That is a slick ladder. I have a Little Giant original and absolutely love it. Great features on this one, and I appreciate that "ground Cue", as I've stepped off the wrong rung more times than I care to admit.
I have this ladder and its awesome! He mentions that the slimmer side is also meant to get into attics but on my ladder (I got the QVC model 5 with the Quad pod accessory) the instructions say to NOT step on those section of rungs. Hmmmm.... if I could step onto those rungs I will be an even happier camper.
When it's in extension you can step on the rungs - just don't go higher than it tells you when using it as an extension ladder. If you're using it as an access, you can step on them - but you have to be sure there is something to grab onto in your attic, because I'd hate for you to go up too high and slide the ladder away as you stepped up. That could be dangerous. The instructions may also be telling you that those aren't meant to be stepped on when the ladder is in a-frame because it's not designed to be used as a double sided a-frame ladder.
I have had a regular little giant for about 20 years. They are pretty much indestructable. A little heavy to carry around but it feels safe, you can do a lot of things with it like stairs I will never get rid of it
I was looking at this ladder and little giant doesn't carry any option for storage while on the ladder to set tools or paint on, do you know of a good 3rd party accessory that works with this ladder for that?
