Where are the atrocious comments now? We have to support them and not trash them when they lose. I saw at the beginning of the tournament that she changes her game. Serving stronger and committing less unforced errors. I think she was so focus on maintaining her ranking that she wasn't looking to improve her game. As long as your game is good, you can reach number 1 anytime. She should continue working on her weakness and I am sure she will be stronger. She is a true champion 😊

After the first few games I was like why on earth Swiatek is not hitting any winners, and then it became apparent to me, it's her tactics for this game. Well done Iga!! It looks like she got her motivation back! I am surprised that most of the selected points were from Samsonova (a great tennis player though!) It would have been great to see many more points won by Iga.

Even if she is #2 at the moment, it is clear that Iga is still the best player in the WTA. She will return to being #1 most likely after the Australian Open if Sabalenka fails to defend her title which is a possibility if Sabalenka plays Rybakina there.

Great game against very strong heavy hitter that just eliminated Rybakina and Ostapenko. Samsonova definitely has bright future. In this game Swiatek proved that with improved serve (Samsonova had 0 break points in whole match) and being patience in defence she can win against this type of opponents. Most prestigious title in China won after a 4-year break has definitely great taste. Very important win for Swiatek and what a great potential she has, she needed just 3 weeks break to play best games of the season. Excellent game against Garcia (best in the season for Swiatek), excellent game against Gauff who was on incredible run lately and now against Samsonova who in recent months is in great shape.

Everytime IGA comes to Beijing, I will hope she will win CHINA CUP 🏆, and I will spend the CHAMPION evening with IGA in Diamond Court, just as yesterday evening 🏆. Haha.

It is definitely an extraordinary championship on the behalf Iga SWIATEK. It is really an immense achievement which was lucidly attained by professional Polish competitor. Is it really true? Zero unforced errors. Does this ever actually happen? If it’s true, it’s astonishing. Samsonova was playing good all week, and the haters saying Iga is overrated. Well, OK then. She still has five titles this season. Yes? Fascinating.

Just an observation - we want to feel special when we identify with a winner, with a hero of the day but we are not - they are, thet are special, we are not. So usually teams of fans who support different players fight with one another in the comments sections trying to desperately prove that their idol, their hero is more heroic and hence they are more heroic, more special. For this ego-boosting scheme to work the losing side needs to be devaluated, diminished to at least some degree. I have a solution which is good for everybody = players and fans because sooner or later you will inevitably find yourself in the second cathegory, losers cathegory so not to get there yourself and not to put anyone else there it's enough to just give credit where credit is due. Iga won but Samsonova won too, she had an amazing run in this tournament, so just appreciate both players, both warriors because they are constantly trying to give the best of themselves, to push their own limits, to overcome difficulties which is sth special in itself and much more than an average person does. Not everybody can be a champ but everybody can be appreciated for their effort, dedication, progress, craftsmanship, fighting spirit. The victory isn't sweet when your opponent crumbles and you beat them easily - the sweetest victory is over the strongest and the most dangerous opposition and those are the greatest matches to watch too, so wish everybody good luck, good health and the best disposition possible. In the end the games are what is fun - not only the final match result. Example - did you enjoyed this final more or Swiatek vs Garcia? Which duel, which victory tasted better? You know what I mean? We need to support them all, all players because we need them to be the best versions of themselves to give us the greatest excitement and greatest emotions. In that way losers will feel that they are heroes too... If you are happy because some player's form drops down you are acting against yourself as a fan. I want them all to be at their peak - mental, physical before every match and I truly wish them to be so.

What was that Samsonova? I had such high hopes for this final, but it turned out, that when you wouldn’t make and Unforced Error, you would end up serving a Double Fault 🙈 Iga didn’t even have to bring her B game to this match. I hope, that Samsonova will get some positive aspects of this match and will grow on it for the next matches and hopefully more final stages 🙏 Congrats to Iga on another Masters 1000 title 💪🏽 the immediate reaction with tears in her eyes just told us, what she went through mentally, lately!
