I live in Vegas and there was a one night only concert at Orleans Arena with Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis. I can tell you while they're all legends Little Richard just stole the show, it was INSANE! He needed help getting to the piano but once he sat down OMG he had that arena rockin'. I'm so glad I was able to see him at least once. I don't know how he did it but he never lost his voice.

I heard that he was one of the best on stage performers. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to see him perform live on stage. But, I have some friends who were able to attend one of his live concerts back in the 1950's, and they said that they were really impressed with his performance on stage. ... Agreed. Such a strong singing voice he kept his whole life. Came from a real hard tragic and tough childhood. You can see how it manifested in him as an adult.

Not to mention that the music is fabulous!! I actually remember my teens in 1960-ish DC, there were black & white radio stations. We didn't care, we listened to the good music (on the black stations, of course)!

Amazingly little Richard in interviews states that he didn't mind Elvis as it opened the door for him to a larger stage yet he was a victim.

So many bands wouldn’t be around if it weren’t for him. Even if he didn’t directly inspire each and everyone of them, the bands he did directly inspire took the torch in his place and kept passing it along. As I’m really sorry to hear he passed, I’m incredibly thankful for all the amazing things he’s done and happy to know that against all the odds, he became a music giant.

Sure he had a decent voice but that's all he has going for him. This man created rock and roll while inspiring young minorities to get into music and build the music we all love today. And all elvis did was make rock white and shift the public's eye away from these incredible musicians (not a political statement).
