I just can’t see why this band wasn’t bigger than they were / are - burning guitar , Funk rhythms, Jazzy keys, Soul vocals and sweet American Blues melodies
I saw Little Feat with opener Bonnie Raitt in Jackson Ms. in 1977. The same tour that was featured on "In Concert". Lowell George played about 20 minutes with Bonnie during her set and they had that chemistry that just burned. Feat closed out the show with a great set and them Bonnie joined them for a 30 minute Encore and Slide Guitar Duel that was unbelievable. One of the best shows of my life.
Vintage Little Feat from the Lowell George era is just the best! Got this on vinyl in 1975, along with Electrif Lycanthrope. It was called Aurora Backseat. Played them both over and over! Is there a guest guitarist on the close out track Chevy 39? I think Ry Cooder was on the bill with the Feat for that show. If any body out there knows can they tell us people who don't know. Thanking you in anticipation.
I made a cassette of this whole show in 1982 of from my friend who had the original bootleg. This is the best Little Feat recording ever, wish the whole thing was posted...anyone?

This song sums up everything great about Little Feat instrumentally. This is so much better than the "Day at the Dog Races" fuzak direction they went in when Lowell George was ailing from too much of everything. Silly, funny rap at beginning to remind you that many greats had a sense of humor early in their career, before they ended up dead too soon, or cranky & weird like Bob Dylan. I wish this whole bootleg would get the official treatment. 1973 may be the absolute peak of Little Feat.
I've got this on a 33 1/3 record I bought in 1975...a bootleg of the entire show, and this is a highlight, to be sure. Come to think of it...this is what I played all summer long, summer of 1975...almost forty years ago...still sounds fresh to my ears.
