Thanks for doing all these no commentary video. I like lets plays but sometimes I just want to not listen to someone chatter over a game. Keep it up. Cheers
I think it's that the ship itself runs off SIN. And Gluttony is one of the easiest sins of them all to be enticed into. Gluttony leads to greed, and greed leads to vanity. The Lady doesn't want to be taken by her sin to become a fuel for her ship, so she breaks every mirror in order to resist Vanity since she is the last beautiful thing in this hellish place. Six is beautiful, and so to save herself from ENVY The Lady cast her down into the prison. But Six, six is the most powerful of all. She hungers for Sin, she hungers for revenge for every wrongdoing on The Maw. She's Wrath. And in the end, her Wrath consumes her. And she receives a power that takes from others, that demands compensation for her and those wronged.
Hannah Lawrence that's a really cool interpretation. I thought that the meaning behind this is that no matter how innocent and "pure" you are, as long as you are surrounded by demons you'll learn how to be one too.
Well, the thing is, the DLC throws it out the window. The Lady broke all the mirrors because, underneath her mask, she's actually hideous. I always just interpreted it as Six and the characters being examples of humanity at its lowest point; Six seemed to be innocent at first because she's so little, and yet she has no problem with eating rats and nomes to survive, even when given other options. I think the game is really highlighting how we focus on using our baser instincts when it comes to survival. Along the way, you see all of those instincts at face value. The first is suicide (taking the easy way out), the next is taking things without caution (eating the meat in the cage), the next is reaching out to goals with limited support (the Janitor's blindness), the next is over-indulgence that looks the same no matter which way you look at it (the twin Chefs and the Guests), and finally ignoring the truth by way of shutting it out (the Lady's appearance). Then, when survival has been made certain, balance is restored one way or another - good combats evil, evil combats good. Good takes the form of evil to succeed, and evil takes the form of good once it diminishes.
The Plot: (just my theory) Girl named six sneaks on to the maw. (in briefcase) a place for guests to eat and stay and where children have been being kidnapped. I believe she was trying to find the woman in the beginning. Rumor is the woman has something Six believe will end her hunger. Reason being the hunger is slowly killing her. (The reason the guy hung himself in the beginning. Knowing his fate of dying in this place with no way back) Six hearing this rumor heads to the maw, Her hunger problems get much worse, along the way six consumes and consumes because of her hunger, slowly becomes worse in what she eats, going from the person offering her food to the woman. Knowing how the mirror works Six defeats the woman. Six eats the woman (death) when her hunger comes back. As to avoid death. The woman (death) had been inviting people to her maw to stay and eat. Little did the people know. They were eating other people. (Men and Children) The woman would feed these people and consume their life force. Using their bodies as meat and feed. Repeating a cycle. Little did Six know the consequences. She never needs to eat again, but, She could never be around people again. She became a new death. being stuck on the island at the end with no way back.
man i was really confused at the end of this and i had no idea what all that was about Then after reading your comment it all makes sense...... kind of I'm still a little bit confused, but now less confused thank you
KHlover369 The fat people represent hunger and greed. Eating and Eating, but never satisfied. Death drew in these fat people knowing they would come. As much food as they can eat and a free place to stay. Sounds great on paper. Notice how the fat people keep eating even when Six is killing the others off?
*child offers the protagonist a sausage* Me: Awwww that's so sweet of him! *child gets eaten instead* Me: ... See this is why you can't always be nice to people.
I think the meat is made out of the diners that get too fat to carry on..~ That way, it's a never ending cycle. The kids are way too scrawny for it. *Hell, it could even be both. Why would they discriminate for that task?*
Not like it really matters.~ They have no role whatsoever in the story. Except for being a food source, I suppose. But still, why name 'em~? Hell, the same goes for the protagonist's name. There is no point. XD
That raincoat is remarkable , impervious to any kind of stain or tear. She didn't get any oil or blood on it at all. But yea will possibly get this game on steam when i see it on discount/sale.
yea but the stains vanish, she didn't need to wash it or jump in a pool of water or anything. Clothes in games are always something else it seems , like clothes that seem completely dry when u were just wet.
shieldgenerator7 so I guess cutting and expense once just was a viable option, and a game budget!? So you couldn't have just buy it once and deal with consequences. Unless your w college student then I understand
see all i thought the same thing. bathhouse type feel. they come on a boat to this place were they eat and eat and eat and you have to find your way out.
This was BY FAR the greatest walk through/Let's play I've seen yet. I loved every second so I subbed lol. Keep up these silent playthroughs. If you do see this comment I'd love to know what you thought of the ending?
After raincoat ate the woman, I was thinking oh yes payback time cause I saw the black aura. Then raincoat opened the elevator I think or was it a door?🤔 Anyway i was like yesss time to give those monsters what they deserve and then he/she walked in looking cool.I was so happy, beacause those hoggish people were trying to kill her and the sight of them eating was absolutely disgusting no decency loll🤣. Well for some reason I want to chose to believe that the character is female, yeah so 'she' killed em. I'm not really sure but i guess you could call it a happy ending...? I really don't know😅
Omg ItsLoren I thought that to and they provide a bit more light ( now that I think about it six could have stolen the lamp oil to make her confrontations easier )
seems like her craving changes or is revealed throughout the course of the game. first it was the sandwich the prisoner throws her, then the raw meat in the cage. the the live rat that was trapped. by this time i became suspicious about her. By the time she got to the Nome, i knew she was going to eat him. My only question is what the hell is she?
The meat's made from flesh. It has people in it; it makes them go crazy and wanting to eat other people which is why Six ate the Nome and the lady and also why the Guests were trying to eat her.
That's assuming people even exist in this world. We assume six is a human but her behavior towards the end makes that uncertain. The lady of the vessel isn't human, neither are the nomes or the guests. This could just have been a world filled with monsters. Six seems to be a different type of predator.
Everyone is very upset about how the little girl ate the triangle guy, and I can understand that. But I can't help but being on the girl side. I mean, she's traumatized for life, she's been assaulted by monsters, it's not that surprising that she became a monster herself, you know. She adjusted herself to the environment so she could survive. To me, it's the most sensible thing to do.
It's like opposite Hitler to me ^^ Sure it was horrible, but she ended up gaining a power that could stop that misery altogether. Good out weighs the bad imo
MzPirateQueen hello You can just come over and see her and get him and you could come to my work here in about two hours so I’m not going to come home 🏡 was that good night 😘😴🌙💤 is that time for me to get home from my work day So goodbye
I hate people who say "lel it was ez to figure out the plot in 5 mins" but meh......i feel like that was me, I have seen things like this before in media and even in games.... Still it's got good atmosphere and the design is nice. Good game.
@@troywright359 What did the chefs ever do wrong? They're just doing their jobs, and after the guest area, I had MAD newfound respect for them. Holy shit. The only reason they chase you is because they assume you're a rodent, and I mean, would you want a rodent scurrying in your kitchen?
The horror in this game REALLY picked up towards the end and I was getting so sucked in. I've read some comments now from folks who explained the plot and it does make sense from the bits I was picking up myself. Excellent game. Though I tried to watch it while eating dinner and kinda couldn't.
Same here. The entire guest area, I couldn't stop thinking of Golden Corral, the feeding trough of 'Murica. When I went to the States, it was among the first places we ate at. Good lord, this game brought me right back to that.
Those cramped and kids-packed cruises sound nightmarish. I hate boats. =_= Even swimming on the ocean creeps me out. I tend to get swept out to distances out of my comfort. -smfh-
Looks like they used a lot of the same techniques. After watching the Inside GDC talk, I gained even more appreciation for this art style. There are a ton of subtle lighting touches and perfected shader effects going on that you normally wouldn't notice.
I love this game it so different from everything today. I hope they keep making them even tho this won't be something a lot will pick up. This game is very well appreciated by gamers with variety and a love for that old puzzle platform. 🖤
Kendall Poe this games was inspired by another company who are making games like that...inside and limbo.. already done this..but I do like how little nightmares was made by different company who making games like inside n limbo
Nick Mena ah, k ;) I assumed that the OP was talking about killing him/herself instead of being eaten alive.. But now I noticed that the OP didn't make it clear either way
I really noticed the part where the 2 chefs start to chase you around, and then the horns that play sound exactly like their labored breathing. Very stylish game in a strange way. Many of the objects appear hand made or crudely made, there are huge piles of stuff everywhere, and imo a very distinct ambiance. A unique game for sure.
@MKIceAndFire your gaming walk through is the cleanest I've ever seen. I've seen a lot of RU-vidrs with shot gaming channels that they stream, where they completely 100% sick at whatever video game they're showcasing as well as duck at video games in general. Or they spend hours talking and never shut up. Your showcase of this game is soon professional and put together man. Good job! I'd definitely subscribe to you, if you have more gaming videos put together like this.👍
This game is making me feel a bit sick and givin me some major anxiety, but I don't really want to to stop watching because it seems like a great game... I'd never be able to play it myself though >.
this is so important for me to say, thank you very much for have played this game and did it without commentary, it is more enjoyable to watch it this way (in my personal opinion) thanks again! keep it up.
I Absolutely loved this game, very creepy indeed. The only part that Made me emotional is when Six Became a Canibal and ate the Nome instead of the sausage... this game has got to be one of the best creepy games, it also reminds me of Coraline
I love how you can play a 4 hour-long game* in 2 hours. You're a legend (*when i looked up the playtime, i found people saying 4 hours. But i guess if you're a pro it takes less time)
I have a theory, I think the triangle hatted guys (or gnomes if you say) are like us somehow, maybe they got stuck here and trying to show you how to get out of this madness of a boat, the have a triangle hat or hoodie like us also. So there is no different between you the player and the gnome. Trying to run and hide so you dont die. Plus they show you hiding spots. I'm thinking this because you always see them hide in dark spots or under tables.
I'm just gonna comment that the camera ultra-panning out when Six exits a porthole of the ship is...is.....is....I mean, I temporarily went into a daze. Those effects, man! That gaming cinematography is on a whole new level meant to frigging blow the mind to space.
I feel like watching George Shrinks now LOLXD. Wonderful game and thanks for posting. I'm watching this twice in one day. It's creepy yet strangely satisfying.
I like a horror game that gives you anxiety when you play it knowing something creepy is standing right there and you have to stay hidden. Not a game thats like jumpscare, jumpscare, jumpscare!!!
Hey whats up! I watched every video you played in this game, and now I want to get this game for myself. I was laughing all the way through it! I liked the way you did the voice, how did you change your voice? anyway I enjoy all your videos you put up on RU-vid!! your friend Ken
Just get an ad-blocker, like what most people do. It's a free extension on chrome. I'm not so sure if you're watching this from your phone though, I know it's fine on my laptop.
Untill this,i always thought that the janitor had no feet just half a body and his long arms were for dragging himself around. When i spotted his legs and feet, Wtf, 🤣 I thought they looked cute lol!😂
Don't know if I am disturbing with fact that she ate a rat or if the rat was bigger than her. In matter of fact, this game sacres me in every single possible level... That's why I love it! Also, did somebody noticed something: First, it was bread what she eats. Then it was a mouse, an alive mouse. Third, it's a child and then the final boss. It is just me, or this four things had a meaning? Is like... she starts weak and then she grows stronger. Anyone agreed?
The Plot: Girl named six sneaks on island (in briefcase) to try to find the woman in the beginning. Rumor is the woman has something Six believe will end her hunger. Reason being the hunger is slowly killing her. (The reason the guy hung himself in the beginning. Knowing his fate of dying in this place with no way back) Six hearing this rumor heads to the maul, Her hunger problems get much worse, along the way six consumes and consumes because of her hunger, slowly becomes worse in what she eats, going from the person offering her food to the woman. RICE-BITS Actually she did took off the Island, At the end Six when she obtains the ability to consume souls, She walks to the Boat where the "customers" used to travel to.
Basically, in the island people are cursed to keep eating and eating thats why they are so distorted fat and creepy, you try to escape the trap but end up getting cursed by the woman too, your appetite grows, you even eat one of the nomes (white triangle hooded creatures that are small). You basically become one of the "customers" who just keep eating and eating. Also i believe the meat comes from the fat customers as well.
here's my theory about the game: a little girl named Six got trapped on a mysterious ship called the Maw ruled by an evil spirit. the evil spirit was a beautiful geisha who turns lost souls into inhuman people who are addicted to gluttony, cannibalism, slaughter, and greed. the more negative they become, the more negative energy she feeds on so she can gain more power. she also kidnaps children from their homes and places them in a nursery where they have to stay inside and stay in bed. but if they break the rules, the janitor puts them in cages and later kills them and sends them to the twin chefs to cook and serves them to the guests. Six not only devour the geisha to stop her hunger, but gained power to stop all of the madness the geisha had made and probably turned the humans back to normal. does that sound interesting? let me know.
