely doubt there was a *definitive* “you’ll *never* walk again, (bwahahaha)” 🙄. Most dr.’s are usually down w/ the scientific method so probabilities were much more likely given. People will frame the narrative to use whatever they need to for motivation. Instead of painting his Dr. as *just* a naysayer he/she mighta been given props for repairing one helluva broken neck 🤩👏🤩.
