LITTLE GEM CANTEEN FROM THE 60s - SINGAPORE FOOD TOURS Hi guys.. sorry I was in a rush to post this. In Malaysia now 😅 Here’s the address: Bitesize Theatre Productions goo.gl/maps/LsWFyDCnC199Hw8i6 Nearest mrt Stadium. 10min walk
Wah. The kopi O and toast combo from the uncle........ 😋😋 Kway chap not bad! The malay rice there tried 2 stalls b4. Pretty good. About half the price of those near my work place.
Wow.... coffee man sell here for 54 years! I would have been bored long before that! Must be really nice coffee. Toast looks good too! I'm a sucker of coffee toast & half boiled eggs.
@@Piggypuggy No problems la, nowadays everywhere also need to return yourself. Besides where else can one get a coffee made by someone with 54 years experience?? If nothing else, that's a reason to go for a drink.
Very nice. Only been there once in the evening for steamboat. Been meaning to eat that kway chap, but somehow or other, it never happened. Really need to make it happen.
@@Piggypuggy Ate the kway chap this morning. It's a cheap and decent meal, didn't blow me away, sorry I'm hard to please. Chilli could have a little more kick. Still a good meal and will go back if I get the hankering for it again.
Hello!Piggypuggy 😄 At last I have a peaceful time watching your video. It's really remind me of my grandpa bringing me to a coffee shop and seeing this apek usually we call Apek Hilam wearing white Tshirt and Black short making the coffee. My grandpa like most is the black coffee mixed with the butter .. those were the days ...😄 Tq Piggypuggy for sharing this video and happy weekend 👍😄
PPuggy, the government should give u an award or put up a special plaque in recognition of your delightful vblogging of various hawker centres, bringing in lots of tourists.
😅 aww.. thanks Cat.. Just wanted to preserve some of the old hawker scene before it’s overrun by minions who doesn’t care of the food is any good. Been eating too much tho.. I still belong to the generation that can’t seem to leave the food unfinished 😕
hi yeeee haaarrr... thanks for sharing good food video again.. kway chap in singapore, kway tiao kia in malaysia.. nice for both. inviting you over to JB to explore & intro more delicious food to all 😄
@@limsg9755 I don’t drive instead prefer to take bus and MRT cheaper use the petrol money to eat nice food. So please let me know whether I can take MRT to this HC, jln Benang?
@@Wanyann nearest MRT is Stadium MRT on Circle Line. 5-10 min walk to Jalan Benaan Kapal, in the direction of Tanjung Rhu. There's a side gate at Stadium Crescent.
@@user-um8wi5ym4y kum sia 🙏 will go there either Wednesday or Thursday. Monday & Tuesday quite risky to go because market & HC cleaning day. Waste time if I go they are closed. I want eat that delicious looking kway chap and the jiggly pork skins 😋😋👍
@@Wanyann it's more like industrial area canteen so it's on private land and privately operated. Last time that area was a shipyard and this canteen served those shipyard workers. Now it serves those who works at sportshub.
@@Piggypuggy thanks, as long as there’s MRT I can find my way there. But not going tomorrow lah, because it’s mother’s day so let the kids buy us dinner in restaurant.🤪
Thanks for sharing.. but you made us drool without telling us the actual location. There are many old schools food center in Singapore. Appreciate if you can give more details on this part so that we can chiong there for the coffee toast 🙏
@@Piggypuggy Piggy mate, it's not the salads that get me down. Like I said before, the food here in Ballarat is like stepping back into the white bread 1970s. I'm down to Melbourne on Friday for some real Australian food. Besides, I find Singapore just the most vibrant and interesting place.
Went there twice and both times the kwap chap stall was closed. Would you happen to know the operating hours? Ended up eating the century egg minced pork porridge at the next stall Director of Porridge. Quite good.
Usually should be sold out by mid afternoon. Coz everyone's having it. Lunch time should be safe. Director or porridge is new. Haven't tried it. Used to be a vadai stall
Actually in olden days, older generation eat lots animal organs, eg heart, trotters, liver, bone broth. The gelatin in them helps our cartilage, etc, ? reason older generation so fit/strong. True, the sight of intestines makes one feel queasy eg in Spain, skinned rabbits are sold but last 15 years no longer sold in resort supermarkets in Mallorca as the sight is quite off putting. In France, horse meat, snails are often eaten, couldn't bear sucking snails out of their shells!!!!, each to his own is the expression.
@@catherinehui795 I was actually ok with eating it when I was younger but don't know why as i grew older I start to feel queasy about it. Speaking of rabbit meat, if the world can move towards having it as a staple its actually alot more healthy and environmentally friendly than red meats. Maybe in 50 years time people will be eating more rabbits and insects as food.
