It definitely feels like he’s a long time friend who you have inside jokes with and everything. I’ve watched quite a few different reaction channels but this is the only channel I’ve stuck with. I’m very new here but I can’t even tell you how far I went back watching everything

Today's music doesn't have anything that can remotely compare with this. This is real talent. No auto tune no computer generated music. Nothing but raw talent and a lot of heart & soul... They dont seem to know anything about any of that these days...
He's "learned" to sing... within his abilities now.... inflections at right times, accentuate notes at right times...it's fun to hear it...some guys can do it....
He's always been a dropper . especially in the 80s. Danced to this song with beautiful women a lot. Old,young. They just want that feeling back. Just human. Can't put a price on feeling connected in a dance..

It is the truth. Just great song writers, particularly for me Hall. great song writer. The producers and vocal arrangers between him and Oates from lead and background really gave them some bangers. Oates provided just enough sway not so that Darryl didn't dive too much into rock/country... and stayed in the funk/rnb/dance lane. Maybe that is why they didn't really get the credit back then. i don't know..just talking here. love Hall and Oates, love RnB, love Rock...

Everything about this performance is completely off the hook: vocals, drums, guitars, keys and most of all, the incredible recording engineering. This has to be one of the very best versions of this song if not the best.
I cant imagine how Darryl must feel bringing all his and John’s HITS back to a new generation and new flare❤️These guys were a huge 80’s staple!! Superb music never dies and Hall and Oats are one of the many perfect examples. Fun fact about Daryl's House for any history nerds out there: his #1 'hobby' besides music is restoring old 18th century homes back to their original using all old materials etc and this house that he's in he's worked on for something like 20 years. Every door handle has to be right, etc. Kinda cool. I remember watching a several-part series on the restoration hosted by Daryl and it was fascinating. It might still be on RU-vid somewhere. He knew his stuff. That house is incredible.
Had to be on point to make the replica Dinner Club. And the original kitchen. 🤩I loved the food segment when he put everyone to work then they all ate! ☺🐰
Saw H&O concert when I was 14 (39 yrs ago) and Darryl's voice was a little cleaner and softer then but he still had that range. Amazing musician and singer.
Live at Darryl's is an absolute musician's wet dream. I watched every episode in awe and with envy of all the artists that were fortunate enough to sit in with the insanely talented and experienced house band that Darryl has put together. Pure music, joy, awesomeness. Great reaction, loved seeing your body incapable of staying still, the true test, if it moves you, you move you.
This is literally one of my all time favorite RU-vid channels. There is so much joy for music flowing through each song, it sounds corny but it really does feel magical watching each one for the first time. Glad you got to experience it, I'm sure you'll experience more
I watched LFDH when it was first on, back in the day. I love putting it on & just letting it play. Always brings it & such diversity! As a musician, i love it!🎶✌
@@TommyBlazeHD I saw Hall and Oates live with Tears for Fears a few years ago and while both bands were great, I must say, T4F had the better sounding mixing and band. Hall and Oates seemed a little bit more relaxed about things (which is fine. They wanna groove, not be show-offs, and I am there to groove so let's go). It was pretty funny when they did Rich Girl. Daryll started it off just him and his keyboard like usual, then when the whole band and drums came in, the whole rest of the band was in a totally different key!! He had to stop the song and start again. It was his mistake because he started in the wrong key and the band was all technically correct. He was really embarrassed and I remember he said, "Did that really just happen? I've been doing this for how many decades and I really just did that?!" But it was funny too.
I basically quarantined at Daryl's House. Then Jamal invited me over to his place. LOL! Adding a vote for "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" feat. Train. Unbeatable for pure musicality. If I get two votes, Butch Walker's glee is infectious in "Say It Isn't So."
I remember listening to Hall & Oates "I Can't Go For That" in 1981 on Kasey Kassem's Top 40 when I was 13 years old. That music is JUST as great now as it was then! My parents were 33 in 1981 and Daryl Hall was 34! Strange to look back now and realize he was a year older than they were!

@@LA-fz5qw I'm British and the series wasn't shown here in the UK that I'm aware of. I discovered it on RU-vid about 2 years ago and was blown away by how good it was. Daryl Hall has just grown in stature and charisma with the years, what an amazing man. He will be 74 in October, so they really need to hurry up and make more shows if there is any chance of it happening before he lacks the energy! Daryl should hire himself a top TV talent booker like myself and line up an amazing list of guest stars - that way, I'm sure he could get the show re-commissioned.

🤠 I have spent the night listening to Daryl and his guests. I found some new artists to enjoy (Fitz and the Tantrums) and I was totally blown away when I heard Todd Rungdren. He is so fabulous.
The best part about Daryl's House is when they have their dinners and they cook different things and then sit down and have dinner conversation with their glass of wine always a good time right there. very inventive Daryl, love your house
When I first saw this joint a few years back -- I didn't want it to end. I still feel the same way today. I went to see Hall and Oats in concert a couple of years ago in Seattle. They were touring with Train. Believe me folks that was one damned good concert. By the way, Ceelo lit this track up, but I will always love the original.

These guys are all so damn good, just solid musicians that transcend to higher groove and brotherly love. Just all brothers in music, united for an unbelievable jam session... Daryl's House is awsome. Charlie Daniels had his yearly Volunteer Jam that was similar to this. Fellow artist that he invited to his Charlie Daniels Jam session. I love jam sessions. Because the artist are just not worried about entertaining and performing for a paid audience. That are just doing what they feel in the moment to just enjoy each other. Not planned and unpredicted. It's like a fly by the seat of your pants kind of thing. lol Never to be repeated exactly the same.

His house is actually a renovated 18th century farm house and barn. Thats where they filmed this. It is in a 250 year old barn. Darryl in his spare time restores old colonial homes in the New England area believe it or not .
Daryl's GOAT, that's why so many people have gone to his house! He has a club/restaurant called Daryl's House upstate from New York City near Poughkeepsie. I fully intend to go one day once we can have live shows again.
And if you pick the right night you might even see the boss man himself Daryl Hall, sitting at his favourite corner table, eating his favourite dish. They say he is cool with fans chatting, asking for selfies etc, just so long as he's done eating (the legendary off-menu 'dirty potato wedges', since you ask!)

Daryl has sold his house where the early shows took place. He recently renovated a bar and has moved the jam sessions and recording to his new place. Same great music and good times. Check it out.

Joe Walsh played several songs with Daryl: Rocky Mountain Way, Life's Been Good, Funk #49, Someone Like You and Wrecking Ball. They had a blast the whole time from what it looks like. I would suggest Life's Been Good or Funk #49 because those 2 seemed to really be Daryl's favorites that day judging by his mannerisms and expressions when playing them.
I sent him the link before he reacted to Joe Walsh about 3 or 4 months ago. Recommended Joe Walsh and Steve Miller Band, got Joe but not Steve. The Billy Gibbons one was good too with Cheap Trick as well.
