In the 1980s I spent a lot of Sunday mornings at the old Maxwell Street Market in Chicago. I recently came across a cassette tape I made of some of the musicians who played at the old market. I remember taking a cassette recorder and hanging out for a while near the 'blues tree', a spot behind a building where musicians would play every week, and recording while several different people played, but I don't recall any names. Anyone know who this is so I can give credit where it's due?

Did you ever go to the Poinciana Lounge at Lake and Hamlin? I first went there in 1980, and kept going back till the summer of '82 till it "closed".. I had gone there, and the place was really quiet and dark, with few people. They said the owner Al had passed away. Two weeks later I drove by there to hear some great blues and the place was burned down to the ground. Thanks for the memories Poinciana Lounge!

An old man that had a Clothing Store use to take me down on Sunday to Buy Clothes and Shoes for His Store. I Remember bands playing in a Junk filled lots with electric cords coming out of the House/blding next Door. Enjoy the Music was only 15 at the Time very different from WCFL or WLS. He was a Vegetarian So He Wouldn't Even Buy me a Maxwell st. Polish. Instead kind of Spoiled fruit for Lunch. 1975 to 1976. Old Maxwell St.
