I have to agree with some of the other comments. An outs format home run derby is always better. I understand that it takes longer and maybe they didn’t have the time but it’s unfortunate when the pitching isn’t as consistent to one batter as another. It looked like that Noah kid was gonna roll through the championship.
Single elimination is a poor way to go when one kid moves ahead with 6 or 8 and another goes home with 9. And it's obvious in the boys' finale what happens when the pitcher gets tired and inconsistent. How about a timed machine in the future, to make things fair?
Why did the boys have such a short fence? Also, why weren't any of the heavy hitters from this year's LLWS in the derby? Like the Thornton kid from Michigan for example.
The home run derby is set up by a corporation (T-Mobile), rather than LL Inc. I think in major cities they run contests, and what we see are the semi-finalists that were whittled down from all contenders. They stage it on TV in Williamsport to cash in on the LLWS, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but you're right -- some of the LLer's in the LLWS should easily be in the derby, too.
That last kid got cheated. That pitcher was flawless and quick with every delivery for the other kid, but through a bunch of balls and took forever to get some pitches off
For real he completely screwed Punjabi in the final, half his pitches to him were outside. Clearly got tired by the end they should have had a replacement.
It is completely silly, especially with metal bats, the league I run is all wood, all ages. Hate the sound of tin and how kids think they are so much better than they are with that huge sweet spot.
When are they going to stop churching this tournament up. Everyone knows the kids with the big talent aren’t wasting their time playing little league ball. They’re busy playing travel ball.
@@lm_Cray When watching male sports (e.g. football, baseball), I want to hear commentary from men, and especially from men who have themselves played the sport at a higher level. The better question to ask, in my opinion, is why the recent trend of using female announcers for male sports? I think the answer is the encroachment of progressive ideology into just about every aspect of our lives.
@@derkardinal9781 This is a little league home run derby, right? Something fun albeit competitive outside of the season grind. I think you are a bit out of touch and have an agenda der chauvinist. Are you upset that a male commented on the girls portion of the home run derby? More likely you just don't think softball should exist because well, you know.
@@alansatticisempty My comment was primarily referring to adult sports, but the point still stands. The agenda is not with me, but with a form of social marxism, which is attempting to eliminate distinctions and boundaries between males and females. If you aren't aware of that, perhaps you are the one who is out of touch.
