beautiful weekend jams, man. rock on. i can't hardly think about CeeLo without thinking of Vance Gilbert doing his parody/homage/argument/answer to his "F*** You" song , ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LaqNHD3oTj0.html&ab_channel=VanceGilbert , but my daughter and i still love singing along to CeeLo's version of Kung Fu fighting, sing it out loud in the car every time the mp3 player throws it through the speakers. thanks for all you do to bring us smiles, Jamel. have a great weekend, man.
I like Daryl's House better than concerts. Because they look and sound like they are singing for themselves. Not to please their producers, agents, ticket venues and whoever else they have to please. It is just them and us watching and listening. Watching them just do what they want too. Like performing at Liberty.
Good observation! True too, yet my one experience in seeing them live in 1978 or 79, at a small county fair, I was able to get my elbows up on the stage, photographing them, John Oates being the other, and they were very real and seemed to be playing for everyone especially playing to the crowd. Great show, great memories.
I've been hooked on Daryls House for awhile now. GREATEST JAM in the world. Ce Lo is at the very top of my favorites-list among all the JAMS. Really fun to see your reactions to Crazy and No Can Do!! All such outstanding musicians too! Daryle is unreal. He got tired of big record companies and went rogue! And they all, always. have so much fun JAMMIN.
This is creativity at the root level. Can’t tell u how many “jam” sessions I had with crazy musicians.... starting when I was around 8 yr old , jamming with jazz greats in smokey bars & basements. Love Darryl for doing this.
"Do you really think you're in control? I think you're crazy." Yup, we fool ourselves into thinking we're in control of our lives but really we're not. The fickle finger of fate, karma, luck, random chance, call it whatever you want to, but it rears its ugly head and in the blink of an eye our lives can change forever, for good or for ill, or even end... and there's not a damn thing we can do about it except hang on as best we can. You really think you're in control? I think you're crazy... just like me.
That is a pretty bleak assessment of Life. You do have control over many, many things in your life. Your emotions, your actions, your thoughts are all under your control. I will give you a couple of ancedotal examples. I have a freind who is a stoner. He got a flat tire which I helped him change. Now, instead of getting the damned flat fixed, he threw it in the trunk and got stoned. acouple of weeks go by & he is out on the highway, gets another flat. Instead of being able to change it, since his spare was flat, he had to call a tow. Between the tow & the cost of a new tire, that cost him $500. My brother drinks. A lot. He has 6 DUIs of varying degrees, which has cost him a lot of money in court fines, lawyer's fees and insurance. Has he stopped drinking? Nope, still drinks, still broke, still whining about what a bad hand he got dealt and how lucky I am that I have a good job. It isn't luck, it is a Life choice. I do have an occasional drink but I don't drink to excess on a daily basis. And please don't go to the "He has a disease" place. Our oldest brother has been on the wagon for 4o years now.
@@NefariousPorpoise You're young yet. Don't let this bother you to much. There will be time enough to think about deep things like this later on in your life. For now, concentrate on growing up, school, friends, family, hobbies and fun. Those are the things that should concern a 14 year old and not the ramblings of old Boomers like me.
@@MsPrincesspaulina I think this is a matter of semantics. I think we have control of our lives, just not the circumstances. If, I'm wrong, please correct and forgive, but you believe because we cannot control the circumstances, we can't control Life. A rather chicken and the egg type of thing, wouldn't you say? I grant you that learning not to meddle was one of the hardest lessons as a person I ever had to learn. I learned that during one of my own bleak times when my spouse died and I was left alone with 2 little kids. But I got through that and Life moved on as it always does. My Christmas Wish (yes, I still do them) is for you to find Peace, Joy and Happiness in the coming years.
All these songs from this session are excellent. Its sheer talent. I love collaborations especially when its two people from different generations appreciation each other's music.
That was fun!!!!! Brought back great memories! I love you too, love your appreciation of all kinds of music, thank goodness for music in these crazy times, keep on keepin on!✌️
What's great about this, Daryl Hall is 74 years old. Let that sink in. That man can go out on the road, still his thing tomorrow, all things considered. Cee-Lo is awesome, I just need more music from him. Definitely a great pairing right here.
I’ve watched this video several times.. what a talent this guy is!! Thanks for the reaction.. always enjoy watching you!! BTW, think I saw in comments on Daryl’s channel that all the songs CeeLo did they were able to do only one take... he’s that good!!
Jamel. I think you are one of if not the Best Reaction Video Presenters I have ever seen on youtube. Your Dancing and Facial Expressions are Priceless. I suffer from Severe Depression and watching you lowers my symptoms, Sometimes even to the point, I start laughing and Dancing myself. Thank You so Much, My Friend.
Such a great song. Everyone from P!nk to Beyonce have done live covers of it. It really showcases the unique tone that Cee-Lo's voice has, and the lyrics are so good.
One of my favorite episodes. Another great one is the Fitz and the Tantrums episode. Daryl is one of their biggest influences and they really, really sound great together. It’s so good. 😻
Oh man Jamel..I watched this years ago on TV and that is the epitome of collaboration of singers & styles. This is one of my favorites! Stay well my brother:)
Would you believe that I had never heard this song until about a year ago. Once I discovered it, I would just play it on repeat forever! And this is the only version of the song that I’ve ever listened to.
I’ve been hearing this song on the radio a lot the past few weeks, but kept forgetting to look up the video. Thanks for posting this! Love this song 👏🏻😄❤️
Yes! I was surprised ,but happy when they started playing it on the "soft rock station in Boston(magic 106.7)(maybe not that surprised,it's IMO one the greatest songs ever written.
first song i ever ask u to see on Daryll's house, I don't do Instagram so u probably don't see them on you tube and have hundreds of request, 6 months later u did it, worth the wait. NICE!!!
What a treat Jamel......Phil and Daryl’s house.....the whole of the ceelo episode is worth checking out but there is one track you definitely wouldn’t be able to react to 😱😱😂😂😂🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Told ya this one was special . Daryl did a tribute to T-Bone episode . I requested you react to " I Miss You " from that show . It's special bro . Also in all his episodes he does a dinner segment, that you would love . The talk between artists is special .
Check out some songs from the house with RUMER. Her voice has a lot of Karen Carpenter in it. She does some great laid back and their cover together of the soul classic “Be Thankful” is great - good message in the lyrics too
See now, I'm a white brother. I never heard the song before. Man, when CeeLo hit that high note on "crazy", it went straight to my spine...in the best way possible. The harmonies were great. The band is always great. I'd buy that song in a heart beat. Thanks for sharing that! I've been hoping you'd throw in a song that you really dig, of the stuff you'd normally listen to, and what gives you stank face about it. You know, just here and there. This should be a two way conversation, don't you think?
I was in the 7th grade when this gem came out. Saw the video for it on vh1 (back when pop up video was still a thing) and I instantly fell in love with it.
Yes! I have been waiting for someone to react to this diamond collection of songs, Love Live from Daryl's songs....so many great artists...and this is one of my absolute favorites of the series! Awesome! I think Ceelo also did "I Can't Go for that" with Daryl in this session, you should check it out if you haven't already.
LFDH is great entertainment and I love that hia guests aren't always super well known. I fell in love with Amos Lee and Mayer Hawthorne watching the ahow! Great job Jamal!
Daryl has one hell of a band!!! The guys play a flawless performance with very limited preparation or practice. Daryl says "Hit it!!" and they are on point.
Jose Feliciano visited Daryl's House too. His cover of 'Light My Fire' (...by The Doors ) was a big hit for him back in the 1960s.....& he does it at Daryl's. He MIGHT even do his Christmas hit....'Feliz Navidad' also. I never saw the entire episode.
CeeLo is so talented. Great hiphop artist, great singer, creator and member of numerous bands and solo success. His verse in Git Up Git Out is one of my favorite rap verses ever.
If haven’t heard the F You song that CeeLo and Daryl do together you need to listen to it and yes I know it says F You but it’s not a nasty song, CeeLo really kills it on the vocals and it a very cool and fun song and you can really see how much fun they are having on it, if have to listen to it on your own
