This South Metro Fire Rescue is top of the line. From being in and around the fire Service from the age of 4, and really working in at as a volunteer at 15, then career at 20, I’ve gotten to see many things. This department is really second to none. Watch there employees talk during there videos, they’re always happy, well spoken, precise, just flat out solid and impressive. If I was young again, and restarting my career, this without a doubt would be my first application!!!! I would do what ever I needed to so I could get hired and on the job with the quickness. Looking at there stations, equipment, all there gear and hand equipment, everything is perfect. That’s not to say things aren’t off or mistakes aren’t made because all have issues and do things incorrectly, but that’s every department in the world. I’m just saying when you see them in action, look over there equipment, the placement of Engines, Quints, Rescues, Heavy Rescue and Dive units, the Rescue vehicle on tracks, just everything. One thing I’ve noticed right away is there not afraid to cross staff units and use Quints. I’ve preached that for years as far as Quints go and was never took seriously. We had small crews during the day when I worked, out response for any structure was Engine and Quint Tower out first. We pulled up to a working commercial structure fire one afternoon, I hit the hydrant with the Quint Tower Ladder and got ridiculed for weeks for it. Now, it’s looked at a must when running these type of trucks. But, just they way they do daily operations, this Dept has it together. No doubt about it. I wish I was 20 again. Keep up the best work!!!!!

@@tomcostello7793 Very well done to all involved in this video. At first, I thought it was a local news story piece but the longer it went I began to see just how well Littleton and the rest of South Metro work together and that this was not a "Pat Ourselves on the Back," this is (or was) a story to show the residents out there that they still matter, and now they have a larger set of resources to help them when (Heaven forbid) they need the help. Keep up the good work.

Very professional video, very well done. I live in Phoenix Arizona and am close to the border between the Cities of Phoenix and Glendale. Both are known for being top notch fire departments along with the Police Departments of both cities. I once had a natural gas leak on the south side of my home. I called the non emergency number to request a fire truck to come check it out and told them there was No emergency. I used a neighbor's phone so sparks would not be caused at my house and shut the mail breakers off on my power panel then evacuated the house. Two fire trucks, one from Phoenix FD and the other from Glendale FD both driving down the street with lights and sirens going. I felt embarrassed as neighbors came out to see what all the noise was about. They also detected the gas odor and called Southwest Gas to respond. Even an ambulance showed up from Phoenix Fire. The men and women of both departments treated my family and myself with the professional skills they have, it was determined the leak was underground and not a threat to my house. A crew was on standby as I re energized the power panel. I was asked to call again, and to use 9-1-1 if there were to be any future leaks. Yet they commended me in getting everyone out of the house and shutting down the power panel. Southwest Gas went through the attic to trace the gas line headed to the central heating, nothing was left out. Highly professional Fire Departments is what saves lives!!! These two acted as though lives were at stake even though there was no true emergency!!! This video made me think of that day as I watched, The Denver area is blessed to have such a fine Fire Department!!

@@Darthvaporapex •Types of trucks . @Darthvaporapex
@Darthvaporapex 5 лет назад
@@ethan.dalton6404 yeah we have in integrated fire/ems. It's tough because you never know what you are responding to. There is also overlap between police and fire. For example, we( fire/ems) often respond to drink drivers as welfare checks. We normally try to snag their keys and wait for police but it can be risky and take a while. The police in my city are severely understaffed and we often take up the slack.

@@ethan.dalton6404 Greater Manchester FRS have trauma technicians who have served in A&E depts. They do respond when GMAS request them, especially to Class 1 heart related calls. @calebcobb9224
@calebcobb9224 5 лет назад
Typically in most fire departments since fire and EMS are the same department, all members are firefighters and at least EMT's. Paramedics are still fire fighters, they just have a higher medical license than most the others. As far as rank goes they're typically held at the same as other fire fighters, although pay is typically higher.
