I never hated bats, just didnt understand what really lovely creatures they are, until I saw this, and other storys on youtube.I have a barn full of them.I am blessed.
One got in the house the other day, and our cat was terrorizing the poor thing. I managed to catch him in a towel, call him cute a few dozen times, and let him go outside while he screamed at me.
thank you fruit bats aka flying foxs aka megabats for helping on planting many many trees in some parts they ARE the main helpers , we should thank them and HELP them thrive
This animal does nothing to keep the bugs down. They cant. Its a common people thing to say this. They eat the trillions of bugs, thats it. Period. Its like saying chimps keep the bannana trees from taking over. No, they just eat bannanas. You know how many chickens humans produce? They eat more bugs than bats, and they cant possibly keep down a population. They only thing that KEEPS DOWN bugs is weather....done!
The bat was definitely not stuck. When I went back a little while later it had flown away. Bats spend more than half their life hanging from their feet (ie. sleeping/hibernating), they know what they are doing!
@@catherinekaminski112 another misconception. Not all bats carry diseases. Some can, but not all. But you are right, bats still shouldn’t be touched by anyone who is not vaccinated
@@catherinekaminski112 Excuse me? How about the annoying and possibly most dangerous pest, the mosquito! Carries over 21 different diseases and is responsible for a lot of disease because the females bite! Unlike the bats that have ecolocation capable of spotting a single hair on your head and leave you well enough alone as you leave them alone, mosqitos follow you around simply because you have to BREATHE!
I love bats. Even the ones that have really weird-looking faces, I think they're cute in their own way. I'd love to know where bats are roosting near where I live so I could watch them come out at night and do aerial ballet. This little guy is so freakin' cute. Thanks for filming him settling in for the day.
Awww. I came across this while searching for videos of the little brown bat. We currently have one roosting in one of our bluebird boxes. Got a perfectly good bat house on the property, but apparently this one doesn't like crowds! And, no, folks it is not sick or hurt in any way. Goes into the small entry hole of bluebird box each morning and back out again each evening without any problems.
Hello from February 10, 2019! This video stands the test of time, and is very endearing to watch. I first fell in love with the Flying-foxes of Australia about 4 months ago. They are so cute, and the orphans need mothering for 3-4 months before going into an aviary creche, to learn to be bats... This little cutie is so much smaller, and delicate looking. That doesn’t look like a very safe place to nap! Great footage! Thank you for sharing this with us!
The yawn happens at the point where the camera pulls away for a couple of seconds, the bared teeth were sudden and I thought the bat was about to fly off, so I pulled back. Turns out, the bat was only yawning.
I just helped a little brown bat in Ontario, Canada, yesterday. I love bats & think they are amazing creatures. Video of the bat I helped are posted on my channel. Your video is awesome. Great close ups.
Neat. I'm from Peru. When I was five years old me and my family took a trip to the Amazon (Iquitos, Loreto). Watching fox bats in their natural habitat really left an impression on me about nature. That and pink river dolphins.
Bat: “Oh, this spot looks good for a nap. Before I take one, let me stretch my wings a bit. Yeah, that feels good. Okay, the other wing. Oh man, that’s nice. A few more stretches. Oooh yeah! What are you looking at, bub? You’ve never seen a bat stretch before? Anyway, let’s get a few more stretches, and that will be it. Welp, I’m ready to catch some 💤.🥱(smack, smack smack). Sweet dreams for me.”
For anybody wondering why the bat is acting like that it's because they hang upside down for long periods of time and they literally wrapped their wings around themselves and use their little fingers at the front with their wings to basically lock in place and cover their faces so they don't have to see the light and that gets a little stressful after a while so instead of flying around they usually just do one Wing stretch and then they do another one Wing stretch and they do it until they feel all good again.
That is one well fed bat. Bats eat bugs. Less bats = more bugs. Cute little guy, looking right at the world one last time at 1:27 before falling asleep.
They're not even rats nor they related here's a little thing for you that's our closely related to dogs and foxes hence how a certain bat species got named the flying fox bat
Brandon Dean You can build a funnel for them to crawl out of your attic through an opening, and they won't be able to get back in. It's kind of like a minnow trap.
The deck was probably the last place he either was on when the daylight came up or it's the last place he saw when the daylight came up and it's the place where he landed if a bat is on a certain place when the sun comes up they'll stay on there until night time and then sometimes if they run out of time and it turns to daylight as they're flying they'll look at things around them and no shoes the closest thing to them and they'll just attach themself to that item until the night time
