HYPERLITE
HyperLite™ Extension Ladder
Ordinary extension ladders are heavy; and always have been. The leading cause of extension ladder injury is linked to the weight of the ladder-often resulting in torn rotator cuffs, herniated disks, ankle sprains and knee ligament tears from loading and unloading or carrying heavy traditional extension ladders. These injuries have simply been part of using extension ladders, until now.
The Little Giant® HyperLite™ extension ladder is the lightest Type IA and IAA fiberglass extension ladder in the world, bar none. The patent-pending HyperLite weighs up to 40 percent less than the leading competitor’s standard fiberglass ladder without sacrificing strength and stability. The HyperLite’s wide rungs provide great comfort, reducing foot fatigue and are very easy to replace. It also features Little Giant’s unique side-mounted, dual-pulley system, which reduces the effort required to lift the fly section by 45% and removes a potential trip hazard caused by traditional center-pulley rope systems. The patent-pending Sure-Set™ foot allows you to set the feet in either flat or spike positions and have them stay in place.
Little Giant’s patent-pending hi-viz green rail is one of the most easily detected color hues to the human eye. Why should a ladder need to be hi-viz? Some of the most catastrophic falls are caused by people who walk or drive into an extension ladder in use.
The HyperLite is available in the following duty ratings and sizes:
Extra Heavy Duty Type IA - 300 lbs: 16’, 20’, 24’, 28’, 36′ and 40′.
Special Duty Type IAA - 375 lbs: 16’, 20’, 24’, 28’ and 32′.
Complies with all OSHA, ANSI A14 strength and testing standards. Rung/step spacing complies to OSHA and Int’l standards.*
*OSHA 1910.23, OSHA 1926.10.53, CSA Z11, EN131-1, AS/NZS 1892.2.6.2

Is this Hyperlite on the market with the “integrated ratchet leveler”? I like this concept better than the sumo.

This ladder is great for the fact it’s super light but I found that the ratchet levels are not very good. Will not lock if you only need say an 1/2 inch for the one side. Also when trying to release the lock there are times no matter the position you cannot unlock without slamming ur foot down on it. Just my thoughts on it.

As a safety feature it will not release until you slightly lift the ladder - we don't want anyone to release the levelers while a person is on it. As far as the locking at half-inch, they are around 1/2" increments and should lock in place every half inch on either side. I would contact customerservice@ladders.com if it is having an issue.

Are the ratcheting levelers available as an add on?

No. We used to make a leveling attachment in the past, but it quickly became antiquated when we started incorporating them built-in to some of our ladders. I would look into the SumoStance which has outriggers for unlevel terrain (while also making it up to 6 times more side-tip stability) if you want a fiberglass extension ladder, or if you need a fiberglass articulating ladder that can go from A-frame to Extension, look for the Conquest 2.0 All-Terrain.

bought 100 of them and most of the levelers are broken within the first week of use.. they don't lock in place.. push down no clicking shoots back up.. sitting in big pile now..

Please contact the rep or salesperson who helped you to ensure you are satisfied. All ladders do require a little bit of maintenance and inspection before use, and depending on the jobsite, dirt and mud could get in the mechanics of the levelers. However, maintaining them will ensure they work properly.

The HyperLite meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards. Feel free to contact Little Giant directly to see if they can tell you where this one is available to purchase.
