Song is one of my favorites! So interesting that it really has no author because it’s that old American folk song. Never gets old to me nice rendition.
Well young lady that’s some good Pickens I really enjoy it. You do good on the claw hammer style banjo picking I’ve been playing since 1974 and I like the Earl Scruggs three fingerpicking you doing really good and you can sing good to Keep up the good work
Whenever I saw country is my least favorite genre, I NEVER consider folk a part of it. I mostly listen to hard rock and metal, but nothing pulls at my roots and my blood like folk music. Gorgeous voice and lovely playing!
Thanks! I actually played in heavy metal bands for the first few years of playing instruments so I know what you mean. I would’ve said the same thing a couple years ago.
Went last night to take a little round, I met little Sadie and I shot her down, Went back home jumped in the bed, Forty-four pistol under my head. Waked next morning 'bout a half past nine, The hacks and the buggies all standing in line, The gents and campers standing a round, carrying little Sadie to the burial ground. I begin to think what a deed I'd done, I grabbed my hat and away I run. Made a good run, a little too slow, They overtook me in Jericho. I's standing on the corner, reading the bill When up stepped the sheriff from Thomasville he said, "Young man, is your name Brown? Remember that night you shot her down? " I said, "Yes, sir, but my name is Lee, And I killed Sadie in the first degree. First degree, second degree, If you got any papers, read 'em to me? " They took me downtown, dressed me in black, put me on the train and started me back, all the way back to Thomasville jail, And I had no money for to go my bail. The judge and the jury, they took their stand, The judge had the papers in his right hand, Forty-one days and forty-one nights, to wear that ball those stars and stripes.
Is you channel banner from Little glade Mill Pond off the blue ridge parkway by any chance? it unlocked a core memory of mine from when I was a little kid going there with my grandparents. Also fantastic cover!
Technically I could, because if the writer of the song has been dead for at least 70 years - it’s free game - and these songs are all in the public domain cause they’re so old. But, I try to only publish my original songs on streaming platforms. I could do SoundCloud for these covers?
@@murphydoesntmatter yep I just turned 37... when I was a kid there were less than 500 cell phones on the entire planet lol. I can't wait to hear your next song lady♥️
@Mikeylikesit6909 obviously you're an idiot for making such a stupid comment. I played two years with the BlueCoat Drum and Bugle Corp out of Canton Ohio. And you? Doubt you've done anything other than elementary band playing a flutephone
so good! you have a great voice. i know nothing about banjos but was just given one about this size with no branding and no resonator on the back, is it a “ladies banjo”? that’s all i could find out online so far
