Little River Falls is part of the Little River Canyon National Preserve located near Fort Payne Alabama. It's got some awesome views of the Little River.
Imagine how beautiful it would be to be kayaking down the river, with the canyon on both sides. Especially when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the rocks and caves along the river. The water is always clear, see right to the bottom. Never gets old.
I bringaI bring my scouts up there every summer on the way to summer camp. We hike down to a secret swimming hole and spend the day swimming and jumping off rocks. Even the parents enjoy the hike and swim. I found this swimming hole kayaking down the river. Eventually made some trails down to the swimming hole. When we are winter camping up there, we hike other places in the canyon. We have seen fossils in the rocks. I sure am glad we are keeping this for future generations.
Beautiful falls. But just a note at your age you can hear the river from where you were tells me you have protected your hearing in your machine shop work.
I hit you guys up a couple years back on cool things to do in Colorado and you didn't disappoint. Now I'm asking about a little closer to gone for you guys. What's the must eat, see etc. For a family in Pensacola? Seems to have what we want as a family, fishing (looking for a good charter), drivable to (12 hours from central Illinois), has a wataburger and close to bucees (a staple for a road trip!) And has a beach and sunshine! other than that, we are up for any suggestions!
Pensacola and the surrounding areas are great to visit. Lot's to see here especially if you're not from the area. The beaches are the main attraction and plenty of them to enjoy. If Pensacola Beach is a little too busy for you, try Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Alabama. That's our favorite beach towns and not far from home. Plenty of marinas there for charter fishing like Zeke's Marina. Buccee's is located on the corner of the Baldwin Beach Expressway and Interstate 10. Plenty of Whataburgers anywhere you go. I would suggest going to the Naval Aviation Museum. It's a must! also the USS Alabama and museum there. If you make it to downtown Pensacola you have to eat at McGuires Irish Pub, it's our favorite. Too many good restaurants to list! All of the beaches have great spots to visit, have meals and enjoy the white sand.
