Both of my parents got Covid 19 at the long term memory healthcare center. My mom 90 tested positive and 5 days later my dad (93)tested positive. My dad was taken to Kaiser for treatment my mom was treated at the healthcare center. Incredibly they both recovered and are negative now. Neither needed oxygen but my mom was on an IV due to dehydration for a few days. My dad on,y had a fever for two days and a slight cough but nothing else. Truly an incredible story. Just wanted to share this great outcome. Really enjoy medcram videos.

So glad to here that. My parents were also in a long term care facility near me in central Massachusetts. 95 and 96 years old . Both got Covid. Very typical symptoms. Unfortunately neither survived, dying with days of each other. They were married since 1946. I too follow Medcram, it’s my primary source of Covid information. Be safe .

Just another Covid scenario here. A family member (60ish) came down with Covid in late February. She fought it at home for about a week but ultimately was hospitalized, then ICU, then as a last resort before ventilation she was given HCQ and Azithromycin. She stated that the improvement was "instant"! Her husband ran a fever of 99° for 2 days and no other symptoms. She went home after 4-5 days, but regaining her health fully took several weeks. Both are fine now.

Thank you so much! I’m a retired engineer so have no medical background but I really value your input, though I only understand the broad outlines (which you do very well). I find it refreshing compared to ‘official’ statements from Govts and their medical experts! I live in Changsha, China, just 350 km South of Wuhan. We’re grateful that new infections are really low, though yesterday’s went up to 16. Of course no-one believes Chinese data; just from the published deaths, the numbers of infections are ludicrously low (like most countries, because insufficient testing and tracking have been done). I have read about anecdotal suggestions that the Chinese deaths were vastly greater than the published figures. Alongside those, I would like to add my own anecdotal evidence. My wife and her family have lived all their lives in Changsha and have friends who live in Wuhan. While we know of many Changsha doctors who were drafted to work in Wuhan during the crisis, no-one in the family circle knows of anyone who’s had the disease or died from it. Of course that doesn’t prove anything. By comparison, because I come from the UK, I know of at least 13 friends and family who’ve had mild cases of it. The only death I am familiar with is a shop-keeper where I used to live in North London. All this seems strange. If the Chinese deaths have been so high as some have suggested (10x higher than published figures), why has no-one in our circle heard of anyone who’s contracted it? I’m not expecting an answer; I just wanted to make a small contribution to the general topic of numbers that China releases. I acknowledge that this is outside of the scope of MedCram’s remit, so please feel free to ignore!!!

@@LinusWelt I've been impressed with how they've handled things after the initial problems early in January. I feel safer here than almost anywhere! I'm also impressed with how they've helped others. I've read how Greece sent several medics etc to China in January to learn how to manage it when it struck their own country. The Greeks have done really well as a result. They're still being super careful. Last week I traveled east to JiangXi province and was barred from the major tourist locations since I didn't have a blood test (takes 3 days). No such thing in my Hunan. Yes, I had the location tracker on my phone indicating I'd not been anywhere suspect over the last 14 days. OK it was a shame to miss out on those locations, but I'm so glad they're still taking things seriously.

Time will tell how Asian populations managed to weather the storm with far less infections than the Western world/Russia/S America. I think it must be far more than procedural mitigation, & perhaps generally speaking Chinese Traditional Medicine or elements of the Asian diet/lifestyle have preventative properties in boosting immunity compared to other regions.

Same family in China don’t know of anyone with the virus except for the cases published in news releases. Word passes around quickly, so I don’t see how they could hide it. For Wuhan I don’t think it’s necessary for the government to lie. Not doing enough testing like most other countries have done results in low numbers without even trying. Many developed countries are not doing enough testing more than four months since the RNA genome was shared. It’s pretty reasonable for China to have struggled even more as the first ones to deal with the virus. Sometimes I’m confused by why people think the Chinese government is so smart and infallible that everything is done with intention and not the result of a huge mess up.

Since mortality rate is less in the teenagers, could they help at least to check which patients are really in need of covid 19 treatment or not. Maybe volunteering at front desk, medical history, etc. training them it could be helpful.

The survival rate has improved in USA. It would be good to check use of ventilators or not and outcome in USA. One of the issues in order not to increase the numbers in ICU patients is to prevent patients to get to that stage. How can we do that?

I have read studies on the affect of N-acetyl cysteine in relationship to pulmonary hypertension. The studies have contradicted themselves, with some showing (in rats) that it increases PH, while in others it is suggested that NAC may be a treatment for PH. I am currently supplementing with NAC and have hypertension. I started on this supplementation after viewing your videos on COVID 19. Could you please clarify this NAC PH connection? Perhaps you can address this in one of your videos. Thank you very much.
