Thanks for watching my tribute video on the History of Mathematics. I've always been fascinated by humanities' technological progress and our mathematical understanding of the universe around us. I'm curious what we'll uncover in the future, as science, math, and our collective understanding advances. If you enjoyed the video please consider leaving a like and a comment! Thanks

@dodo1 Hi, You should try taking up the free courses available online like on RU-vid (of MIT opencourseware and other reputed channels) You can also watch many channels which post tricky Olympiad level problems. Solving them will improve your skill. Practice is the best way to improve in maths afterall. As for books you don't need much. A lot of books are available online as PDFs (piracy though). Just clear out your basics, and solve questions. There are a lot of courses and resources available. If you'd tell me what exactly do you need help in, i can tell you some good free courses maybe
@WardayYT
@WardayYT Год назад
@dodo1 I recommend using RU-vid to your advantage. Whether that means searching mathematical concepts and watching videos to learn new ideas or using them to solve example problems. If you cannot get good math books, then RU-vid might be your best source for acquiring beneficial explanations and having surrogate teachers/professors. However, if you feel like you want complete independent study then there are online resources such as engineering toolbox and other online math notes websites such as paul's online math notes that you can self paced learn new concepts. Hope that helps!

But during the summer of 8th through 9th grade, I studied math hard at Khan Academy, and I fell in love with the science. Got to vectors, matrices, series. And when I came to 9th grade with this knowledge and decided to tell our math teacher about it, she just said, "Okay." Good luck with that. Now I'm studying philosophy. P.s. Theres so many comments saying that learning math from school is worse than learning math by the books, but it hurts to say that learning everything from school is worse than learning from books (with the exception of most of primary school). Im schools, you are restricted from exploring and understanding because of all the work you are being given. You also have to make sure you pay full attention and quickly write what is on the board or on your paper, otherwise you get lost and it leaves you confused, which is aggravating when it comes to people who aren’t able to always pay attention, like me, I constantly get lost in my thoughts. And then you have to do homework in order to study. And by the time we do all this we are tired. And once the semester or school year is over we dump all of our homework in the trash and then forget it after not even 2 months. All that for nothing. That is what makes us lazy and hate learning. Now lets look at books. From books, you can explore deep into subjects and learn 10 folds of what they teach you at school. You get to learn at your own pace and you can always look back at the book or the notes from the book if you ever get confused, you get to reflect for as long as you want. Also taking notes on anything from the book is more effective than doing boring work or copying whats on the board, since not only does writing notes that we understand make it easier to remember, we can always go back on them. Schools, especially my school, forget how important books are. I only get 30 minutes during my lunch time to go to the school library, since the only time people can go is during second lunch or to do work in the library. Do they not understand that the words on books last eternity while the words from people will be forgotten once they stop speaking unless somebody quoted their words? You can always look back on a book but you can’t go back to a time when someone is speaking to you. Once I realized all these things, I have never wanted to stop learning subjects from books, it’s almost like learning is my hobby. I learned C#, now i’m picking up on mathematics, especially calculus and physics. All you need are books, notes and exploration, and then you will learn from heart, not from the back of your head.

@WardayYT
@WardayYT Год назад
I recommend utilizing any online resource at your disposal as well as to start researching good math literature and books. RU-vid videos can be a great way to access information, so if you prefer that kind of teaching then simply search a subject and I'm sure you'll find something that will help. If not and you prefer a more isolated approach, then books and literature will be your best bet. Hope that helps!

Im in high school 1st year and every math class i just sit there like a dumbass and stare at the board and the wierd language that is written on it while i zone out bcs i understand nothing of what the teacher says. Troughout my education i have been in terrible schools with terrible teachers and that has made me despise math. i want to learn it on my own independently from school but i dont know where to start i would really appreciate if some of you can suggest me good courses to start with but just know i suck at math like i probably need to re-learn arithmethic thats how bad i am
@WardayYT
@WardayYT Год назад
well you can start with relearning arithmetic. You can watch videos or acquire texts such as books or online resources to try and reteach yourself some of the basic concepts. The first step is to acknowledge that you have a desire which you obviously do, so I believe in you.
