The history of small electric trains dates back to the days when real railway tracks covered the world.
The first electric train sets began to appear on the market in Germany at the end of the 19th century. In 1891, the Märklin company, a pioneer in the production of toys, introduced the first electric train set for children. The German company Bing also started producing similar sets during this period.
