Bishop Remi de Roo was the celebrant at this Call To Action event. During his tenure as an diocesan bishop, De Roo was known as a strong proponent of social action and liberation theology. Also, he was at the centre of a financial scandal that left the diocese nearly bankrupt - De Roo made a series of large investments in real estate and in a horse-breeding ranch. When the ventures failed, the diocese was left with a debt of over $12 million. And, he did not obtain Vatican approval for any of these transactions!
+SusanMCM Notice he does not use any of the signs which specifically note him as a bishop...no miter, zucchetto or crosier, no blessing the crowds on his way there and back, (probably) no "Peace be with you" as the opening greeting, (probably) no "my brother Adam, the bishop of this diocese and me your unworthy servant" in the Eucharistic Prayer, and no solemn Episcopal Blessing at the end ("Blessed be the name of the Lord/Now and forever. Our help is in the name of the Lord/Who made heaven and earth.")
The saddest part about this is that the priest is probably validly ordained and so our poor Eucharistic Lord actually had to sit there and be subjected to all this.
While he was technically validly ordained as a priest since he was ordained before 1968, he is a public heretic who is communion with the Vatican II sect and holds Novus Ordo "masses", which are not valid masses.
@@folofus4815 Un freaking believable this is OUTRAGEOUS: "De Roo was at the centre of a financial scandal that left his diocese nearly bankrupt. Over a 15-year period, despite being a critic of capitalism he made a series of large investments in real estate and in a horse-breeding ranch without adhering to canonical requirements for consent from the Vatican, consultation with diocesan clergy, or financial record-keeping. When the ventures failed the diocese was left with a debt of over $17 million. De Roo was not accused of fraud but did not obtain Vatican approval for any of these transactions. Vatican approval is required for transactions over $3.5 million. In May 2000, De Roo issued an apology to all Catholics in his former diocese which was printed in parish bulletins. In the apology he wrote that "I am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness." The diocese sold off assets and issued bonds to clear the debt. The diocese eventually sold the land it owned in Washington state in November 2006. This allowed it to pay off its debts completely, including to the many parishioners who had purchased bonds.De Roo was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing by a jury in the civil action, which determined that he had actually made a sound investment."
nah, that kid is going to grow a beard, buy 700 prayer ropes, and become a hardcore Ortho-trad named Dalmatius or Severian. From there he'll either a) be a married seminarian with a Slavic/Greek wife and six kids or b) planning his way into being the next abbot of Mt. Athos.
This is ghastly on every level. Certainly on the aesthetic level, but also theologically. "Sing a new Church into being"? As if there was something wrong with the Church we've inherited from the apostles! Good Lord, deliver us from people who think this kind of thing is a good idea.
We Catholics have to make sure that the Church will never be like this, not just the clergy, we the laity must defend our faith against radical elements as well. If I ever went to a Mass like this I would laugh and leave, these people are nuts.
I feel kind of bad for Macaulay Culkin and Edward Cullen's illegitimate offspring there. Being trapped in a church with giant puppets, and being the ONLY kid amidst a bunch of senior citizens who obviously abuse drugs and alcohol. If I were him, I woulda just stood their while that guy waved the torch at me and just let myself burn to death out of my misery.
The extremely telling thing here is every component, save that of the actual priest, is shouting "look at me!!!!" This wayward group has turned the entire liturgy into a spectacle about themselves and completely deepmphasized the gospel. I have been to countless liturgies in Africa and the middle east that have had liturgical dancing, and NONE of them look like this. The wide gates and movements of the dancers once again reveal it is all about them.
This is absolutely disgusting and appalling! I too laughed at the dancers in the beginning, but that quickly turned to shock. Utter filth. What a disgrace. The ONLY consolation is that most of these people are old and irrelevant, and hopefully these heresies and abuses will go with them. Shame on anyone who participated in this abomination. The "adults" should be embarrassed for looking like such ridiculous buffoons! Is this at a retirement home??
What I find interesting is that even in the midst of insanity they still recognize the sacred. Where the people had been sitting around while the puppets and prancers came in, as soon as the book of the Gospels and the priest processed in, everyone stood.
They are good, decent people. Putting good people in these unfortunate circumstances is one of the ways in which Satan tries to mock them. They are far too decent to just get up or make a scene and intervene. This is not only liturgical abuse...the attendants' faith is being tested.
Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, which have worked together from the 1st century until now, in conjunction with the popes from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc, centuries until now, along with the Ecumenical Councils, are all bound together by Hermeneutic Continuity, and thus reveal the Divine Law. The Eucharistic miracles are revealing that the Real Presence is real. 1.) St. Sixtus 1 (c. 115): "The Sacred Vessels are not to be handled by others than those consecrated to the Lord." Those who falsely say they want to go back to the early church ignore the fact that women at the very beginning weren't allowed to be consecrated, nor allowed to touch sacred objects, nor allowed to do readings, all of which undoes what Jorge Pachapapa wants for acolytes and lectors. And St. Paul wrote in the Sacred Scripture that women were to keep silent in the churches nor usurp authority over men (1 Cor. 14: 34-35; 1 Tim 2:12). 2.) St. Basil the Great, Doctor of the Church (330-379): "The right to receive Holy Communion in the hand is permitted *only in times of persecution."* St. Basil the Great considered communion in the hand so irregular that he did not hesitate to consider it a grave fault. 3.) The Council of Saragossa (380): Excommunicated anyone who dared continue *receiving Holy Communion by hand.* 4.) This was *confirmed* by the Synod of Toledo. 5.) Saint Leo the Great read the sixth chapter of Saint John's Gospel as referring to the Eucharist (as all the Church Fathers did). In a preserved sermon on John 6 (Sermon 9), Saint Leo says: "Hoc enim ore sumitur quod fide creditur" (Serm. 91.3). This is translated strictly as: “This indeed is received by means of the mouth which we believe by means of faith. "Ore" is here in the ablative and in the context it denotes instrumentation. So then, the *mouth* is the means by which the Holy Eucharist is received. 6.) The Synod of Rouen (650): Condemned Communion in the hand *to halt widespread abuses* that occurred from this practice, and as a safeguard against *sacrilege.* Those who are amicable don't have a problem then after learning about this to start receiving on the tongue so as to try and help limit sacrilege, but the defiant types won't. The Council of Rouen (650): “Do not put the Eucharist in the hands of any layman or laywoman but *only in their mouths.”* 7.) The 6th Ecumenical Council, at Constantinople (680-681): Forbade the faithful to take the Sacred Host in their hand, threatening transgressors *with excommunication.* 8.) St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274): "Out of reverence towards this Sacrament [the Holy Eucharist], *nothing touches it,* but what is consecrated; hence the corporal and the chalice are consecrated, and likewise the priest's hands, for touching this Sacrament." (Summa Theologica, Part III, Q. 82, Art. 3, Rep. Obj. 8.) 9.) The Council of Trent (1545-1565): "The fact that *only the priest* gives Holy Communion with his consecrated hands is an *Apostolic Tradition".*
This is what happens when we do not listen to the Church. Ambiguous language can only result in self-interpretation of liturgy, scripture, morals, etc. I hope, when Jesus was on the cross, meant "Forgive them, for they know not what they do" applied to this too...
If the priest is a validly ordained priest, despite the severe liturgical abuses, its not invalid but illicit. They are still receiving the Body and Blood of Christ. These people I sense are bitter and angry at the Church and create this monstrosity as a way to vent their frustrations on their childhood. I think they see this as giving the middle finger to their parents, teachers or clergy that might have hurt them when they were younger. God help them all! I pray the veil is removed.
First 60 seconds-didn't know if I should Cry or Laugh.-Then half way through maybe throw up-then Cry again- Then ... I was filled with hope, and thanksgiving that they are all older and will soon not be with us- But when I see good Liturgy, especially in Latin Mass- I see young, big families. The good Lord, will never abandon his bride.
I admit it, this made me cry out of shock and wondering if this is not an isolated incident. My Protestant church was not even like this..we had order, and it was much like a proper Mass. I'm so glad my Parish follows the Order of Mass with only an organ used and a Cantor or two or choir and Cantor(s). I do want incense, though. I need counseling after seeing this. This is beyond liturgical abuse, it's an absolute insult and mockery, and his bishop should have told him to get back to the Novus Ordo Order of Mass or no longer be able to celebrate Mass at all. "Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier"? Using that in baptism invalidates the baptism, if he uses that erroneous formula, which I hope he doesn't.
As an Orthodox Christian I know for a fact that no matter where I go in the world I will never see anything like this in any Orthodox Church. The Holy Orthodox Catholic Church, which constantly celebrates the Divine Liturgy, has never experienced liturgical reform like Roman Catholicism has. Thank God☦
And yet you Orthodox people hate each other. Ukrainians vs Russians, Romanians vs Bulgarians, Greeks vs North Macedonians, etc. Also, Orthodox clergy is corrupt af! Oh, and should I add that the highest numbers of abortions and suicides in Europe occur in Orthodox countries? Orthodox people = Devil.
The presider was retired and disgraced Canadian Bishop Remi de Roo. According to wikipedia: "De Roo, however, was at the centre of a financial scandal that left his diocese nearly bankrupt. Over a 15-year period, he made a series of large investments in real estate and in a horse-breeding ranch, all without submitting any records of these to an external audit. When the ventures failed, the diocese was left with a debt of over $12 million. Other references say the figure was $17 million. De Roo was not accused of fraud, but did not obtain Vatican approval for any of these transactions. Vatican approval is required for transactions over $3.5 million. In May 2000, De Roo issued an apology to all Catholics in his former diocese which was printed in parish bulletins. In the apology he wrote that "I am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness." The diocese sold off assets and issued bonds to clear the debt."
Notice he does not use any of the signs which specifically note him as a bishop...no miter, zucchetto or crosier, no blessing the crowds on his way there and back, (probably) no "Peace be with you" as the opening greeting, (probably) no "my brother Adam, the bishop of this diocese and me your unworthy servant" in the Eucharistic Prayer, and no solemn Episcopal Blessing at the end ("Blessed be the name of the Lord/Now and forever. And the thing is, Novus Ordo CAN be done piously and holy. but there is just so much wiggle room that often times you have entertainers rather than priests come in and destroy something that was meant for salvation. Mother of Good Success, Pray for us!
Wow! Aging hippy Satanists, I liked the Priests attempt at voodoo dancing. Don't you think the congregation look like the neigbours from Rosemary's Baby.
Same. I have a Traditonal and Novus Ordo Mass in my area. I attend both. The Novus Ordo in my area isn't a problem, in fact, the Priest condemns litrugical abuse like this, as every good Priest should.
He is a bishop! His name is Remi de Roo and until he retired he was the Bishop of Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. He's a disgrace! He admits to having heated arguments with JPII and Cardinal Ratzinger over, among other things, his advocacy for a female priesthood. Bishop Remi de Roo was the biggest supporter of the Winnipeg Statement which still hasn't been denounced. As I write this, he is 92 years old and still causing trouble. Pray for him.
No, as much as I hate to say it, this Mass is valid. That man was a validly ordained priest, and he said the words of consecration. This was most definetly illicit and it was highly inappropriate in a multitude of ways, but it was valid.
Aside from the heretical puppets and dancers... What the hell is up with the church building itself? It looks more like a Jehova Witness "kingdom hall" than a Catholic Christian Church. Very sad to see such severe liturgical abuse occuring.
hey!!!! awesome! I didn't realize that "Nilly Vanilly" found work afterall!!! I heard they could not sing for themselves so this is perfect for them as no syncing is necessary!
Shame on these so called "Catholics". The mass is not to be changed in any extreme way because the Most Holy sacrifice of the Mass is that of the ENTIRE church, and not of the specific celebrant.
