@@GooseMcSwan I have read it. It's sad to know that she miscarried her baby. That's something that one will never forget, and then the terrible car accident in 2014 that caused her to lose her lower legs. But it's good to know that life goes on and Merry seems to be handling the challenges that life has thrown at her. Hoping she continues strong!
This is fire!! 🔥 I’m pretty well versed in 60s and 70s music but I’m a flat out amateur when it comes to Little Feat! I know practically nothing about their discography or history.. I’m glad you guys dropped this today cause it was just what I needed!! Man, this was so good and once again you bros and the subscribers delivered the milk!!! 🥛
Three of the original members (starting from their 3rd album), Lowell George (slide guitar and vocals, lead songwriter), Paul Barerre (lead guitarist, singer, songwriter), and Richie Haryward (drummer) have all passed away. Remaing from that period and featured on this song and still with the band is congo player and singer here, Sam Clayton, Keyboardist Bill Payne, and Bass guitarist Kenny Gradney. The other guitarist was then a fan of the band, and has been with them now for 20+ years, Fred Tacket.
I saw them playing in a college gym in 1974, and caught their 50th anniversary tour in 2019. And they're touring this year- maybe you'll have a chance to see them!
My sisters used to tell me I was the milkman’s baby 😂. I believed them too. I used to watch him from my bedroom window while he put milk bottles in the little tin box on the front porch 😂. That was so mean of them 😂
Just saw Little Feat June 29th in St, Paul,, Mn. They did a song from their new album, Sam''s Place. Still a few original and almost original guys in the band. They are amazing.
Still a tight band, and I hear they’re great live. But, in my opinion they’ve never been the same since Lowell George died in 1979. I respect them carrying on with the band’s legacy, but hearing them play without George just makes me miss him even more than the old recordings with him do. To each his own, I guess.
Sam Clayton (Percussion, vocals), Kenny Gradney (bass), Billy Payne (Keys) are still there from the 70's and Fred Tackett on guitar joined in the early 80's I think. The drummer and the other guitar player are newer additions. Scott Sherrard (guitar) used to be the leader of Gregg Allman's band when he was touring solo. I've seen this bunch twice in the last couple of years here in Austin and they still bring it heavy every night.
Little Feat’s original bassist was former member of the Mothers of Invention Roy Estrada, he moved on after recording the first two Feat albums to play with Captain Beefheart. He is currently in prison for committing sex crimes against children and won’t be released until 2037 (if he lives that long).
Here's another suggestion for a new group to give a listen, if interested. "Carpenters - I Need to Be In Love" (by the channel: RAMON BAUSTISTA) --The Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental group consisting of siblings Karen (youngest) and Richard (oldest) Karen was the lead vocalist and Richard harmonized each played instruments Karen played drums while Richard played piano. They had a unique soft musical style and beautiful harmonies, while Richard arranged and composed the music. Tragically we lost Karen to "Anorexia Nervosa" an eating disorder at the tender age of 32 yrs. old in 1983. RIP: Karen 💔🥁🔥U R Missed peace out~
