Setting appointments is simple AF getting them to show or answer the phone is whole different beast
@joecascio2073
@joecascio2073 2 года назад
Great content. I got my insurance license in 1989 under New York Life. Had zero experience before that. They have exceptional training classes and they prepare you intellectually with the knowledge but reality hits you straight in the face when you’re thrown out to the field. Knowledge is great but it damn sure doesn’t get appointments. 😂 The best advice I have is FORCE YOURSELF TO MAKE CALLS NO MATTER WHAT. If you embarrass yourself or get your feelings hurt take a breath and laugh it off. Insurance sales are definitely a humbling experience and it will only strengthen you. I don’t know of 1 agent that hasn’t struggled at some point in their carrier. Not 1. Here’s the kicker, I got out of the business in 2000 to go into my family’s restaurant business. Had a great time in the food industry until Covid hit. I recently got my insurance license again and started up 2 months ago. I find that it’s harder now than it was 30 years ago. Nobody answers the phone and have been called a bazillion times. It’s funny, even having prior training and experience I feel like a newbie all over again. Cody, your videos have really helped me press forward. I’m in the process of toughening up my skin to prepare for battle with leads. I know it’s a mind game and I just tell myself im going to win. Thanks again for helping. Joe

Hi. It’s been two years since this comments. How are you doing now? Did you start off in telesales in 2000 or door to door? I’m with Aflac after passing my prelicensing course and was kinda thrown into the field I feel on my first day. I’m a self starter and have been learning on RU-vid a lot even before I joined them though, and I want to be in this business long term, coming from a long background in transportation, copywriting and voiceover.

The thing is, I don't know why people even bother inquiring about insurance if they are just gonna blow off agents who call them. Why even fill out a quote page if you're not interested? These appointments are good, but there is an additional follow up question that I would believe needs to be asked to ensure the actual appointment is able to be closed. An additional question I would ask is, "besides yourself, is there anybody else that needs to hear and see the information when I arrive? If so, will they be there, too?"

I agree. Adversity happens in any career, no matter what you do. Not every call you make is gonna become a client. Not every interview you go on is going to turn into a job offer. Or you may work with a company for 5-10 years and then end up getting fired. There is so much uncertainty in career and finance. That is why you must always have a backup plan and keep yourself on the go. Even when you are happy with a job, always keep your resume and LinkedIn up to date. NEVER stop networking!

Great job Cody! A tip I learned from Grant Cardone is to ask them if they are talking on their cell phone right now. If they are say “Hey I’m gonna text you some information right now”. Then text over the exact same thing you had them right down on paper. Then say “Did you get that text?” The closing ratio statistically increases by 300% when you do this.

Only thing I wonder is pulling the close off through zoom. I know one insurance company will let me close through zoom without meeting them face to face. Foresters would on mortgage leads. I wonder who else would and also on final expense insurance.

These sales are pretty easy though right? These are people that have actually requested info. on life insurance which they've realized they need and which means they're pretty much ready to buy? All you have to do is do a great presentation. It's a done sale. But what about when you have to reach out to cold leads who don't have life insurance on their mind, who are young and don't think they need life insurance now, who give you every rebuttal in the book from "I don't have any people who depend on me", "I have life insurance at work, I don't need more life insurance ", "I don't have time today" and "Not interested "? Also, let me tell you, in this industry's male agents are looked upon more as the professional agent, and when you have female agents these folk usually think you're the secretary 😂😂😂 it sucks, but sadly that's how it is

Hey Cody. I have a full time job and starting to sell insurances part time until I make the same or more than what I do with my current full time job which is 8-5pm and I can only make calls after 5pm. Is it best to call on weekends and make appointments for weekends instead of weekdays after 5pm?

Not necessarily. I would try calling in the evenings because they'll be home.

Hey Cody, a question. Why do you have to ask for reason if they won't be going to the said appointment?
@BrandonSmith-qx8jx
@BrandonSmith-qx8jx 4 года назад
He said why in the video. It's to jog their memory because people are forgetful, so by asking, he forces them to think hard about it for a few seconds. Basically, to avoid him wasting time and money by getting porched.

Everything sounds great...the only awkward part is when he asks them kf they know of any reason why they wouldnt be there...that would kind of creep me out a tad...if i was the recipient on the other end...i like how he also says..he has to politely keep pushing...this is great stuff...also I noticed that he doesmt leave vm"s...do you just figure they wont listen to their vm's...?

It seems he has a pre recorded voicemail set to a keybind. Notice how everytime someone hangs up it seems he presses (maybe shift + key) to automatically send that pre recorded message.

Hi Cody! I am actually an appointment setter and one of my problems is they don't want to meet up. What is the best rebuttal for this?
@CodyAskins

I would say something like, "I understand. I’m getting back to you about the information you requested. I understand you don't want to meet about this, but since you requested it, I have to bring it by. Now, I'l be out in your area on (insert day), so should I drop this information off in the morning or afternoon?"
