It really was, kids should watch it today but ashame they would prob find it boring, but it had so many positive messages to teach people in general, considering it was such a light-hearted show, actually dealt with some quite hard-hitting subject, especially for the time.
I started watching this again during the Covid pandemic. It really helps my depression.. in 1974 my husband and I were watching it between working and college. Thank you.
Yeah, I've been feeling really sad and depressed during the lockdown and Covid as well and Little House is bringing back nostalgia from my childhood and making me feel better
I have been watching too. Huge fan. So much nostaglia from my childhood. Reminds me of happier (and safer) times. Definitely helps lift my mood. Wonderful show.
Caroline Ingalls, Karen Grassle, was a big reason why the show was a hit. She didn't get enough credit for her part. Truth is the all fit together so well
You are absolutely, correct. Karen Grassle, is the one who, along with, Michael Landon, made this show a No.1 show. And of course Melissa Gilbert. But Karen Grassle didn’t get enough, Respect for her portrayal, as Caroline Ingalls. Wonderful and very Strong, Actress.
@@brendaholman3835 Couldn't agree more. Perfect Mom, especially in tough times. Never understood why Landon couldn't see how important her character was.
Thank you, Karen Grassle, was treated terribly, by Michael Landon, after, the show was picked up, by NBC, to be a series and Karen rightfully, asked Michael for a new Contract amount, than, the one that, she originally, entered into, during the pilot of the show. But, Michael Landon, simply refused to, acknowledge, Karen as his equal, on the show. Michael Landon, Gabe her hell, but, she sued, and Won her Lawsuit. But, if Karen, was not the Bedt Actor, for the part of Caroline Ingalls, then Michael Landon, being the Executive Producer of the show, could have Replaced her, at any time, but, he never did. Because he knew, that Karen Grassle, was Indeed, the Key 🔑 to the success, of this Very Popular Family Show. But he didn’t, because, he needed her for the show to be successful. And it was such a success, and the rest is history.
I have always loved Little House..it was the one show that my mother and I would watch together...I have often thought how nice it would be if some of that program was a reality in today's world..what a difference there would be for today's generation
In fairness, you don't need a whole lot of self confidence to age gracefully when you've been outstandingly naturally beautiful your whole life. Any plastic surgeon worth their salt would turn Melissa Sue Anderson away at the door, her face is technically flawless from a cosmetic POV.
i met her back in 78 or 9 at a ross dress for less in granada hills...i was about 16 and she had very blond hair...she was with her mom and we were standing at the checkout. even then she was very approachable. would love to see her in more films.
I’m rewatching the entire series from the pilot until season 5 . I have wonderful memories of this show when i was a kid . I watched it religiously every night. Watching it in 2024 , it’s so bittersweet . I remember days of feeling so sad about some type of preteen drama, I’d watch this show, and I’d forget for an hour. This is the best series and show of all time.
I loved her best in the Little House episode where she accidentally burned the barn some studying for test. She showed the exemplitory example of the obedient child by not taking the test. She reminded me of myself some in the end where she cried because she felt she disobeyed her mother by not telling Mrs. Beadle right away she couldn't take the test. I,too, as a child would have rather died than let my mama know I disobeyed her. That's respect. Mrs. Beadle always seem to be pushing for Mary to be her star pupil, and be a teacher.

Karen Stewart absolutely. My boyfriend always laughs at me because from 5-8 pm. I have to watch the show! Lol. It takes you back to a place when things were simple. There is always a message behind every episode. We need more shows like this today 🖤
@@c.lachellewallace8482 I totally agree. It seemed as if I was always crying because it was so genuine. I have a whole collection of Little House on the Prairie. All of the actors and actresses were really great! My favorite episodes of LHOTP were the ones where Laura had to find God on the highest mountain. Mary going blind, Laura is with Charles and she bumps the shot gun and it hit Charles. All that comes to mind is Charles saying, dear Lord please do let her see me die. Also the one where Laura found a baby in the creek and the little girl who walked with a limp and Nelly made fun of her. They were all good! You are so very right about all of the episodes had a meaning to them. Oh thank you so very much for your thoughts on LHOTP. It is such a classic for me as is Medical Center, Marcus Welby MD and Ben Casey. Thanks again you are the first friend that I have been able to text to about one of my favorite tv shows. Please text again.😊😄
@ Karen Stewart. I agree with you also. I love all of those old shows. Another one that I loved was Almighty Isis & the White Shadow. I could go on all day😀. LHOTP. Comes on in 10 mins on Cozi TV. 🤣🤣
I grew up with this show and "wonderful world of disney",love that era and i wish our kids could experience life back then. The world was so much safer and polite........
She seems to be a likeable person, doesn't come off arrogant and seems to be humble about her place in acting. Not a showy person, just what you see is what you get.
Read what Melissa Gilbert said about her. I was shocked. Not sure where to locate it, but I think it was in a memoir by Gilbert. Or something. Really surprising and saddening. Apparently, not a nice person at all.
@@lisakay1006 Alison Arngrim didn't say that Melissa Sue Anderson isn't a nice person NOW, she said that they didn't get along when they were children. Melissa Gilbert trashes quite a few people in her book. I don't know what she said about Melissa Sue Anderson, but I'd imagine it's along the same lines as Alison Arngrim, because she and Alison were best friends as kids, and remain very close to this day. Alison Arngrim also said in her book that her aunt told her back in the day not to give Melissa Sue Anderson a hard time, because Melissa 'wasn't happy at home'. Alison recounts a time at a theme park where Melissa was eager to join in the fun with everybody else, but then her mother appeared and she suddenly shrunk back into herself and wouldn't join in. Melissa Sue Anderson was reserved and introverted as a child, and her mother was very overprotective and overbearing. Whereas Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim were both extroverts with very lax parents. It was inevitable that there'd be cliques and clashes on set when they were all thrown together for long hours, in blistering heat, for months on end, while going through puberty! I believe there was probably some jealousy going on too, especially over boys. Alison had a huge crush on Radames Pera who played John Edwards Jr in Little House, and IIRC she said Melissa Gilbert did too. Melissa Sue Anderson had a lot of scenes with Radames, including kissing scenes. But she didn't like him, and Alison resented her for that, for some reason. Probably jealousy. It would hardly be the first time a tween/teen girl gang took a disliking to a strikingly beautiful peer. By all accounts Melissa Sue Anderson wasn't warm or friendly in those days, but she was a child for most of her time on LHOTP, and we have no idea what was going on in her personal life that might've contributed to that.
Of the LHOP cast interviews I've seen thus far, she comes across as the most humble, calm, and least self-absorbed. She's been married to the same man for nearly 30 years and candidly talks here about placing her family's needs ahead of her own self-inclinations. Juxtaposed against some of the other cast members, I'd take such gossip about her with a grain of salt.
Little House is one of those shows that is relatable to people young and old.The language or spoken English is the way it should be now we have words that are all messed up.Little House gives a sense of family life and what being a close family should be.In this day and age we don’t have that anymore.
I grew up watching Little House on the Praire. I've been watching this again a lot during the Covid19 pandemic and It does comes me down and it helps with stress. I now watch the shows from a spiritual point of view and I love it. Most of the episodes ministers to me, in a personal loving way.
I own the entire DVD set of Little House On The Prairie and watched every episode, Watching them again just made me appreciate how great a show Little House was, It definitely took me back to a much better time, Just simply heartwarming.
I fell madly in love with her from the first show I ever saw back then and had a flame for her every week until the end and even on into reruns... Her face smile and eyes were the things this little boy fell for... Woww she's just as captivating now..

I’ve loved since I was a little girl and my Husband bought me all the dvds of most episodes and I still love watching them to this very day ! I never will get enough of this wholesome dvds that are left ❤2024
I always and still think that she was such a great actress. She was dealt so many dramatic story lines on Little House at such a young age. She pulled them off so realistically. Thank you and the rest of the cast for good quality television. I miss that so much.
i grew up watching Little House on the Prairie and i am 48 years old now and i have always watched Little House on the Prairie no matter if i have seen all the episodes millions of times love all the actress and actors, always will love Little House on the Prairie and i will still watch all the episodes. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION.
I grew up watching the show, I will have to say at my age now the show really touched my heart and soul. I can't watch it without crying anymore, the show helped me fully understand what my mother was teaching me and my siblings about Family and life. This show and the Walton's, make me cry still today, because they were what being a real Family was about. Family being there for Family no matter what. And always helping those who needed help. They were great clean shows about Family and God . They were not afraid to put God And the Bible in them, I guess what I'm trying to say is that these 2 shows were really great family shows. As I said before too this day they still make me cry, I guess because I have watched my own family pass away through the years, And I miss the good old days, were running through the grass barefoot and feeling the grass on your feet was fun. I do miss them days.
The two most devastating moments on this show for me were when Mary's baby died and when Mary went blind. Melissa's talent in how she played those episodes is a major part of that.

About a month ago I started re-watching Little House and I absolutely love it. I thought if I watched it I would be turned off by how old it is but once I played it, it took me back to my childhood. Not only that, the love, respect and family values is something that's very rarely seen now a day and I've tried so hard to instill alot from this show. Maybe my kids should watch it. They'll learn some things.
" I think they liked my blue eyes..." Umm, yeah! I remember melting like butter when the camera would focus in on those baby blues. Melissa was my first boyhood crush.
Though the show was sometimes historically inaccurate and occasionally sappy, I still love the show. The episode where Mary goes blind and all you can see is Ma, and you hear Mary upstairs screaming in the dark. Still sends chills down the spine. All were great actors.
I love the show little house on the prairie I loved all the characters and I still do I watch the show faithfully everyday and I love all the books it is the best show ever I would love to meet all the ones who are still living the show is so special
Melissa Sue Anderson was my first crush as a young kid. Her eyes were gorgeous...It was hard to see her character go blind....It seemed as if the show changed forever.

She has carried her age well. Great show over all, although tragic in some episodes.... I remember it coming on weekday afternoons after I got home from school back in the mid 80s. I couldn't wait to see the next episode.....
We loved this series growing and still do! In fact, we wear dresses all the time. When we were little our Auntie would make us dresses much like the show and one server at our favorite restaurant used to call us his "little house girls" of course after the show. We just loved it to pieces!

Watching this in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic and never realized how many pandemic episodes they had! 😳🥴I love this show especially as I wait for Jesus to return!

I am 54 and still watch Little House at 54 years old. Tv is not like it was back in the day were you really didnt have to monitor what your kids are watching let alone monitoring what i watch as an adult. THSANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU😇
She seems not only beautiful, but also very kind and down to earth. What a life! Made money on a great show that taught values and kindness, then was able to do only what she wanted. She had her kids and had the time and money to stay home with them and be a wife, and do a part here and there. God Bless her.
Little house on the prairie and Anne of Green Gables was my very first tv show when I came to America in January 16th 1992. I was 6 year old, my adopted mom and I would watch this together and I fell in love with Charles ingalls and Laura and Mary with all the beautiful family bond and love they had for each other.. And Anne for being a orphan with great imagination like me.. Anyway I loved both shows.. RIP Patricia Caroline my hero and my inspiration I miss you mom and love you your little girl from Korea Cyntheinna Elizabeth... Seaun Young Lee
one of the most beautiful set of eyes to grace the tv. Other one was Morgan Britanny. LHOTP - the best TV series ever. Nothing can match it to this day, its still evergreen. Most fantastic actors & actresses. Imagine they were children, some adults can even act.
SO lovely to hear an actor recall their time with a hit show so fondly, especially an actor who was so young during the show's run! It would have been nice to see Melissa perform more roles as an adult but I think stepping away from H'wood likely has VERY much to do with what a gracious lady she is.
So amazing and wonderful that she left her face ( and lips!) alone. She doesn't even have any particularly powerful lighting or filters on in this tape and she's very lovely. Her half-pint sis made a mess of her face....!
That's some screening to go from 200 kids and narrow it down to just selecting two for the roles of Laura and Mary. I see why Melissa Anderson was chosen, as she commented, those blue eyes made her a standout from other kids. Her blonde hair and angelic looks made her the natural choice as sister to Melissa.
sisophous it's chemistry, too. How does she interact with the other cast on screen. I'm sure Michael had a lot to do with picking the final cast members. He was the main star, after all.

Wouldn't it be nice if Hollywood realises that today in a world of turmoil, wholesomeness is what we need instead of pouring fuel on the fire continuously? Thank God that we are able to revisit LHOTP which reminds people how it used to be, and surprisingly so much younger folks are discovering it too and is now watching, Michael would be so surprised but pleased.
Yeah, that's right she was Millicent in the Brady Bunch, right? Loved Little House, especially when the girls were little. Still catch the reruns. Precious! Miss all the actors that have passed since this series.
