You are the handy aussie dad of youtube, these improvement videos are a great example of critical thinking and an organised approach to handy improvements 👍👍👍👏🌻 Thanks mate, me and my new second hand jayco eagle thank you 😆
Thank you for the vid. But what about option 4? Taking out the centre support and making the doors into a bifold? Where the bifold comes away from the entrance? That way you could access the cupboard from the entrance door easier.
Great suggestion! I did look at this but decided to keep it simple and to avoid having any visible or additional mounting holes. I would like to see someone do this to compare however.
Great thanks, Q. have you or can you convert cupboards to slide out drawers, while still keeping the doors on the outside. I have deep spaces that are useless for storage as you need to pull everything out to get to the back? thanks
You could potentially, with caravan construction you have to pack out for standard sliders to affix. A sliding basket system would work well as they are also light weight, however you need to then find the perfect size.
Great mod, when it comes to the door latches could they be turned 90 degrees and the metal brackets screwed under the shelf to retain the original locking system?
Not without relocating and having to cover up the existing holes from what I can see. I weighed up a fair few different options and ways to do it and ended up going back to this simple version. Have to say it works well and most would not notice it has been done which is great.
Help - I flipped the hinges nearest the entrance but I end up with a gap in the middle & at the hinge side. What am I doing wrong? It’s a 2012 swan.🤔🤔🤔
I did the same. So I screwed the hinge on the inside of the cupboard not on outside where originally goes. Now there is no gap on the side and just a small gap in between the doors now but doesn’t look weird or anything
Hi Shane, I think I confirmed via facebook there is a small gap due to the hinge design moving the door over. Quite discreet and to be honest I didn't really notice.
