Out of all the trailers that Disney dropped, The Lion King is my favorite, I've watched it eight times!

the lion king is one of the cornerstones of my childhood, watched it a bajillion times, know every song, every line.. maybe a small change in the story will be good, but it better be a good twist.. coz the last thing i want is a remake ruining the lion king for everyone especially the younger generation that hasn't seen or hasn't even heard of the original animated movie. ALSO, RIP Robert Guillaume, original voice actor for Rafiki.

Hello from South Africa. Yes Lion King is also my favourite Disney movie of all time and I have been privileged enough to be born and raised on the African continent and call it my home. For me....what made Lion King extra special was when I was younger, all the animals, the Savannah landscape, were very familiar to me. Elephants, Zebras, lions, giraffes, hippos, wildebeast and many other animals can all be seen at the nature reserves. They captured the beauty of what makes Africa, Africa so well, its amazing. Only later when I got older did I realise that they took inspiration story wise through Hamlet. My all time favourite Shakespeare story that I learned in English class back in High school. So yeah, an African Hamlet story. Fantastic! Absolutely Fantastic. Also fun fact, Hakuna Matata is a common phrase amongst the local African communities over here and also...the song 'Circle of Life' was recorded in Durban with some traditional Zulu people. Zulu is the main language here in South Africa. Nice to see our land get recognition like that. I hope they don't mess up this live action movie, I would be severely upset. For now though it looks like it has potential to be great, but only time will tell if this is another success or not.

I'm bummed out that they didn't bring back Jeremy Irons to voice Scar. At least we got the real Mufasa.

Can't wait for the live action Aladdin and Little Mermaid :D

The teaser made me have chills when the circle of life came on. Since day one the lion king and the little mermaid have been my favourites.

I think they did this first trailer shot for shot to get as many people watching the game to know exactly what this was a trailer for, and to get the hype train going. I think the trailer from now on will show some new stuff. They sure got the nostalgia juices flowing!!!

My husband and I went to see The Lion King on Broadway a few weeks ago, and we freakin LOVED IT! There was so much added to the story (without spoiling anything) and I really do hope they add some new elements to the remake as well!

I saw this exact trailer yesterday too while the game was on, and thought of you doing this. I also thought baby Simba was kind of cute. It’s nice to know that the original cast members like Dick Von Dyke, and James Or Jones are coming back to be part of what they did years ago.

One rumour I heard was that a deleted scene from the original will be in this one. Where Scar tried to make moves on Nala in order to solidify his place as King. With Chiwetel playing the part I can see this working well. God why do they have to drop these so far in advance? Im dying over here lol

I’m SO excited for the live action Lion King. Trailers are my forte and I’ve been WAITING for two years for this teaser to drop. Keep in mind, this is just the teaser, to get us excited and to show off the visuals. In most teasers, they feature unfinished scenes, visuals, and action. This just gives us a taste of what is to come without giving anything away. We should be getting an OFFICIAL trailer come March or April. Who knows, the stampede scene may have more wildebeest and the birth scene may have more animals! And I’m sure we will get a brand new cover of The Circle of Life, this is just to get us PUMPED! All in all, I’m SO excited for this. I cried when I watched the trailer. This is going to be the most stunning film of the decade, 25 years after the original 😍

One thing that can be said about all the live-action movies from Disney is that they look visually stunning. This teaser is literally the exact opening-scene from the original movie just in cgi, with the exact same version of the same song from the original, a voiceover from a voice-actor who did the exact same character in the original, and then a list of celebrity names...it's hard for me not to see this as something that's created specifically to get more money from the fans of the original movie. But then again, so was Beauty and the Beast, which is my favorite Disney-movie, and I was still excited for that, so I'm not judging anyone for being excited to see it.

A few days ago in Washington DC, I was at the Zoo and met one of the guys who took photos of lions for The Lion King, (original) and he was an actual Disney ANIMATOR!

Lion King is one of my favorite movies in part because it's one of the first movies I ever saw in theaters. I was very young so it was a huge part - Disney in general was a big part - of my childhood.

If I did trailer reactions like you do and I saw it on TV I would of of run in the other room so I couldn't hear or see it so I could do a reaction to it later the only thing at the end that bugged me was Mufasa says in the original movie remember who you are in this one he just said remember but I think that's just a play on remember this fantastic movie. theyre adding a few songs from the musical, like shadowlands by adult Nala and The morning report by Zazu. Shadowlands is about Nalas decision to leave pride lands for more fertile grounds, this wasn't explored in the movie, so maybe this means that the movie will incorporate scenes/plots from the musical into the movie.

i am so excited for this. I cannot wait to see what happens.

AH-HA! I knew that you, as a fan of The Lion King such as myself, would feel the same way! Everyone is like "OMG THIS LOOKS SO GOOD I WANNA SEE!" whereas I'm like "Yeah... it looks good... but that's about it". I do wanna like this. I just hope it's not a shot-by-shot remake. There would be no point in remaking it if it's just gonna be the exact same movie, but with more modern animation and voice actors. So, same as you: cautiously optimistic about this.

I'm also a Lion King fan, I had it on VHS when it first came out and had quite a few action figures which included a pride rock play set, along with stuffed animals. I just noticed that pride rock was different, the part where the lions walk is down lower than it was in the cartoon. As a Lion King fan I didn't enjoy Lion Guard and didn't watch it after the first episode.
