Awesome presentation, guy knows what he's talking about. He puts in terms the whole family can understand, not to mention it's a quick and easy system to slap the mufflers on and say here's what you get! lol
+Wade McKenney Flowmasters have an annoying hollow-metal-can sound. Plus, they don't flow that well at all because the chambers and baffles impede the exhaust flow. Straight-through mufflers are the way to go.
This video doesn’t do these mufflers justice. I have the bullets on my stock LQ4 6.0 in my 2500 and it was very loud with a lot of decel popping. I like loud exhaust but it was so loud I cut my tailpipes shorter and added my spare Harley Davidson slip on mufflers to the back sounds great now LOL.
Whilst looking on summit, I looked at a dynomax muffler to quiet down my catless 6.0 ls. This video alone, the presentation, the information, and the comparisons just sold me a "quieting" dynomax muffler.
bigorangetrucker You aren't kidding. It has been years since I've bought mufflers but when I had a car, Flowmasters were the cool lick. Once I put a set of Dynomax mufflers on....shit.....It was soooo damn nice to have a quiet car with absolutely NO power loss. The drone that Flowmasters create is unbelievable, I was tickled shitless when I found a good performing muffler that didn't deafen me.
oh man get real! the best sounding muffler that was ever made was a muffler called Sonic Turbo. they were made back in the late 80's and maybe the early 90's. but if you had a good running four barrel vehicle the sound you got when you kicked in the 4 barrels was unreal. they had the sound you dreamed about. if you used headers it was even better. surely someone remembers those mufflers because everybody i knew back then used them. My mind isn't crazy and know one can tell me it is. let me know
I put the thrush welded 2 chambered mufflers on my car with 3" in/out and I LOVE them. They sound just as good as a flowmaster and cost 1/3 as much. Great throaty idle, awesome intimidating roar under hard acceleration and very tolerable on the highway. I had a set of Flowmaster 50's on this car before these and OMG, I will never use a flowmaster product again. the drone was unbearable! I also tried Edelbrock tru-flows, but those are discontinued and sounded REALLY nice. watch my vid^
Ooh, I love this type of demo. It'd be nice if they did something like this for a Honda V6 engine. It would definitely help me decide what type of muffler to use.
I need help!!! I am running a BBC 540 on an Airboat with 4 inch pipes. I need a muffler that will make it as quiet as possible. What ever setup will dampen the sound as much as possible. Please help. Thank you
So ultra flo or turbo ??? What of the two is best in terms of flow and power increase ? From all of em based on sound those are the two that I’m between atm and of course I’ll be getting em in the shortest version I can get because I’m going for a mid exit setup
I've grown to like the Super Turbos very much. They sound great when I accelerate but are not annoying while cruising. For me personally, I think the Ultraflow would be too loud. To each his own.
like my 1994 GMC sierra with a built 350 small block painted the block to look like shit the truck was an old beat up farm truck i astounded my dad when he tried takeing me in the hemi
I don't think their VT muffler existed yet at the time of this video. Regardless, it was discontinued. I'm betting all the reviews about the valve failure had something to do with it.
I HAVE a 3.8 series 11 w/72,000actualmiles I came across a 6" piece that you take pipe out install the 6" piece made by dinaflow I asking what the thing is called
This demo seems to be used with cats. It's too quiet during exchange (when muffs are removed). Was hoping to hear of muffler that could quiet a cat-less system. He also mentions nothing about drone.
